This restaurant is ideal for that special night out. Good food with a mainly fresh seafood menu. The service was very good and the waiters were food and wine knowledgeable. The setting is "cosy" and there are lovely views over the harbour. With wine, coffee etc. expect to pay approx. £60 per head, but worth it.

This highly rated restaurant disappoints. The fish is fresh, but the presentation could be more accomplished. It is situated on the first floor of an historic building which overlooks the lovely Stonehaven harbour, but it lacks ambience, feeling cold physically and reminds one of a school canteen. The prices are undeservedly high for the food itself, and average wines carry... More

Had a delightful lunch in this lovely restaurant. Large choice of seafood as you would expect and a very knowledgeable waiter gave us answers to all our questions. Starters were delivered shortly after our orders were made. The restaurant was relatively quiet as it was just on 12.00 Sunday lunch time we arrived. It did get busier after that. The... More

I had a lovely buthday lunch in this really charming restaurant facing stonehaven harbour. Built in 1600 and originally a storehouse for nearby dunotter castle, then court and prison. Now an excellent seafood restaurant, although they do some great meat dishes too. Their fixed-price menu is good value. The seafood is locally sourced, original recipes, beatufully presented. Definitely worth a... More

We visited on a Sunday evening for the first time, and whilst it was relatively quiet, the service and food were still of the same high standard that we have come to expect from this great seafood restaurant. The menu offers a good selection of dishes without being overwhelming. The food is always interesting and full of flavour. Highly recommended.

I'm allergic to capsicum (peppers, chillies). Made enquiries about ingredients. Ordered prawn pasta starter. Delicious but defo had cayenne pepper / paprika in. Spoke with waitress. Was now told 'yes, but it's not like, hot'. It's only a mild allergy so I easily survived!! Otherwise, lovely food. Would visit again.

I visited this restaurant on a Thursday and it was very quiet, ourselves and four others. The table d'hote lunch was great value,(£20) a choice of three starters, three mains and two sweets . I had the Pork and Black Pudding spring rolls -- excellent, my friend chose the Cullen Skink which was creamy and flavoursome. We both had the... More

Superb food. Great, friendly staff. Could not fault. Such quality ingredients prepared to perfection. Can't wait to go again when back in the area.
