Anna is an amazing cook. It's incredible what elaborate dishes she prepares with the limited kitchen space she has. Some of the best lobster we have had. She was always ready to prepare a meal regardless of time and always with a smile. The staff...was available at any time to bring you a cold drink/cerveza. This resort is remote, so if you don't pack in your own food, then Ceviche is it. We chose to not bring in any food (just some Flor De Cana 7) and we were not disappointed with Ceviches. In addition, if you want something special, Yader will go to town to get it for you.More
This place is now AMAZING! I have eaten at this restaurant before and it was good but took us almost 4 hours to get fed....the new chef Luis was amazing!!!! The lobster (i think you might need to pre-order it) and the snapper, was AMAZING...(I am a very critical restaurant eater) and even more shocking, the accompanying dishes (which I rarely eat-the beans and plantains) were also very very good. I ate mine and my kids'. It still takes a crazy long time to get food but now about 2 hours instead of 4.....if you have kids, bring snacks and books to read or call in your order. But a very very good place to eat with reasonable prices and a nice beachfront location....good job Luis!More
My friends and i just had the best vacation ever at Playa Tesora !!! Very friendly n helpful staff and the food at the resturant was amazing !!!! I would recommend anyone that goes there to order the shrimp !! Luis is a great cook...! We all agree that the best part of our stay was the boogie boarding !!!More
So the restaurant is the only one within an hour that serves anything close to North American standards. It is on a beautiful isolated beach that has some rental accommodations along it. The menu is limited and they may not always have everything on it,...however if you plan ahead and let them know you are coming they will get what ever you want including lobster, fish, etc fresh caught from the local fishermen. The food quality was excellent, Luis was the cook on staff when we were there and he is phenomenal.More
The fish was particularly amazing. Obviously just caught as it was tender and moist. The Caribbean spice was something my sons and I have never tasted before. When my 13 year old son lights up and orders a second round of dinner, it has to...be outstanding. The ocean waves, the great people in the other casitas, the fresh water pool... it is great. The three of us ate 2 meals a day here for 10 days straight. I cooked nothing. That is a quality break for Dad.More
Thank you for your nice review. In the coming months, we will be expanding Ceviche's to the clubhouse lot at Playa Tesoro. The new 1000 sq foot rancho is all done now and next we start the bathrooms and kitchen. We currently making the new...More
This is not by any means a proper restaurant. It is a casita that food is prepared in, and the "dinning room" is a small outside patio. There is no chef, and just this morning a staff members boyfriend showed up and was allowed to...cook guests food. No health and safety precautions are taken when preparing food. I personally experienced a live worm in my food, and since then I have not eaten at the "restaurant". Prices are never consistant and change depending on who is cooking. The garbage from the rental casitas (containing bathroom waste) is dumped right beside the restaurant, resulting in swarms of flies and other insects. This is the only eating establishment around. Its unfortunate that the restaurant is so disappointing, because the beach view is really beautiful.More
Hi folks, Yes, it's is not a Canadian restaurant. We are on the beach pennisula, with no food services of any kind for 6 plus kilometres. Please bring any future issues to our attention right away. You were at the restaurant again tonight and I...More
Dining on this patio all alone with the waves is very relaxing. It's a long way to anywhere else serving anything at this caliber. Delish fish dinners and breakfasts too. It was a nice surprise when a Nica motorcycle riding family came out of the...dark night and shared beers, as this is the ONLY local entertainment! Next door casitas are for rent and you can make a day of it with some surfing or exploration. Turtles are known to nest right by this place in season. Really cool experience.More
Thanks dharma, appreciate the review. Look forward to seeing you again soon. The paddle boards await you!
Great food on an isolated beach. Only restaurant in the area. Sergio does a great job. The fish fillet or whole fish are delicious. The fish was usually caught hours before being served. Try the ceviche. Delicious. The meals come with a huge plate of...assorted vegetables.More
Thank you Maeva, we appreciate your business. The fresh snapper or flounder is really nice. Sergio is doing a great job.
During our stay at Playa Trésor we ate daily at Ceviche Bar and Grill and were always happy with our meal. Sergio is a great cook. He is also an even better teacher... for those interested in learning about the preparation of Nicaraguan food.
Thank you, it was a pleasure to have you at the resort.
I think that Playa Tesoro means HIDDEN TREASURE, and John and Geoff's little resort / development an hour from Leon, is just that! A JEWELL ON THE CENTRAL AMERICAN COAST that is a real FIND. Isolated and away from the grind of the hectic cities...of Nicaragua, the three cabanas that the Bramwell Brothers rent out are a real quiet and unique get-a-way, that are worth the bumpy road to get there. The purple, orange and yellow cabanas are big, spacious and new. They are hidden away well off the beaten track at the end of a seldom traveled road. The beach is clean and close to the Cabanas from doors. The waves of the ocean are close enough to hear all night long and great to fall asleep to. And the hammock on the cabana's front porches are comfy, soft and carefully hung to gently sway in the tropical breeze. Just like Nicaragua, this place has yet to be really discovered. So a holiday there now is a unique and refreshing experience. Sergio who manages the place is a prince of a guy! A problem solver, good cook, accommodating local interpetur, patient guide, and even keeled all round nice guy. John whatever you are paying him - double it! If you are looking for an off the beaten track, quiet and undiscovered place to go - then find some Treasure at Playa Tesoro. A bit hard to get to - but worth it!More
Thanks dave and Jeannie, much appreciated. It was so neat that you two travelled by bike and had such a great experience. I think by bike is a even better way to travel and I think I'm going to encourage more to bike down here....More
During our stay at Playa Tesoro - we ate at the Ceviche Bar and Grill everyday during our honeymoon vacation. Chef Sergio was attentive to our needs and tickled our taste buds with his culinary creations - all made from scratch. Chef Sergio always made...sure our meals were fresh - purchased daily from local farmers and fisherman. The meals were exceptional, everything from traditional Nicaraguan cuisine to a good ol burger and fries - all by request and at a great price. I really miss his breakfast pancakes - the best banana pancakes I've ever had - along with fresh squeezed orange juice. We certainly will be back - and thanks to Chef Sergio for helping to make our honeymoon so tasty!More
Thanks Ted. Yes, we get a lot of compliments on the food and we are constantly striving to improve. We just added full service WIFI to ceviche bar & grill & 18 new chairs. We added a transporter and expanding the rentals (paddle boards, boogie...More
