Just driving back to Auckland through Paeroa, we decided to go around the back streets in Hope of finding something different to eat at. And we did, The Refinery, super food, amazing old comfortable ambience, chill music and lovely people. Definitely worth a visit.

We found The Refinery by accident. So happy we did. The food was wonderful. Good strong coffees too. Lovely vibe. We enjoyed the savoury mince on toast so much, we took a detour on our way back from holiday to get it again.

Wow. Just wow. Somehow found this place and thank goodness we did. Felt like being in a quaint village in the south of France. We will never drive through Paeroa again without coming here! Coffee/Food/Service all exceptional. Tricky to find at first but well with the hunt...And the architecture! A must visit...

This is a cool eating place to check out. Initially I was intending to sit outside but when entering the building decided to sit on the sofa and check out all the interesting things inside. The coffee was good and the food also.

First time at The Refinery today, The coffee was great! For lunch I had the Cuban panini it had good flavours but was a tad dry. My fiancé had the low carb plate her review was - "all the components were nice and fresh but it was boring." But hey she did choose the low carb! The staff are lovely... More

I recently visited Paeroa with my daughter , we were taken to The Refinery cafe The coffee was good as well as the food ... I loved that the building was the gold and silver refinery back in the early 1900's You can read about the history while you are there

Stopped here on my way though Paeroa. Had delicious cake (marscapone and apricot tart) and coffee. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Will be back!

Just when we'd given up on a real coffee shop-Cafe we stumbled across this back street phenomenal place! The Style, the Food, the Service all brilliant. Home made thoughtful offerings and very reasonable prices. Easily missed passing through Paeroa so turn onto Wiilloughby Street look for the brick chimney and enjoy!

Enjoyed a lovely brunch here with the family, great service set in a beautiful location. Kids enjoyed having a bounce and run around in the yard.

Not easy to find, but well worth it once you do. Great seating outside in the sun and the vibe is quirky!
