We had dinner at the Dock 'N' Duck three times in the six days we were in the area. All the meals we had were excellent and the service was very good. The view of the Kootenay Lake and the ferry added to our good experience.

This is one of our usual stops when we are out at our cottage on Kootenay Lake. Staff are always friendly and do their best! They go above and beyond for those taking the ferry to ensure their drinks and food come out in time for them to get to their vehicles and board on time! They have put in... More

We made the mistake of going here on Mother's Day. The place was packed and we had to wait for over an hour for our meal. Food was good when it finally came. View of the lake shore is beautiful and if the weather is nice, sitting on the deck would be awesome.

Go for the ribs full size portion. While you are at it get one of their honey lagers. Awesome service, great views, tasty delicious ribs all for a good price.

My wife and I came over the border for a couple of days. Unfortunately a lot of places don't open until May...a couple days short. We left Castlegar this morning and drove Hey 6, 28, and 31 to get here. Nothing was open for the last 6 hours. I just happened to pull into the parking lot for the ferry... More

I had arranged to meet a friend for dinner at this pub. I ordered a soda, while I waited, and perused the menu. The pub had about 10 tables busy when I came in, and I chose a table for us to sit at. The server came by and proceeded to 'dis' foodies for giving this place low marks for... More

Busy little place on the lake, great food, almost too many choices on the menu. We had two children under two and the staff ordered the kids food and we leisurely read the BIG menu. The food was excellent and very good sized portions, we all had enough left over for lunch the next day. Our only problem was they... More

Our staff really try with children. Glad to hear your server was on the ball. We also work hard to ensure hearty portions. This time of year appropriate staffing levels can be a balancing act. We go by historic numbers but occasionally get caught by a rush. We're glad your experience remained positive. More

Food was tasty, but like the other reviews... overpriced for what you get. My complaint is for my side I ordered a standard salad (one of the choices) then was told I have to pay extra because of the produce prices...yet if I ordered the fresh veges as a side there would be no charge... I asked what was the... More

We lucked out with this place. They just recently reopened for the season. It's nice to have somewhere decent to eat in town as Nelson is a 30 minute drive away. I had the burger and it was very tasty. I always prefer when a restaurant makes their own patties and they did not disappoint. I think our table had... More

Thanks for the thumbs up. We truly appreciate the kind words. The Dock n Duck is a recognized Gold Standard Cerrified Angus Beef provider. There's no filler in that home-made, flame-broiled burger.. and no preservatives, no antibiotics... (Couldn't resist putting in a plug :) Thanks again. More

This place is slow with mediocre overpriced food. Best to eat in Nelson or Kaslo/Ainsworth and avoid it completely.

This review was written while we were closed for the winter. We reopened March 15th, 2017 after closing for the season in October 2016. We take our reviews seriously, but ask anyone reading this thread to please take this comment with a grain of salt. It was written over four months after we had closed for the winter. More
