A warm welcome, lovely music and delightful paintings to admire whilst you eat and drink. The food is generally Italian or Indian. A strange contrast but brilliantly executed. My Barra prawn curry was amazing and plentiful. My wife's veggie curry also received a massive thumbs up. No wonder this place is pretty fully booked. Lovely staff. Will be back.

This was the last meal we had to end our Hebridean adventure and it didn't dissapoint. If we could give it a 10 we would. Perfectly spiced and extremely flavoursome, coupled with a good selection of thirst quenching beers. Absolutely delicious!

I just love this restaurant, lovely atmosphere lovely staff small but that just adds to the atmosphere. Booking is advisable, they have two sittings.

Visited for lunch and had a superb cream of crab & sweetcorn soup. So good we decided to come back for the evening service but that was nowhere near our lunchtime experience. Marinara had split. The Barra smoked salmon spaghetti came with free cotton from chefs uniform. Sent back and replaced with no issues. Both mains lacked seasoning. Asked for... More

This was my second visit to Café Kisimul. The previous year whilst sheltering from the rain a group of us had coffee and cake. Whilst looking over the evening menu I thought that it would be a nice place for dinner if I returned to the island. A year later I decided to have dinner. Booking was essential as it... More

Not sure if Bohemian is quite the right word for this great little place but certainly an unexpected find on Barra!! Lovely home cooked food. A very interesting menu choice of Indian, Italian or "conventional" food leaves you spoiled for choice as it all looked lovely and tasted great....try the Scallops Pakora!! The place was busy considering it was October... More

Nice wee restaurant in an interesting location. Basic but attractive surroundings and nice friendly staff. Choice of Indian or Italian menus; we ate off the Italian which had an interesting range of options. Food was good although a little too much sauce for the pasta. Enjoyed our visit ... nice to find somewhere a bit quirky with a good range... More

I visited this establishment while on holiday in Barra. Food was good, but since the original owner has departed the food has changed slightly. The taste of the food is not the same, a bit bland in taste. A bit more spicy I would recommend. Sauces a bit watery. Still worth a visit, and booking in advance is recommended.
