oh dear - I wrote a review a year ago and praised the place as we had a lovely meal and super afternoon. Sadly I can't do the same today. Warm Prosecco, so we asked for 2nd bottle to be chilled a good half hour...More

Feeling thirsty so (unusually) ordered half a pint of coke. Almost experienced heart failure when I was asked for £2.75. Wasn't even 'the real thing' was off the tap. AND more than half a pint! Not exactly encouraging the designated driver. 🙄

We visited the Phoenix yesterday for lunch. Steve was very friendly and had remembered us booking the evening before and had reserved us a lovely window seat table overlooking the garden and river which was a delight to view all the boats sailing by. We...More

Went for dinner last night. I remember they used to have a Thai menu but that's all changed to burgers, hot dogs and chicken dishes. We ordered two half chickens with 2 sides each. £13 per order. Staff very friendly. We sat outside by the...More

This is a great location on the river and the garden is extensive. Lunch menu limited and the 2 salads we ordered were very disappointing - for £10 - no imagination whatsoever. Food delivered by very friendly staff though.More

We have visited the Phoenix several times. The garden is really lovely - backs onto the River Thames - where you can watch the boats go up and down the river. There are lots of seats available - mostly benches with parasols. The Phoenix is...More

We had lunch at the Phoenix. The food is no good for human consumption. The staff didn't ask us how the food was despite 90% of the food was left on our plates. The food was cold, dry and the chips tasted like they were...More

This gastro pub has yet to rise from the ashes! It's in a loveley position on the river at Sunbury, yet does not make the most of its favourable setting. It's tired, needs a good scrub and clean! (Especially the toilets? Quite disgusting!) However nothing...More

Description
The Phoenix has recently been purchased by Authentic Pub Co who are in the process of drawing up plans for a major refurbishment of the pub and garden. In the meantime we have given the place a thorough clean and 'blitzed' the beer and lager lines. We now serve a range of well kept beer and lager. We have put a small but carefully selected wine menu in which offers a range of wines by both the glass and bottle. We have totally redesigned the menu and now offer a selection of freshly prepared dishes including home made pies and burgers. We hope to close in January for our refurbishment but will keep you posted closer to the time, in the meantime we hope you enjoy the little changes we have made. Hope to see you all soon.
