First off, they tell you on the menu they aren't fast food and the food is cooked to order. One of my sisters complained about the slow wait, but I reminded her it was *explicit* on the menu. We ordered a lobster dip for an...appetizer. The complaining sister and I enjoyed it. The chips were nice and fresh. I ordered the 2 piece fish and chips. So much fish! I'm used to Captain D's fish and chips in the southern US. One of these planks was about the size of 2 of the Captain's. I enjoyed the plank I was able to eat. My BIL was able to enjoy the other piece.More
We have driven great distances to eat in shabby restaurants and paid much more for sub par food. This place is amazing! You really have to eat your way through the menu. The food is incredible. Like the guy on tv used to say “...you gotta eat here”.More
We heard great things about this restaurant so we decided to try it while we were visiting. The fish was fine, but we both ordered gravy, one was beige one was brown and both were not good at all. I ordered liver and onions which...was the special. I asked for an extra piece (I Love Liver) but no bacon and no veggies. So it came with Bacon and Vegies not a problem, but the liver was like shoe leather. I picked at the prices and found a few edible pieces but left 80 percent. My husband ate his fish but I don't think we would return. However, the restaurant and bathroom was spotless and our server was very pleasant and polite. Maybe just a bad kitchen day.More
We came across here as nowhere else was open to eat in town and it wasn't a bad thing. Fish and chips, seafood au gratin, kids meals...all good tasting and decent portion size. But be prepared for really slow service and long waits for the...food to come.More
Dinner on a summer evening. Place was packed, frequently short line - always a good sign. Nova Scotia family style restaurant. Large & varied menu. Good seafood & desserts. We had an excellent, helpful, experienced waitress.
Lots of Fisherman platter, I had the seafood linguine and there was 7 of us. Service was good and friendly and the food was fantastic, big portion with quality ingredients .. we loved it and will return each time we are back east
I was head several years ago with a friend and ordered the half lobster sandwich and seafood chowder. Back then, it was great. Ordered it today and it was so different. The chowder was good, but tiny. The lobster sandwich was hardly that. It was...like it was put through a blender with some other meat. It didn’t taste anything like lobster. The texture was that of “mush”. The taste was “musty”. I complained but got no apology or anything else. I never leave food on a plate when I eat out. I sent back a good bit of the sandwich. It was a waste of $15.More
The two piece haddock fish and chip was very bad. The fish was yellow, a sure sign of old, it should have been a bright white. I know because Im a retired fisherman. Possibly freezer old. Chips were ok. But $18 for a two piece...is expensive especially for just chips as the fish was Almost inedible. Waves is off my local restaurant list. My phone number is 9025277084 if anybody would like further information.More
Food was pretty good overall. Service was quick with no real big complaints other than we found it boring. Seems to be a local favourite
My sister and I went to the Wave this summer, it is one of my fav spots to eat in Bridgewater. However I was disappointed my sister could not order from the children's menu, no reason giving to her. Why is that? She is a...senior and has tummy issues and only eats very small meals. She thought the child's size would be prefect and no food wasted. Maybe have a senior menu with less food and less cost than the regular menu.More
Stopped for a reminiscent bite to eat. Ate here a lot as a teenager. Always great food. I tried the fish burger. It was very good, but really didn’t need the generic cheese slice. Amazing fish and chips. Great coffee. Great service. I’ll be back.
This place is super clean. Excellent fish and chips. I really don't like tartar sauce but the one I received was amazing !!
Went to Waves last month and ordered fish and chips which is probably their signature meal. I have been there before and have always enjoyed it. Unfortunately this time in the two piece order the haddock fillets were somewhat bland and “off tasting” and I...only ate one piece. I mentioned this to the nice waitress who served me when I paid the bill. I think I will wait until I see some good reviews before I go back.More
