Very nice place with good food. We had both pizza - very good. As a starter we ordered garlic bread, that was little bit surprise for us, as we expected garlic butter, garlic oil or something like this, not just pieces of garlic on bread. But was ok, something new for us. The waitresses been working very hard and tried their best to serve everyone fast and they were still very helpful and lovely. But one thing, that was very annoying for me and why I am giving three stars, are the ear radio plugs. I understand, that might be very helpful for staff, but it’s very annoying for customers. We wanted have nice romantic evening, enjoy otherwise lovely atmosphere and instead of that we been listening orders of all tables around us and who is ready for mains. Very sad, because this place could be very romantic.

Stunning setting. Really enjoyed our meals and the views. Polite friendly staff. Only slight grumble as some have already mentioned would be the raw garlic on the garlic bread. The bread was lovely but we had to scrape the top as it was overloaded with raw garlic.

We had dinner at the restaurant of the hotel which had an incredible view on the beach. We opted for the pizza sa barrera which was good and the pasta carbonara, which was quite disappointing. As a starter we took garlic bread en bread with goat cheese with pancetta. Just as I took my final bite of it, our main courses arrived… Furthermore, the staff was not well organised and we had to wait half a hour for our check. All in all, while the view was undeniably stunning, the food and stagf fell short of excellence.

Beautiful setting but service incredibly slow. Our main courses arrived at table while we were still eating our starters, when we received our mains only two arrived. We had to ask again for the third main course. When it did arrive it must have been microwaved as it was cold in the middle. Very disappointing in what should be a lovely restaurant. Would not recommend. 10% service charge was added to the bill when it arrived, which on this occasion was certainly not deserved.

Visited Jun 2024 for dinner one evening. Get the positive out the way; View is lovely over the bay and beach. Now the Negative. They still use a stupid QR code for a menu. I detest this, it takes away any chance of browsing properly. It didn't help that it doesn't work properly. My daughter ordered one of two similar dishes. One comes with Aubergine, the other without. She ordered the one without. They brought the one with....... They did knock 5 euros off the bill however. My wife and I both ordered the shrimp and clam pasta. Hers arrived with my daughters dish. Mine about 10 mins later. My wife's didn't have any prawns at all to speak off except the heads and tails (perhaps the waiter was hungry on the way to the table?). When mine finally arrived, it was full of Prawns and was in fact, really nice. So what happened between the two dishes turning up? Wine wasn't great despite asking for a dry Rose (again, no physical menu to choose from or point to). Cost wise, it's on par with similar restaurants which offer a far better service. A very disappointing experience overall.

We came here August 2018. It was laughable in 2018. So in our infinite wisdom, 4 years later Saturday 3rd Sept we thought we'd try again, we'd only been here 1 night, so if it had improved immensely we needed to know as we have 2 weeks to go. Setting as last time is beautiful, we strolled in around 20:30 to be met by a small Spanish girl who looked like she'd just left the gym, joggers and trainers, turned out to be a waitress !!! Fear set in. Have you booked she asked - No I replied Are you staying in the hotel she asked - No I replied We're very busy let me check she said. Only table 1 is available a small round table on the patio - OK i said. We sat. She wondered off. We waited. Eventually a menu was delivered, no offer of a drink, I had to say can we have 2 small beers. We ordered. Garlic bread to share. Pepperoni pizza to share. Bottle of wine to share. Garlic bread : Rustic bloomer cut lengthways. Drizzled with oil and toasted under a salamander. Slithers of fresh garlic covered the top, almost raw. We brushed off the raw garlic and the bread beneath was nice, fresh, slight crisp and now a hint of garlic. Couldn't have eaten with all that raw garlic. Pizza came : Odd. Nice base, thin, crispy. However the topping had a very thin almost watery tomatoe sauce on it, and slices of pepperoni. First time I've had a "wet pizza" apart from the old bolognaise chin dripper !!! Tasted OK, just an issue with the tomato topping which needs addressing. We were offered desert, we chose a brownie to share, dripping in a coulis, tasted nice but again a wet theme going on. As we sat we observed 30% of the tables not occupied all night, so we wondered why we were questioned when we arrived. Its as if 60-70% occupancy suffices ??? Odd. Would we go again ? Not this holiday. Next holiday maybe ? Probably not.

This place will select their customers based upon their skincolor...If you're a POC they will deny you a table under false pretenses of being fully booked while the place is empty with minimal reservations. Sad that in 2022 we still have to go through such experiences. Shame on you!

This restaurant is open to the public but it is part of the Hotel Sa Barrera complex and booking is advisable. We were lucky to get a table although we had not booked, we just walked past and saw the view and we were delighted they could fit us in. The outdoor dining area is a high-up terrace which has breath-taking views of Cala en Porter bay. The food was wonderful - Italian themed and the menu wasn't extensive but all the favourites were there. Portions were not massive but we were pleased about that - quality not quantity. What I will say is, the restaurant is close to the hotel pool area - and it is a lovely-looking serene pool area with ambient music... BUT the hotel itself is Adults-Only whereas for some reason the restaurant is not. It should be. The people who have paid a premium to stay at a child-free hotel do not need their peace and quiet ruined by screaming kids at the restaurant - which is what happened when a family with 3 small children turned up to eat and their kids just ran around squealing and yelling and tormenting the hotel cats. I am in favour of feeding a child if it's hungry. But. There are plenty of family friendly eateries around Cala en Porter. It would be best to leave places like this to those wanting a tranquil and sophisticated experience. People turning up with buggies and making a racket is akin to someone turning up in a tracksuit and trainers.

We have been staying in Cal en Porter for ten days. We have been fortunate enough to sample some wonderful food, in Mahon, Cuitadella, Sant Climent and Sant Louis. As we couldn't get a table in our favourite restaurant in Cal en Porter we decided to chance it. The view was stunning.. That is where the good points end. The waitress showed us to a table. Then her colleague questioned if we had a reservation. After much deliberation we were allowed to stay seated. As a family of 7 we knew it may be difficult to get another table. It took 20 mins to get drinks. We ordered a sharing plate of charcutere and bread which was nice. There were pizzas, pasta and meat dishes ordered. Two pizzas we're ok. The carbonara has more fat than bacon. The two meat dishes were unbelievable. We were expecting kebab's. Which came out as a stick with three pieces of meat. The steak and cheese came on a stick. The steak resembled a Menorcan sandle. To be fair it probably would have been more tender. They did take it off the bill. However judging by the reaction of the waitress, food complaints are a regular occurrence. None of the food was worth the money paid. Such a shame as the setting is lovely. Will not be returning.

We are sorry that nothing went well, the meat was Angus fillet, the cheese was typical of Menorca, many times it happens that you have to wait, especially when everyone enters at a time, that also goes with the common sense of an adult person, who have had discussions for a table, we have several people who book before, since we are always full with customers who book even two days before, this may have disturbed her, we are very sorry

This was our choice for our wedding anniversary, so I made sure that I called in and had a reservation for a nice table ( the waiter suggested the one in the opening picture of this review) and I was greeted courteously and made my reservation. When we arrived on the night we were "shown to our table" with a wave of the waiters arm in the direction of our chosen table. That unfortunately was the baseline for the service for the rest of the evening. Getting a drinks order took over 20 mins another 10 for the drink to come. Food order took ages to be taken (I don't time these things, you just know when you've waited too long) After another long wait our starters arrived. We both ordered brochette, when it arrived it was brochette of industrial proportions, we both had 2 quarters of a farmhouse loaf heaped with tomato and avocado great of you don't want to eat anything else ! While we are 'setting about' these mammoth dishes our main course arrives! Both of the pasta dishes. The waiter looked pushed everything around on the table, put the mains down and walked away. We had no option but leave the starters and concentrate on the mains before they went cold and congealed. The main course was very nice, but the service was terrible right from the start. It is shame but the kitchen deserve better front of house representation. The joke of it is that all front of house walk around with radio packs and ear pieces
