The food was fine - no chowder, so fish and chips. But what an astonishing place. A campground at the end of a drive over a mixture of paved and rutted dirt roads, perched on a cliff. And in summer they get 500 cars a...More

When you get to Cape North on the Cabot Trail, you will see a sign and turn for Meat Cove. Take it. The road in is an inexplicable patchwork of asphalt, gravel and dirt and it takes some negotiating the potholes when there is no...More

Nova Scotia's answer to The Road To Hana. Crazy, bad road but definitely worth the drive. We had heard about the chowder, but they were sold out, they were out of a lot of items on the already limited menu. We did enjoy the fish...More

Worth the drive! The chowder has fish, scallops, tiny shrimp in creamy base. Warm and good on the windy, wet day we visited. Service is nice.

Fantastic campsite - we're so glad we went. The staff we met (Justin - campsite manager, plus the two sisters who were running the restaurant) were incredibly friendly and helpful. The menu could use some help - mostly fried food and no desserts. The spectacular...More

We knew that we wanted to visit Meat Cove when we started researching the Cabot Trail. While I don't think it's technically part of the trail itself, this campground is a necessary part of the trip, in my opinion. The road getting there is rough...More

It is a beautiful location, but beware the last stretch of the road is very rough. We did not camp there, but they had some sites with beautiful views. They have delicious fish chowder

We stayed in a Wilderness cabin, the last one over. Basic as expected. One thing I have to say is if you have a larger vehicle there is no way you will be able to park beside the one we stayed in because the pathway...More

Probably our favorite campsite of 6 weeks of camping in Canada. Good hiking , too. Excellent chowder in the restaurant . Not for big rigs.

We camped at Meat Cove Campground for one night. When we arrived, Justin was kind enough to tell us about each campsite and invited us to check them out before we picked.. I've never had that kind of experience at a campsite before, you could...More

I doubt it very much, you would have to contact them to know for sure, but it is perched right on the ocean at the top of Cape Breton, driving there is tricky enough in summer, can't imagine it in winter
