I'm a regular customer of charlies and tonight just wasn't the same. We ordered 2 donair poutines. We were told 30 minutes but waited over an hour. The staff were rude, the fries were soggy and they forgot the donair sauce. Come on guys...
.Just wanted to order a pizza. Called and got some Hindi chick who I could not even understand. I said: "What is the best deal for twenty dollars?" And she said blah blah blah but then she said they had an 18 inch with three...toppings for 20 dollars. So I ordered it. 15 minutes later she calls me back and says they have to charge me 3.50 plus 1.50 for the three toppings as she had mis-quoted the price. I said well you never told me the correct price when I was ordering it, so I should get it free. Not the pizza, but the deal. She whines and says "But she already made it.."
sorry, not my problem... Then she says she has to talk to somebody and then comes back and says sorry, no, it will be 27 dollars. So I said fine, then I cancel my order. Then she says ok we will do it for the price originally stated. Then I wait another half hour and no pizza. So I call back and she says ok it is only 2-3 minutes away and you have to pay an extra 3 dollars for delivery, so with tax it will be 26 dollars..I say ok, just bring it over...then I wait another few minutes and still no pizza so then the phone rings and it is Charlie himself...he says :We can't give that pizza to you for twenty dollars. I say" Fine, nevermind, then hang up.More
Just got a donair from there. Absolutely disgusting. The meat tasted like hamburger loaded with pepper and really dry. I called to complain and got told to f%#k off and was hung up on. I have got pizza there in the past, but the toppings...are skimpy. When I buy something expect my moneys worth. Your not getting that here. noticed a guy working in the back whom looks like he just crawled out of a dumpster. I will never go there again.More
Service was great, price was biiiiiit on the pricey side but that's, ok. bit sad they did not have eat-in (even before covid-19) pizza and garlic fingers tasted AMAZING. a bit of a long wait but I do not mind. also there is deals galore,...perfect for a kids birthday party!More
Was surprised to see an online order option after visiting their website to view their menu. The 5% off coupon that was advertised on their website came up expired when I used the code. Ordered anyway. After 30 minutes I thought I'd call to see...what the wait time was as my checkout receipt didn't specify. When I phoned I was told "nothin came through online"...and.."sometimes the online ordering works and sometimes it doesn't". If a business can be that nonchalant about their ordering service working... I have no desire to attempt to re-order from them.More
We stopped in for a quick 'n easy meal, double bacon cheeseburger and single plain cheeseburger, and two large fries. We didn't think to check the prices given it was such a simple meal, so imagine our shock when we saw the bill for $24+....One large fries is enough for two adults with leftovers, so keep that in mind. They were the nice home style fries you often get at a chip wagon in a peat dish, although a bit soggy. $3.99 for a large that'll modestly feed a family of four is pretty good.
The double burger ... what a mess. Bacon was good, I'll give them that. The patties are large, thick and compacted for a very filling bite. It would've been a very dry beef, but luckily they smothered it in ketchup and mustard to the point where you can't even taste the meat. Thankfully the bacon was still palatable. Should you wish to try the burgers, be sure to ask them to go easy on the condiments.
We will not be trying the burgers again primarily due to the prices. Yes, pub prices for burger and fries are comparable, but this is a road side restaurant with much poorer quality and presentation. The prices should reflect what you get and in this case the difference is staggering.More
