They serve fake Argentinian beef! It is not beef, it is skirt steak which is a very cheap piece of meat from the rib area. They have been told several times that they cheat, but they don't care. A restaurant cheating their guests like this iks not to be trusted. Stay away !!

Not much to distinguish this place from the outside but we took a chance and were pleasantly surprised. Set menu for 12.95 is great value. Every member of our party enjoyed their main - we had cordon bleu, pork and chicken. Would deffo come here again.

8 of us went for a late lunch in early November, the purpose being a get-together of friends from when we lived in Albir. This restaurant has changed owners many times over 15 years we have been visiting/living in Albir. I am not sure how long the present people have been there but the hostess was lovely. 7 of us... This was a bit of an accidental find, it really doesn't look that grand on the outside however the food is outstanding. We first went on a Monday evening, circa 7.00pm - we managed to get a table in the front conservatory area. Service was excellent, the food a revolution - almost fine dining but at budget price. Everything was... More

We have been here a couple of times and it never disappoints - the food is good with a nice choice on the set menus and the staff are friendly and efficient. Last night we went for the more expensive set menu and had fantastic mussels, followed by pork in a sate sauce - something I had never thought of... More

Here, at Carpe Diem the warm atmosphere makes every person feel like being at home and our staff make sure that you are not alone.

Our name ‘Carpe Diem’ comes from the book 1 of the Roman poet Horace’s work, witten more than 2000 years ago. The word itself means to ‘Seize the Day’ and to enjoy every moment of it!

The whole verse is: “Carpe diem quam minimum credula posterior”, which can be translated as “Seize the present; trust tomorrow e’en as little as you may.” Therefore, it is important not to let a single day pass without enjoying. And if this is something good, then it happens with us.

It is possible to say that Horace predicted 20 centuries ahead because even in the 21st century Carpe Diem is still completely up to date and is used frequently.
