Having just finished two hours surfing, the boys were ravenous. We spotted this bistro close by and thought why not? Glad we did. Out of season so very quiet, which meant we got a table and served quickly. The food was excellent. Big portions and...More

Good food, safe menu but good quality. Reasonable too. Lovely views and nice craft beer selection. I'd say a perfect destination after a good cycle from the sound. Would recommend.

We had the nachos - huge portion size and really tasty. Good salsa, guac and sour cream and exvellent chips too. Service was friendly and quick. Would imagine it gets packed in the summet. Nice view of the bay from the window tables.

We came here for lunch on a classic Achill rainy day. This restaurant serves standard "beach" fare to tourists. It was bright and nicely decorated. The menu items were all the old standards and our choices (lamb-burgers, scampi, fish tacos) were utilitarian versions of these...More

We really liked this more informal, family style restaurant and dined there three times over six days. Great fish-n-chips and the lamb burger was outstanding. We especially enjoyed chatting with the staff who always seemed to have time for you. Liked the bright, wide open...More

I totally understand the situation with students it is the same in all rural areas. Unfortunately after trying a few places in Achill during our visit there you unfortunately seem to have been left with some of the worst. They have no interest in customer service or friendliness just seem to be clocking in their time to get paid at the end of the week. It makes the customers experience much more enjoyable if you have friendly staff who take a genuine interest in the customer. My family were so warmly welcomed last year the children looked forward to going back to see the nice lady who spoke to them , she even gave them a hug when they were going. I really hope you get your staff sorted soon or you may be left at the end of what is a very short season scratching your heads wondering what went wrong. Thank you for taking the time to reply to my query and I wish you luck for the remainder of your season.

Thank you for taking the time to ask us this question. On a place like Achill Island main workforce for seasonal businesses are local students. They eventually graduate and move on to do different things. This year we had... More
