We went there for supper. The food presentation was very poor. The plates look like they are cooked the day before and warmed up when ordered. Very disappointing.

Were there with group of friends and was excellent! Food tp die for and the service exquisite! Must try, every meal was perfect!
Coming from Europe we were surprised to discover this place in Quebec. Don’t be afraid by the main dining room , as magic is not on the wall , but in your plate. First you have to know the owner is the chef , and...is also doing the service. Everything on the menu is homemade and you can feel the difference, every dish we had was excellent, and the manager/ chef is a very nice guy pationate and who like what’s doing - price are very affordable, Nice hidden treasure in this regionMore
I went to this place upon recommondation from a friend, I have to say that I was not disappointed! A very warm welcome from the Chef Yvon started off our experience. Beautiful French style simple decor that I would say seats 30 to 35 people...very...cozy. You can bring your own wine or beer. Now for the food...I had the 6 or 7 service which had a great potage, creamy blue escargot entree, salade, "trou normand" which is a sweet sorbet and then the best filet mignon with pan fryed foie gras I have ever had!! And to top it all off, a cream bruler...wow! I am looking forward to my next visit already!! I recommend this hidden little secret to anyone who likes cozy dinner with friends or romantic night out with the wife (partner), and who likes taking the time to savor a great French Chef's cuisine. Suggestion, for knowing what wine to bring, I suggest looking at the menu on their website that way you can make up you own wine pairing. Do try this place!More
Our group of 4 had reserved for a Saturday evening but the place was quiet and didn’t need reservations. This small restaurant is cozy and the one person greeting and serving was quite friendly and helpful but distracted. The food was way below expectations. The...restaurant markets itself as a French restaurant but the quality is not there. They have a “table d’hôte” option including entrée, soup and main meal plus coffee or tea and the options are numerous. The chef’s suggestion was a chicken ballottine. My friend and I both ordered this dish thinking it would be fresh and high quality. We also ordered an entrée of grilled mussels with Parmesan. I mentioned intolerance to onions and garlic and asked if the chef could do the mussels with butter only and Parmesan. I was told no problem, it was all made to order and he would put butter and parmesan only. The dish came with garlic anyway and I was given a story about their garlic is non irritant because of the way it is cooked. I found this very disrespectful especially after I had been told garlic was not to be used for my plate. The main dish of chicken was prepared with chicken thighs, fatty and even a small bone included in mine. A lot of flavours but very low quality. The dishes were cold and we had to request a reheat. Pork cheeks and pork scallops ordered by the others in our group were good but also not warm enough. In conclusion, a quite disappointing dining experience and definitely not worth your money. We won’t go back.More
The food is amazing, the service is very friendly and warm, the prices are very reasonable. No loud music, cozy, great ambiance. Bring your own wine, or buy it next door. If you like French cuisine, visit it and you will not regret
Booked a reservation for an anniversary dinner. Our expectations were met. Down to earth friendly service, BYOB, food was very good and a wide choice of appetizers and entrees to suit all tastes. I had the duck magret which was delicious and well presented and...my spouse had the beef flank steak which was prepared perfectly to her liking. Not a lot of patrons as there was an event in town but overall atmosphere was relaxing and background music was varied and enjoyable.More
An interesting small place for a nice meal. The place is best known for its offals. However, they have other dishes that are also nice such as the snails in blue cheese. You need to bring your own wine. The service is amicable, efficient and...very much in charge. We enjoyed the atmosphere. Probably a nice place to try when it is colder since there is no terrasse. The decor is eclectic and made up of souvenirs from around the world.More
We ate mushroom fricassee, purée of onion soup and ravioli. All were different than we'd ever had before and quite delicious.
Well what a find. I live only 15min away and have never been. So this last Saturday night my wife and I went to find one of Estrie greatest culinary delights. When we first arrived in the parking lot we where spectacle. BUT we had...our wine so we were ok. (Its a bring your own). When we walk in you get this combination of smells and ambiance. This very friendly lovely lady comes up to us and brings us to our table. (Yes we had reservation)..opens our wine and served us the that it should be. My head was looking and turning on every wall. Trying to soak in all the decor. The music playing in the back ground was recognizable songs but from artists that i didn't know and at thw perfect volume. Well our lovely waitress explains their menu. And im still very impressed by everything. Smells sounds decor music. And the menu choices Wow.. everything you need for a diner of pleasure s .. I setting my self up for deception... So here it goes. But first ; I consider myself somewhat of a connaisseur. So when we received our soups; All my doubts where answered before the bowl was on the table. The aromatic spicy hit my nose. India, no Africa , no no Mexico; relax.... .What combination of spices did this Chef do to the soup!. So I take a glass of water (which was flavored with fruits ), and I take just a little dip of this colorful bowl of soup hoping to discover his secrets. BANG I discover what cooking is and should always be. So as i come back down from this explosion of flavors I realized that this was the first of a 4 course meal. Delightful. I Could go on but you are probably already gone... I geuss you get what im saying nothing is more satisfying than paying for a meal that gives you more than what expected. A MEAL that brings an experience. A FABULOUS diner cooked to a chef/owner personal standards with service above all.... Well i be back in a couple of weeks with a fallow up. . Thankyou Yvon for an extraordinary meal and Denise for her service and smile. Alan...More
We were pleasantly surprised by this small restaurant conveniently located right in front of our airbnb location and only minutes away from the Ordford Park. They specialize in giblets so I had the veal liver and my girlfriend tried a "cervelle de veau". The lamb...tajine was the best my girlfriend ever had. I also have the mention the quality of the service by our waitress. The chef came to meet us and everyone else to discuss the food and even other topics. There were many regulars in the place. I recommend La Causerie to anyone who is looking for a great restaurant in Orford. Oh and it's bring your own wine!More
The restaurant is hard to find, is very small but the food is simply great. Had foie gras and it was fabulous. Will go back for sure
We were looking for a great restaurant to eat at for our New Years Eve celebration in Magog Canada and another couple recommended La Causerie in the nearby town of Orford which was about a 15 minute drive from our condo. The restaurant has great...atmosphere but is very small and reservations are highly recommended. The restaurant allows you to bring your own wine or beer and as far as I could tell from the menu they did not sell any so it may be best to do so. The food is classic French with some international influences and Canadian flair. Our group of four opted for the 6 course menu and ordered the following for appetizers: the mussels with parmesan, mushroom fricasse, and an appetizer sampler for two with dumplings, imperial rolls, mushroom fricasse and mussels. The Soup du Jour was a refreshing, vegetable soup with a cream base. They offered a citrus granite to cleanse the palatte and then brought the entrees. Our entrees were kidneys in a two mushroom sauce, veal liver, sweet breads with mushrooms in port sauce, and spiced duck confit. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse, creme brulee, and cheesecake. Everything we ordered was impeccably prepared, well plated, and most importantly, delicious. The desserts were very classic and a bit un-imaginative but still well prepared and very tasteful. This was a multi-course, Classic French meal so the wait for the food was a little long but was expected and well worth it. We highly recommend this restaurant and it is deserving of a five star rating.More
