We are passionate about serving delicious, wholesome food prepared from scratch. Our cafe is located in the heritage cottage next to Mouat’s in the heart of Ganges village on beautiful Salt Spring Island. We are a one of a kind restaurant and music venue with live music under the stars every night of the summer featuring some of the best live music you will hear anywhere.

My wife had the burger, cooked medium, little bit of pink in middle and delish. Good club sandwich as well. Cheery good staff in a unique little place built round a tree. Cozy and enjoyable, good music playing.

A friend highly recommended and we were not disappointed. The food was outstanding.
We both had salmon. My wife loved her salmon sandwich (served on a ciabatta bun) and I loved my salmon filet that was served with perfectly prepared seasonal veg.
Our server Ellie was just okay....just kidding, she was terrific!!! It is no wonder she has been a long time employee. A very charming and humourous young lady.
This restaurant is a must! Kudos to the owners, kitchen staff and servers.
Thank you for the exceptional meals.

We stopped at the Treehouse for dinner shortly after it opened again with new Covid rules in June,for dinner. The singer for the evening (each night in summer) was local Alan Moberg. Being from Williams Lake, we requested his original WL Stampede song and he generously sang that and his Walk in his Moccasins, song as well. Great night and wonderful food. Try the crispy and delicious local white Ortega wine from Kutata winery grown right here on Salt Spring Island. Thanks for great service.

My wife and I went for breakfast and we were really impressed, delicious meal we will definitely go back for again. Due to Covid they could only have so many tables inside so they blew up their patio size to accommodate everyone, very hard working staff. This place is a MUST go for breakfast, their lunches sound good but we were not there for that. My wife had their beans with breakfast and she was overjoyed with how delicious they were.

Chose this place for lunch based on reviews and what was open on Sunday. Food was good (not great), and a bit expensive; my curry bowl with chicken was about $22. But maybe prices are due to organic and free range ingredients (a plus, in my book). The host and waitstaff seemed businesslike rather than friendly, as though tired of crowds or something. Maybe just an off day. FYI, this place is not a great choice if it’s raining, since only a few tables are completely covered. All in all, a cute spot in a shopping area, with pretty good food.

I went today at 6 pm (Sep 29, 2021) for a take out order. I was excited to try the food here due to the positive feedback. Placed my order which is a beef burger around 6:15. I was told it will be ready in 10-15 min. At 6:30, I checked in and they informed that they are still working on it. At 6:45 still working on it. At 7 pm the newly trained staff told me that they don’t have my order anymore because she accidentally gave my burger to another customer so they will start making it after 7 pm! Very unfortunate experience on my first visit to the island. I just canceled the order n walker away. They didn’t seem sorry about what happened and regular staff were covering up for the mistake and said to each other that’s what happens when we are short staffed. Be prepared to wait for your food and give your order to a senior staff so it doesn’t end up “accidentally” with another customer

After visiting the market we went for a late breakfast at the Tree-House Cafe. Our table was in the restaurant but was open to the outside with the sun beaming down along with a huge tree in the middle. The scrambled eggs and seed toast was hot and delicious as well as the espresso. Our server, tyger, was friendly and attentive. Nice spot to have breakfast or lunch.

First the actual food. The cake was nice and coffee and tea was delicious. We just wanted a mid afternoon break on the patio to wind down from our long walk around town. Our waitress was good too. If it was only that I’d give them a 5.
It started halfway through our time there when someone came and asked if they could have our hot sauce off our table. A few minutes later the same person, whom we now realized was staff, asked for our sugar container. She took it but I was still waiting for my tea so we asked for it back. We didn’t get it back but asked how many packets we wanted.
It was now we realized they were setting up for supper and felt rushed to finish the drinks and dessert we hadn’t received yet. A nice visit to a “cafe” turned into feeling rushed to move on for what felt like the “important” supper guests.
I get it’s a busy time for you but if you need to rush about getting ready while customers are still enjoying their time with you maybe you need to close for an hour. Also, Covid is rampant, someone leaning over our table twice to fetch items on the far side isn’t what people who specifically asked for a patio seat want, nor you handing me individual packets of sugar instead of the container. Less handling is important.
I’d return to your place, I understand it was just bad timing, but I have to review you based on that experience, which was good food and service hurt by a rushed atmosphere from staff. I’m sure it would be better next time.

I love this restaurant! Whenever I go to Salt Spring Island, I always have to visit this restaurant. The tree growing in the restaurant lends itself to that wonderful Salt Spring charm. Food is consistently good and offers a good selection of vegetarian dishes, if you are so inclined. Great music in the summer evenings makes this an added treat. I highly recommend this restaurant for a true Salt Spring experience!

We didn’t wait the first time we went and almost didn’t wait the second time we tried to go there but by the end of our stay on Saltspring we had been for breakfast, lunch and dinner there. We did get some strange looks ! Such tasty food, great food and really friendly service. We can particularly recommend the lamb shanks with prunes and olives for dinner but all our choices were delicious.

It is an uninsulated, very windowed cafe built around a tree. We had sandwiches and soup. The red pepper soup was spicy. The sandwiches were good although I would have liked more cream cheese on the chicken/cranberry sandwich and I thought a club house sandwich had 3 pieces of bread. Although tasty, we found it very expensive for what we got. Not likely to return.

My favorite restaurant in the Ganges. From the variety of delicious salads, burgers and desserts ( cherry cheesecake and chocolate torte are to die for) and then the signature cocktails all reasonably priced and live music every evening 6-9pm, This restaurant emits a great village vibe that is obviously extremely popular.
Outdoor patio is pet friendly including dog water bowls and plenty of umbrellas to enjoy a little shady breeze on the water.
Facility is clean, and I love that they support all natural local soap in the washroom.
One of my favorite servers is Caitlyn who truly understands and loves the service industry.
This is a must dining enjoyment if you are on Salt Springs Island!

We just wanted a coffee and stayed for more. They had a great ale on tap and we accompanied it with the muesli cheese - absolutely fantastic, as it was served with mango and ginger sauce and naan. Kind of pricey at nearly 18$ but worth it. Afterwards we tried the daily dessert which was a chocolatey ’cake’. As it is made of chocolate and butter, with some caramel taste and whipped cream, it is better shared.

Quirky little restaurant but the food is excellent. We had the salmon sandwich (amazing wild salmon) and the spicy chicken wrap which was also delicious. All washed down with a couple of glasses of white wine.

I tell people, amazing food, terrible service and everytime I go there it rings truer and truer! Ignored by the hostess, waiting 20 minutes to see a server, being told by the server she forgot you were even there, no check backs, water refills, etc. However, the food is AMAZING and worth the sacrifice of service. Wish I could tip the kitchen staff and not front of house.
