This is a wonderful, traditional Michelin one-star restaurant. The food is outstanding and beautifully presented. Every dish of our preset lunch menu was a work of art. We received an excellent service from an English speaking waiter. It was an overall five-star experience. We stayed in the area for two weeks and really should have returned for more!! The village... Freaky fancy food! Very innovative take on french cuisine. They accommodated a large group of us (preparations made far in advance) and the service was out of this world

Excellent restaurant in a charming medieval town, the food is very good indeed as well as the service. They are deserving of their one Michelin star. I had a magnificent plate of salmon trout which was faultless! I followed with another starter of cep which was also delicious and light. I will return in a few days and looking forward... More

Part of maintaining a Michelin star is surely being able to understand the needs of your clients. We arrived with two small children who didn't want to eat the rich fois gras and caviar etc offered as amuses bouches. That didn't stop them charging us €60 for a plate of pasta and a plate of not very nice chips for... More

I visited the restaurant while hiking the gr10 route. I found out the restaurant has a michelin star after I booked a room at the hotel. So I thought it would make sense to give the restaurant a try. As you should expect this restaurant is more expensive then your average restaurant. If you are a fan of luxury food... More

Pilgrims need a great meal from time to time, and this is it. One understands why this place has a Michelin star. Local (Basque) cuisine, superbly done by a restaurant that has had generations of top-rated chefs. Attached to a hotel so open on days other restaurants are closed, though the chef must have his day off. I reserved, but... More

We were staying in St Jean for one night and wanted to have dinner in the best rated restaurant. We came here early as we hadn't reserved and were given a nice table just inside the large glass doors. We chose from the a la carte rather than the set menus. This turned out to include some unexpected chef's specials... More

Very good food, but not cheap. Ate in the dining room early and a bit formal although families present. Restaurant connected with hotel located conveniently in the middle of town.

The experience at this fourth generation restaurant in one of the prettiest places in France is incomparable! Each course was a work of art for the eyes as well as the taste buds. The service is perfect without being overbearing. I cannot praise the chef/owner enough!

This restaurant is the pinnacle of service and food in St. Jean although definitely not a place to take kids or a place for a casual meal. It is very pricey compared to the other places in town but the chef does a nice kob of taking local delicacies to a new height in different preparations and presentations. The service... More
