We went for the first time recently and were very impressed. There is a nice atmosphere inside and the staff were all very friendly. The food was delicious, with plenty of nice choices on the specials board. The lamb rump and the hake were both lovely. Would recommend a visit.

We have visited this venue many times now. The food has always been delicious. The staff are lovely. The only problem is getting a table as it is very popular, but so worth a little wait.

Celebrated our Mum's 80th Birthday with 2 to 3 course Sunday lunch for 25 people. Due to our number we had the upstairs room to ourselves, which we was able to decorate. We food ordered in advance for ease and the whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Kirsten, Julian and their team were exceptionally accommodating and looked after our... More

Came in for lunch to catch up with a friend who had recommended this place. The pub has a very nice ambience and the staff are friendly and helpful. There were three beers on offer, two local and an Adnams if I remember correctly. I suppose the only let down was the steak and stilton pie. There was plenty of... More

We visited The Bell for the first time a week ago, what a pleasant surprise. A lovely old traditional pub, with a warm welcome for us and our dog. A good selection of well kept beer (according to the better half who's a bit of an afficionado) and very good selection of dishes on the menu. This is not the... More

Half way round a nice long walk we stopped here for lunch. We were accommodated without booking and it filled up over lunch. The Hophead Dark Star we had was very well kept. We shared some whitebait to start which was very nicely cooked and I had calves liver to follow. I like it a bit pink so I should... More

9 of us went for a Christmas get together and chose The Bell at Purleigh as it's quite local and central to us all. We have visited before and always find the atmosphere very friendly and welcoming, from both customers and the landlord/staff. After a few pre lunch drinks we went to our table and ordered our food. The choice... More
