This place is excellent. Authentic puerto Rican food with caribbean flare. Prices reasonablue, and extensive menu. Personable service. They even had chicken and French fries for my picky 11 year old.

This place caters to local folks, and feels very much like a home cooking place. I had the whole red snapper. My wife had the mofongo with shrimp. Both were good, and we would definitely go back next time we're in Guanica.

Great place to hang out, enjoy a cool drink and quick bite to eat. Alternatively, you can try a heavier plate -- home made! Try the "trifongo" with your choice beef, chicken or shrimp. Delish! Great prices for yummy puertorrican comfort food. The service maybe...More

I'll throw out there that I'm not a big fan of Puerto Rican cruise. For me, it's too sweet and bland. So I wasn't having high hopes visiting this place. First, the seating area was comfortable and there were plenty of fans. Some would say...More

I stopped in here with a couple of girlfriends on a girls' weekend trip and found this restaurant to be very enjoyable. The man helping us was very hospitable and pleasant! I enjoyed my dinner, chicken breast with a tomato sauce, corn sticks, and rice/beans...More

I am a foodie at heart, a fan of "blow your mind" hole-in-the-wall kind of unassuming places. So when I drove up to Brisas del Mar, having heard that they specialized in fresh seafood I was not put off by the run-down look of the...More

The service was great and the food was delicious. They even had live entertainment on a Thursday. Getting there from our hotel was in minutes. Great place to go, would go again in the future.

Thanks Drahcir319! My question was directed to Suzzanna101 from Seattle, Washington who made the remarks about a pricey menu including the items mentioned above (escargot, ice cream and scallops). I agree with your comment: never seen those as part of Brisas del Mar's menu!

I have known, visited and enjoyed Brisas del Mar for many years, but never seen Escargot, risotto, ice cream with almond brittle on the menu... nor has been offered to me as a new delight... Respectfully, are you sure you are reviewing the right place? Just out of curiosity and fairness to this business. Thank you for visiting Guanica, and I hope you return and have a better experience next time!

Hi! I'm reviewing Brisas del Mar across from the Boardwalk, in Guánica. They don't have or serve escargot, risotto nor ice cream in their menu. I am pretty sure that in any of my reviews I mention such things. Thank you... More

Description
I visited this restaurant on the Guanica broadwalk two weeks ago and found it small and with few tables, unlike those I have visited in “La Parguera” and “Combate”. The owner is an excellent host that welcomes you with great joy. The owner is also the bartender and waiter. All tables were full, which was the main reason to enter the restaurant (I think if the place is busy it’s have to be good).
The atmosphere of the place is like the ones on the fishing village of Piñones in the Metropolitan shore of the Island. The bar has a giant TV screen where you can watch videos selected by the owner, the local people apparently are those who visit the place in regular terms.
The menu is very limited, since it has an offer for kids and snacks to choose from are few, also serve soups and broths. From the menu you can choose: Lobster grilled mahi-mahi fillet stuffed with seafood, octopus salad or queen conch fritters with a companion of typical Puerto Rican. Request the appetizers: seafood turnover, “surullitos”, fish dumplings and “wings of the sea”. The wine list is limited. The food will arrive fresh to the table in about 30 minutes.
All these details are overlooked when savoring the delicious taste of fresh fish and seafood. Again, I get disappointed when I ask the owner for dessert and he answers that they do not have any desserts after such a great meal.
Prices are moderate between $ 10 and $ 30 plus government taxes (I.V.U.), no parking or valet parking and is a rich gastronomic adventure with a breathtaking view of the Bay of Guanica for those seeking to leave the city and find typical food from a seafood restaurant in a small town. It was good to know that “Brisas del Mar” accept debit cards, VISA and Mastercard. The restaurant's phone is 787-821-6372, the owner identified himself as just "Nando" and the restaurant is open from Friday to Sunday from 4:30 pm until midnight.
It’s is a three stars place with the cleanest restrooms in the whole Broadwalk.
