I have been to Newfoundland 4 times so far, and I really like this restaurant. I always make it my go to place for dinner when arriving on the ferry and the night before I leave. While not a 5 star restaurant, I find the...food is authentic and there is lots of it. Almost too much food. The chowder is delicious and thick. It is a meal in itself. My only wish is that they offered it as a cup size instead of just a bowl. I had the cod fish dinner, which also had a lot of food. It was delicious. The veges seemed to be frozen veges, but hard to tell as they were steamed to death. I took a homemade partridge berry pie to go as the soup and meal were huge portions. I have eaten at other restaurants in the area, and I have to say this is my favorite.More

As a visitor to the beautiful west coast of NL, I am shocked that this fish and seafood restaurant has no fresh fish or seafood. Everything ruined by breading, frying and serving with a heaping pile of fries. Would have loved a fresh piece of...fish baked in the oven. Add in frozen vegetables and you get what this restaurant is all about. Totally disappointed. What I have learned since being here, is this is what Newfoundlander’s want. Shame, eh? Desserts were awful as well. Cheapest ice cream money can buy and a squeeze out of plastic bottle of ‘caramel sauce’.More

Awesome place. 10 min out of port aux basques. Views are terrific. Place low key. Service very friendly. Slow but friendly. A tad disorganized. Food Delish. Had the deluxe chowder. Graced with Mussels and cod tongue . A meal in of itself. Husband had the...Donair on flatbread. Huge. Took food to go for ferry. Chowder. Quesadilla club sandwich. Staff concerned to ensure we kept food cold till we eat. Caring Best nfld kind of meal for the end of our 3 weeks on the rockMore

We are there for two suppers while we were staying in the area! It was great food both times and the service was impeccable! There is a kids menu that is very reasonably priced and my kids loved everything they got. I had pan fried...cod the first night and fish cakes the veins night… both meals were delicious! I had a piece of partridgeberry pudding with caramel sauce that was just like my grandmother made. Overall wonderful dinners both nights! This is a very busy restaurant! They recommend reservations. We had to wait 30 mins the first night and got in right away the second night.More

Had never heard about this place until in Port Aux Basques to get the ferry (arrived a few hours early) and someone mentioned that it was good, but closing soon for the winter. To pass some time we drove to Rose Blanche with no real...intention of going there. On the way back we went into Margaree and were surprised to see a full parking lot in this tiny community, so we had to check it out. It was pretty crowded but service was quick. They didn’t have a full menu as only 2 days from closing for winter. Wife and I had shrimp and scallop baskets which we shared. Basket had a dozen in it and they were both delicious. Price was very reasonable at $18, compared to seafood at other restaurants we’ve been to. Had bread pudding for dessert; a treat at home which I’ve never see before in a restaurant. Warm, sweet, and delicious as well. Well worth the short drive if in the Port Aux Basques areaMore

Seafood restaurant about 10 minutes outside Port aux Basques - east along the southern shore. This restaurant is definitely worth the drive! Absolutely excellent food! Delicious, hot, large portions, excellently priced and the staff were so friendly. This is a must try location where you...will not be disappointed. They have a vast array of meals to choose from, not just seafood. We were also surprised at how fast the meals were prepared.More

From the outside it is hard to tell what a great restaurant it is. Once inside you see a very nicely appointed place to eat. All of our lunch, scallops, fish cakes, mussels and bread pudding was excellent! In fact, we believe this was the...best meal we’ve had in NL. The service was great and our server made us feel right at home. We will be back!More
