As a pub it lacks something but its OK for the odd pint or two?
Its ok for eating provided you only expect to get average pub meals at a reasonable price.
Not favoured for large scale meals such as Christmas etc.

Clearly an old pub "breathed on" by a chain - Marstons in this case. And they have done a good job, lots of cubbyholes and different levels and a quiet relaxing ambiance. Nicely aged with some good touches, somewhere to feel comfortable in.
They left us alone! But for too long!
It was great that we could have our discussions in private, and also they didn't hassle for the bill so we could order coffee and tea as we needed without the "Tab" routine.
