I got lots of personal recommendations for the NC500 but this was the only one for the whole of the east coast. I was expecting a little community run coffee stop in a village hall or garden shed or something, so this place blew me...More

My family and I did the NC500 last week and stopped to see the Whaligoe Steps. We saw it had a cafe so we decided to have lunch too. Well, this was the biggest surprise of the whole trip! Cafe just does not do it...More

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your lunch, we cook everything from scratch on the premises, and love to have seasonal choices. Everything is cooked in small batches, 8 - 10 portions are typical, so there are always things that are not available - but...More

Had lunch here today, with my Aunt from Canada, Absolutely delicious, I only live an hour from here, and can't believe I haven't been before. Best Cullen skink ever and delicious fresh crab in hearth bread, finished with caramelised apple and cinnamon crepe.😚 My aunt...More

First visit for lunch today with my 2 cousins was absolutely amazing. Garlic hearthbread was to die for. We then shared a garlic & chilli crushed potato galette, pork & beef chilli with nachos & sour cream and coconut & chilli potato cakes. All home...More

This was a great find on our North Coast 500 trip. Must stop by for a spot of delicious lunch. The smoked salmon salad was the best I have ever had. Welcoming and friendly place with perfect view and amazing food. Perfect stop!

Came across this by accident whilst doing the North Coast 500 last month. Saw no mention of it, or the Steps, on the official NC500 website, although Walk Highlands do feature it in their recommendations. Loved it. Nicely decorated and a great view of the...More

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your visit to the cafe, just one correction - dogs are welcome inside - but we have a policy of asking any customers who are already in the cafe if they are bothered by dogs, should someone want to...More

We stopped here after we climbed down the Whaligoe steps and back. The decor and the place was a lovely surprise and the staff were super friendly. I am gluten and dairy free and when I asked if there was anything for me the chef/owner...More

Lovely little cafe. Everything is cooked fresh to order. As a result of this, food can take its time to come, but it's worth the wait. While you wait for your food you can have some home-made lemonade or an excellent range of teas/coffees and...More
