The Red Lion in Stratton Audley is definitely worth a visit. This is a lovely thatched cottage pub in a good village. The meal and atmosphere were excellent and the Landlord is very friendly and welcoming. It really enhanced our recent stay in North Oxfordshire.

dropped in today as we were peckish and saw the ad board from the roadside, village pub in an Oxfordshire village, friendly staff and a reasonable pub food menu, ordered, food was a little slow to arrive (but we weren't complaining).. this was pre-empted by being told that chef had said that the chicken was taking time to cook as... What a hidden gem. A very welcoming establishment with great vibes. The food was fantastic and well presented. It arrived in good time and was delivered by a very pleasant, well presented waitress who tended to our every need. We will be back to try moreof the fabulous offerings on the menu.

Thank you for your review. I'm slightly surprised at your comments now because at the time you said everything was lovely. We did change your veg straight away, and apologised profusely, after which we checked with you at various times, and you never mentioned the veg being al dente or the coffee being luke warm. We always try to fix... More

I took a friend to the Red Lion for an evening meal as I've eaten many good lunches here so we arrived on a Friday, early evening for dinner. We asked to sit by the fire but were told the table was reserved and were shown to another table in a very chilly corner. Our very helpful waitress noticed I... More

Being mid-December we booked a table to be on the safe side as we were two couples travelling from opposite ends of the country, but we were both held up because of road closures. The staff welcomed us, offered us a choice of tables and were attentive, but not invasive, throughout. The selection of food was characteristic of an independent... More

Nice friendly village pub The service was good and the lunch was ok. Having had a few Christmas meals this year I felt that it was a little expensive at £15 for a very average Turkey dinner and a bowl of ice cream.

A truly fantastic country pub situated in the beautiful Village of Stratton Audley. I recommend this place highly as it is true farm to table and amazing value for money! You really get a great meal, I honestly don't think they quite realise how food they are! If your in the area then you have to check this place out!

We were made very welcome at this venue and felt the right vibes as soon as we walked in. Popular with locals ( always a good sign ), the service was excellent and the waitress was very friendly and efficient. Food was good with nice fresh vegetables and the portions generous without being gross.Three of us had the roast lamb... More
