My top restaurant, always delivers on service and never had a bad meal. Head chef is great and interacted with my young daughter showing her different foods etc. Love it 😍

Don't really cater for vegetarians. The usual mushroom risotto was on offer and that was effectively rice with cream and some tough mushrooms added. The service was good and the environment beautiful but the food was expensive and overrated. Didn't like the fact that you...More

We were visiting family in Windsor and having previously eaten at the Bel in Windsor we thought we would give this a try. Set in the lovely village of Cookham the place oozed warmth and old world charm as soon as we went through the...More

I dont always rate a place based on price as sometimes the locations demands more, and food quality is less. But in this case I would say that prices are above average and so wanted more. The entrance to the pub is very cosy with...More

We arrived too early at Boulters Lock on a Saturday morning for breakfast and we were recommended by a passing dog walker to go to the Bel and Dragon Cookham. On arriving the staff were cheerful and very helpful. Beautiful Christmas decorations everywhere with a...More

We've ate here several times and have had some very good dinners here (the beef sharer is lovely!) but we have also had some very average meals with very average service. I think it depends on what you pick but when the food hasn't been...More

The food is decent but not good enough for the prices they charge. The food can also be a hit and miss as sometimes it is really good and sometimes it is just meh. The big beef sharing plater is also a risk as more...More

Description
One of the oldest Coaching Inns in England, Bel & The Dragon Cookham sits on the village's picture postcard High Street, a short walk from the Thames Path and under a 30 minute drive from Central London.Following wholesale refurbishment, Bel & The Dragon combines 600 years of history with the best in modern British cuisine. The menu is created by award-winning Head Chef, Ronnie Kimbugwe, who previously spent 7 years with Gordon Ramsay and was most recently the Senior Sous Chef of Gordon Ramsay at Claridges. His passion for the finest seasonal fare, sourced from local & sustainable ingredients, is immediately obvious. It is also complemented by the inclusion of a rotisserie for the very best Roast Chicken, Creedy Carver Duck or the signature spit roasted Suckling Pig.And then there is the Josper Grill, which cooks at up to 600°C and is compared to an indoor barbeque- since it has transformed restaurant kitchens forever, with early converts already including Gordon Ramsay at the Savoy Grill and Heston Blumenthal at Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental.Wine lovers are warmly welcome to enjoy one of the best cellars in Berkshire, stocked with only the best vintages at extraordinary prices. The special Cellar list has been created to provide amazing value for money between £55- £95 per bottle, for some of the best wines ever produced.
