Nice Restaurant, Good Food

We met a family member here for dinner. The staff greeted us immediately and seated us. Our orders were taken promptly. Dinner arrived in good time and we found the portions to be a nice size and quite tasty. Dessert was tasty as well. We were allowed to linger as long as we wanted which made for a very enjoyable evening. Prices are quite reasonable. We'd definitely come back here if we are in the area.

Last minute decision to order takeaway for dinner from Tuscany Bistro, Castletroy. What a great experience spoke to Juliet on the phone who took my order very friendly & professional.The food was just delicious & pipping hot, & very reasonable my first experience here would certainly return & highly recommended to family & friends.

Excellent service with excellent food

Myself my husband and two friends ate here recently and I must say the food was glorious and fresh and very much Italian but what made it was the service. the two waitresses we had one been the manager could not of helped us enough with reccomendations to even offering to open up to provide us with some snacks for our boat trip back home the next day. They were so pleasent to deal with. I had an order wrong where I mistakenly got olives when I asked for none once I said this to the waitress immediately they let my friends tuck into the one with the olives and got me another straight away. No questions asked. Will most certainly eat here again there own Italian bread is to die for and I would recommend everything that have to offer

Only customers in restaurant and we had to call the waitress and ask her if she could take our order. Food was only ok .

Lunch menu was displayed online when I booked but we were only offered the aka care menu or set menu. We were only customers in the restaurant yet we had to get up and call the staff to take our order. Food was only ok basic for the price. Would not return. Also the tables are so close together no room and no atmosphere.

Cold food

A group of 10 went here for a celebratory meal. We ordered starters, mains and numerous bottles of wine. Two of us ordered lasagne and they were both cold in the centre so we had to send them back to the kitchen. By the time they were given back to us the others in our group had already completed their meals. This put us under pressure to finish ours as we had other plans made for after the meal. The bill was over €400 and not even 1% was deducted from it as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused to us. I’ll be thinking twice about returning here in the future.

Everyones plates were cleared which is always a great sign and therefore we felt that the issue was resolved and the food was eaten. We are sorry that you felt you should have received a freebie but when we see clear plates we presume the meal was enjoyed and therefore should be paid for. We appreciate you taking the time to write this review, however if you were not happy we would have appreciated if you let a member of our team know before leaving as when you left they thought everyone was happy, so we were a little sad to see your review. Slow Service

I'm usually so excited to go to this restaurant as I've always had a good experience here, however, this visit wasn't as pleasant as other visits. My husband and I were quickly shown to our table by a lovely staff member. Menu's were brought and we were asked if we wanted a drink to start. We ordered a glass of wine and water and they came quite quickly. However, by the time they came back to us to ask our dinner choices, we had finished our drinks. It was a long wait. We made sure to order another drink with dinner in case were were waiting for a long time again and they came again quite quickly, however, after that, we were not visited again at our table until we left. And we had wanted to have coffee after our dinner but no one came near us for such a long time that we decided to just pay and leave. I tried on a few occasions to get attention but there were 2 large tables which were taking up most of the waiting staff time and attention. The food was nice, I thought mine was rather bland, which I was disappointed with as it promised garlic and cream sauce. My husbands dish was very tasty. Just a bit disappointed overall with the service and bland dish :-(

Not the restaurant it once was!

Visited here on a Saturday night for dinner, thankfully we had a booking as it was almost full. I used to visit quite frequently but it's been about a year since I last ate here and I was quite disappointed. Took about 20-30 minutes for a waiter to approach us even to bring us water. I would like to point out I do not in any way blame the staff for this. To me it seems the management are visibly short staffed. Food was great but not up to the standard it was before. Found the service in general quite slow, waiter cleared our plates and I asked to see a desert menu, returned 10 minutes later after standing talking to another staff member with the menu. It then took another 15 minutes to be approached for an order. Overall not a terrible experience but i do hope to see an improvement in the future as at the moment I wouldn’t be too pushed on returning.

Long overdue catch up outdoors

Food fabulous, catch up arranged with our pregnant friend who has only one vaccination so indoor dining was not an option. We were having a lovely meal and ordered an extra drink. At no stage at this point did we feel any rush to leave. Suddenly a waitress/ manager approached and told us the table was required “shortly”, the bill was then delivered. Shortly afterwards the card machine was produced and we felt compelled to pay immediately. We duly paid (slightly stunned!) and were ushered to leave even though we had wine in our glasses. Felt embarrassed and pressured in to leaving as we were informed people were inside waiting for our table. This made absolutely no sense as indoor tables were plentiful and vacant. Whilst chatting in the car park we observed no such pressure for our table. It had been been cleared, sanitised but not reused. Other tables were seated and used during this time, so could not be COVID cleaning related. Upon booking we should have been informed of a table limit. We would have had no problem with this in these very difficult times. So disappointing as we supported Tuscany in lock down, no idea why we were targeted to move so abruptly. Evening overshadowed by such unnecessary rudeness. Left with a very sour taste and disappointing experience overall. Totally unnecessary.

I frequently eat at Tuscany in Castletroy. From the moment you enter the restaurant it is of a high standard. They balance professionalism with friendliness so well. The food is exquisite so fresh and authentic! There is always a fantastic atmosphere, without a shadow of a doubt, this is created by the staff! I went to Spitjacks in limerick city today and I couldn’t but compare it with Tuscany. The food was very average, in my opinion it’s not fresh and very thrown together. The staff are busy, so I would say friendliness is about 2/10. The feeling I got was that they wanted you in and out as quickly as possible!!! Thankfully we have places like Tuscany that give value for money and so much more. Simone 💕

Lovely ambience

We visited over Christmas and was not disappointed. The decor and ambience is really lovely. The staff were really lovely too. Wine menu is great, cocktails were very good. The only fault i have is, the spaghetti was cooked until very soft, if you like it al dente like me, then let the staff know when ordering.

Home Catering for Family Event

Last week we experienced a sudden bereavement in our family, and at extremely short notice, we asked Tuscany Catering if they could assist us in providing food for the extended family and friends. We had two meals –: an evening meal on the first evening and an afternoon meal on the day of the funeral. Linda took charge of both events and we could not have been happier with the results. We had two beautiful meals with no fuss and the food was top class. All the family were delighted to have had the opportunity to celebrate the life of the deceased in such a fitting manner. On behalf of the family I just want to say a big thank you to Linda and to Tuscany Catering for the way both functions were organised, and the professionalism of their execution. We really enjoyed the excellent service and food and it was a fitting tribute to our recently deceased mother and grandmother. Thanks again for your care and support

The real deal

As an Italian that lived across the world for 30 years I only eat in an Italian restaurant if I know the chef. l did not know the chef here so I waa really worried, but this bistro is the real deal. The only pizza in Ireland prepared and cooked as it should be, amazing starters with the right ingredients and flavors, a variety of main courses that is impressive. Been there 3 times already and will return every time I am in town. Highly recommended!!

Because of Covid, the restaurant in Castletroy is only open for takeaway at the moment.We got takeaway & it was only delicious - got the spaghetti bolognese ,pasts di Giovanni ,and spaghetti carbonara with added chicken : skinny fries : tiramasu & cannoli. All the food was excellent ,great quality,and portions large enough that we had 2 sittings out of everything including the desserts.It was all handled very professionally & with strict Covid guidelines followed. AND worth mentioning , they accepted our gift card -some restaurants/take-aways are not accepting at the moment. Congrats to all involved.

Family dinner

Disappointed with the service. It has been a while since we last ate at this restaurant. It was busy when we arrived. It took a while for our order to be taken, water to be dropped at the table, menus etc. Food was very nice and pricing is good.

A wonderful dining experience.

We arrived at the restaurant without a reservation on a Friday night. One of the waiters sat us down straight away and gave us enough time to decide what we wanted to order. The food was terrific and the service matched it. Highlight of the dinner was the tiramisu. It was delicious and one portion was big enough for two people. The staff should be very proud of the service they provide, it’s of the highest quality. Would definitely come back again.
