The restaurant's location and atmosphere are amazing, everything seems to be in harmony. I loved the old entrance with the tight staircase and low ceiling to get into the restaurant. The hospitality is great, the staff is very friendly and helpful, with good food recommendation. I loved the bar with its rooftop viewing vejer's and the surrounding landscape. Delicious Moroccan... The most delicious Moroccan food I've ever had. Reservation essential. BBQ chicken was memorable. Loved it!

This is THE destination restaurant in town*. The combination of the venue, food and service make it a must. Have cocktails first at their adjacent Teteria bar and you have an unbeatable night out. You are going to pay a bit more than elsewhere but it is worth it. It is the ancient building which frames the dining experience; wherever... More

Three of us had lunch here today because the restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel in Córdoba. We ordered the Sebu salad and two mezzes. The salad was OK but nothing special with iceberg lettuce, red grapefruit, walnuts and sliced cherry tomatoes and an insipid dressing. The mezzes were delicious. The Chefs mezze consisted of samples of traditional Moroccan... More

For those who like arabic food, you should definitely go there. Reserve in advance in the garden. Busy location, but cosy. Friendly staff and excellent service.

About an hour away from our residence in Costa Ballena, this made for a great day trip. Reservations are highly recommended. We opted for lunch right when they opened. We were seated in the Aljibe section and felt like we had our own private dining room. Lots of choices to choose from! We opted for lamb kebabs, shish taouk (basically... More

Visited here twice during our recent 2 week stay in Vejer. Service was excellent, food some of the best we had on our trip and prices comparable with other restaurants in the area. Lovely setting either in the covered courtyard or in the garden. Highly recommended.

Positioning itself entirely apart from anywhere else in Vejer (open all day from 1pm until 12am, super-efficient service, no traditional tapas dishes on offer), this place is a refreshing experience. The building is fascinating (be prepared to get a little lost), the staff are very friendly and the food is delicious. Tagines, fish kebabs and babaganoush are just a few... More

Had lunch here today and it didn't disappoint. The smells from the coals are lovely as you enter the courtyard. It is a lovely sun trap on a good day with plenty of shady spots too. The food was tasty and there were so many appetising options that it made it difficult to narrow the menu down to just 2-3... More

Vejer is a hors concourse city. This pueblo blanco have in El Jardin del Califa an apart atraction. The Andaluzian cousine in his state of art in a mystic ambiente. The entrée with typical pitta bread and homus seems like a huntdred years ago. We also eat lamb and a couzcouz tajine with a marvelous Andaluzian withe wine. All was... More

Description
Vejer's most popular restaurant has stone vaulted dining rooms and a lush palm-filled courtyard set in an emblematic 16th century building. 'The Caliph's Garden' is one of Andalucia's prime eating destinations. You will be served fabulous North African & Middle Eastern food in a historic, tranquil & unsurpassed setting in the heart of Vejer's medieval quarter. Overlooking the palm filled square of the medieval quarter the Jardín del Califa is inspired by the Moorish rule of Vejer over 700 years ago. The Jardin del Califa is set in one of Vejer's most important historic buildings. The principal building dates from 1527 (and includes parts from the 11th Century) and is now a grade 1 listed monument. The stone clad dining rooms and the palm filled courtyard are the perfect company for your meal with us. Come to the Califa and you will enjoy tasty dishes, stone vaulted cellars, an enchanted garden, a splashing fountain and scented plants. The haven of this quiet corner in the heart of Vejer will provide you with many memorable moments.
