In a time where we’re not sure if we’ll ever sit down to dinner in a restaurant again, we can be relieved that restaurants like Just For the Halibut adapt and try their absolute best to make our take out experience fast and familiar. An...evolving menu, specials, incredible beer options and friendly small town service means Just For the Halibut is geared to be everyone’s favourite… Pick a craving and indulge ! My favourite besides the fish and chips (staple) is their made in house Burgers.More

Tried a fancier meal this time out and we were both disappointed. My wife's grilled salmon had "burnt" sear marks resembling the taste of the last steak or burger that had been cooked, and my pickerel could have done without the soggy corn meal breading....Both took away from the expensive entree experience we were expecting. If we do ever come back we'll stick to the halibut and fries even though we are not big on fried food items. Service remained exceptional in spite of our distaste!!More

Firstly, my wife and I are East coasters and grew up on fresh fish. I have struggled on Ontario to find great seafood that mimics that “just out of the water” taste. Well this did it! The halibut and Cajun cod we ordered were delicious,...hot, flaky and beautifully dressed. The halibut was pan fried in garlic butter and was delicious. Cod was awesome as well. A family restaurant with a history of its owners adorning the walls shows pride in the craft exhibited here. The service staff were incredible and kudos to Tori who is a gem of a human! The servers were proud to speak of the family, the history and how many of the family now work in the establishment. They were closing the restaurant the next day for a staff wedding - need I say more! Highly recommend.More

Hard to please an Englishman on his birthday with fish and chips but this was a good find and I am glad we went , nothing fancy just plain good servings of well made food, nice patio, great service . Thanks

A quick, unexpected stop for lunch turned in to one of the loveliest meals we've had in Bobcaygeon. Halibut and chips is excellent, and the craft beer they had on tap (!) was surprisingly diverse and fresh, with selection from both local breweries and ontario-wide....our server was knowledgeable, fun, and friendly. would very happily visit again.More

My wife and I and another couple were in Bobcaygeon this weekend and wanted to find a decent place for dinner. We looked online and decided to try Just for the Halibut. Soooo glad we did. We all ordered something different and all four dishes...were topnotch. I started off with an appetizer of shrimp and crab cakes which I loved, followed by an entree of a butterflied chicken breast and huge shrimps covered in a very tasty sauce with rice and veggies. The place was quite busy and I can certainly understand why. Our server Mary was a pure delight and added to us having a fabulous dinner. We will certainly be back next time through Bobcaygeon.More

We checked before going what time the restaurant was open. We invited friends to join us as our guests. From the moment we got through the door the server was so fast. She came to the table repeatedly before we could check the menu or...greet our guests. This was our first time there so needed time to orient ourselves. Once we ordered our drinks and food we were rushed through the meal faster than any place ever! We were in and out in less than an hour. And followed out the door by staff who locked up. This was half hour before it was to close. That is why I chose the title of the review.More
