We have eaten hear in the past when it was named I think The Oar House. Would have given a 4.5 but not offered. Had one piece fish and chips. Huge haddock filet with lots of fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. Fish was cooked to...perfection. My wife and I really enjoyed meal. We ate inside restaurant. Limited seating due to covid19. Would liked to have tried Digby clams but sold out. Maybe another time.More

We've eaten here before and we'll eat here again. A bit over $12.00 without tip.....that's what one piece fish and chips cost, Including tartar sauce plus coleslaw plus iced tea. I couldn't quite finish my meal; the piece of fish hung off both sides of...my plate. It was hot, fresh and tasty. The service is very personal; I ordered iced tea with ice and she brought it in a frosted mug. Thank you, On The Hook, it was a great meal.More

I review this restaurant when it was known as the best little oarhouse! The portion were large, we had the fish and chips ! The fish was cooked that it flaked off and not woodsy looking! The fries were home made, not crispy! The coleslaw...wasn’t crispy! The tarter sauce was mild with a nice taste! From the time we order to the time we receive our order was about 15 minutes! The coffee was mild and smooth tasting! The host were nice and pleasant! It was and enjoyable lunch!More

So friendly. The service is fast, friendly and the portions are more than adequate. They will allow substitutions of sides and are quite attentive to your needs. It is a very casual spot, small and busy.

Hubby and I had fish and chips here yesterday and then went to the attached Curry Express for Baklava. Loved it! One piece of fish was a good size and the fries and fresh cut. Enjoyed every bite and the staff were super friendly. Only...issue was it is hidden behind the curry express and was hard to tell if it was open or not. Very clean restaurant and tables are available inside and out. I will definitely eat here again - and definitely want to try the curry express. The smell in the place was sooooo good!More

This place is terrific! Coconut shrimp to die for. Really the best fish and chips whether pan fried or deep fried. Best burgers around also, big and juicy. Large portions also. Home made fries worth the calories. Im taking all my visitors here this summer...so they can experience good fish. Be Sure to read.the menu, very entertaining...not fancy but homey atmosphere.More

We have been here twice and found the food and service second to none. The fried fish is excellent and the Haddock Bits dish is enough to feed 2 never mind just the one.

The British know their fish and chips - and we were impressed. This place is very good. The fish was very fresh, well cooked and well presented. The portions were huge and well priced. The friendly helpful staff were very proud of this new restaurant...and it showed. Most definitely worth a visit.More

With new owners this has gone from "great food, awkward experience' to great food, great experience. I just hope the cozy seating and cutlery influence Curry Express next door. I have high expectations that the new owners will be able to retain staff and as...a result, great food every time. We love the fish and chips and the amazing burgers.More

We attended at this new restaurant recently for a nice meal of fish and chips. It was much cozier than the previous business and the seating arrangement was much more private than previously. We found both gentleman very friendly and helpful. We had one of...our favourite dishes, delicious fresh fish and chips with ample servings of coleslaw, tartar sauce and more home fries than I could eat. The prices are the same as before. We recommend this place wholeheartedly because we know you will enjoy the good food, friendliness of the staff and cozy environment any time of day.More
