Was fortunate to be in Thornbury on the third Tuesday of October to participate in monthly wiskey tasting. While usually Scottish beverages, can be Canadian ryes or US bourbons etc. Stephanie is very knowledgeable with histories and other interesting facts. Space is limited. A well-spent $25.

Went to lunch with my parents. They were a little short staffed, but they still managed to get our meal and drinks to us in very timely fashion. The ambiance is nice and the waitress was fantastic and the food delicious. There was a gluten free option for the burger. The lunch sandwiches were huge. All in all a great... More

Came her on a Saturday for lunch and ate in the pub area (by the bar). Service was slow, no friendly greeting. Food took a long time. No offer to refill drinks, had to flag down the waitress. Food came good and hot. The shepherd's pie was good. When we left, no "Thanks for coming" or any kind of acknowledgement... More

My wife and I were on a short road trip to enjoy the fall colours and decided to head to The Dam Pub in Thornbury. We had dined there once before with friends while on a motorcycle trip. This day the wait to get a table was very long. There were empty tables but the two servers on staff were... More

We went Sunday for Prime Rib. Our entrée was a ceasor salad and bruschetta which were both very very good. (the cooked garlic on the bruschetta plate was an added bonus and tasty) The prime rib was amazing and the Yorkshire puddings were huge! So my bride decided to have desert, bread pudding and she said it was her favorite,... More

Some friends and I were looking for lunch last weekend in or around Thornbury. We were drawn to the Dam Pub because of the advertised selection of whisky. They have nearly 800 different choices on offer. As it turned out we did not have any whisky as it was lunch time and a warm sunny afternoon. The restaurant was busy... More

Appetizer was the mussels- to die for. The sauce is incredible and available to purchase separately. For mains we had bangers and mash, and chicken supreme. Local sausage and grilled veggies with delicious gravy and mashed potatoes! Chicken stuffed with feta, apple and spinach, in a mustard white wine cream sauce- almost had to steal my girlfriend's meal! For dessert... More

What an unexpected pleasure! Great food, great whiskey - and if you're really not an experienced whiskey drinker, by all means ask for suggestions! The engaging and erudite Meredith set us up with a great one, and even provided us with the LCBO call number so we could buy it at home. Our courses arrived at just the right pace,... More

Absolutely fabulous food, amazing service and fabulous ambience. My family and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Dam Pub. The ambience in this restaurant brought us back to Scotland, the food was to die for, staff were courteous and efficient. The selection of Whisky was mind blowing. The owner's history was the cherry on top. Ace Aviator Gord Price... More
