Did not realize that so many restaurants are closed on Sundays. Booked this one on a whim, based on reviews. The menu was reduced, but still had a good variety meals. Bride had the Mango Chili Rainbow trout and I had the Thai red curry chicken plus bowl of red lentil soup. All were very good. The wait staff was prompt and polite, food was served hot and the time between ordering the meals and receiving them was reasonable. Price was reasonable, would visit again and recommend to others.

Driving through Port Perry (from Midland to Cobourg), we stopped at Marwan’s for lunch on a Tuesday. The place was packed. Our grilled cheese and hummus plates were served quickly, piping hot (grilled cheese), and delicious for a fair price.

We are Marwan's regulars and have been so please with their take out service though COVID 19.
The food is fresh and flavourful with great portion sizes. Great selection on the menu with a number of gluten free and vegetarian options.
The in restaurant experience is great. Excellent service with wonderful ambiance. Make sure you make a reservation for an even better dining experience when the restaurant opens again for dining in.

We recently tried Marwans on a day trip to Port Perry, and while it occupies a prime spot on the small, quaint downtown strip of the town, the eatery is hard to recommend.
The dining room is small and was like the town itself, quaint in design, although we sat on small patio directly in front. We learned that the full restaurant menu is not available outside, a fact not made clear on their website, and instead they offer a "bar menu" from their sister location next door. Very disappointing. The service was professional but cool, and the eclectic menu tasted freshly prepared but was unimpressive in flavour.
Although everything was adequate, the food is very simply overpriced, both for location, the quality and quantity of food offered.

Visited for family dinner for four. The server was friendly enough but we all thought she was abrupt and a bit of an attitude, no matter. We had apps of the bread abs house dips and charcuterie. It was good, I would’ve liked to have seen more fruit (like a dried apricot) and spread on the board. Also the pickles olives and hot peppers all in one bowl was odd. They didn’t have some drinks or ingredients (ex couldn’t get the Bellini). Didn’t get water with our apps when asked so we had to remind. Server was def busy and we were one of the last tables of the night, both sides of the restaurant were full. The menu is pretty large and you shouldn’t have a problem finding something to eat. THE MENU ONLINE IS NOT CORRECT. We advised waitress and apparently its been noted many times however the owner has not updated it. It’s scaled down but still plenty to order from. Ordered lamb, vodka penne abs two orders of Masala chicken. Everyone enjoyed their meals and they were large portions. It came out hot and tasty. I recommend this spot for sure, nice ambience. They don’t have fryers so keep that in mind if you have fussy eaters there’s no fries etc. We didn’t try dessert but it looked tasty. I thought prices were fair overall. 200$ for dinner for four with four alcoholic drinks and two appetizers, not terrible at all!

I live an hour away from this Bistro so I had a two hour investment in this meal.
There were four of us and everyone raved about the food. I had a steak with shrimp special and it was great! The steak has a nice char on it and was cooked just right and more important was still hot when it came to the table.
There were a few large parties going on and yet it did not affect the service as the server was very attentive and we did not have to wait long for items.
The only negative point was we were seated in the window area and every time the door opened it was freezing.
The prices were very good and still reasonable for the quality of food and service.
You should make reservations because the bistro is small and they have no problems filling the dinning room. I think some people were sent away.
By the way there is a bar next door which is connected to the bistro were people could wait for there tables.
I have done 402 reviews but none over the last three years. This is my first one and I hope to get active again.
Marwan's a good investment!

We had a fantastic lunch at this spot. The menu had a number of interesting choices but we chose the lamb burger which came with soup or salad. It was well prepared and delicious. The service was friendly and very efficient. We will definitely return if we are in this area. All pandemic cautions were taken very seriously.

Marwans went above and beyond with their takeout food and process. They have been sensitive to a new normal and super organized. You call for take out and they give you a time. When we go in the bags were ready and labeled and on a table. The staff waving and a warm welcome but well distanced does them and us. I really appreciated that and it gives me confidence that they will be mindful and precise about any “new normal” going forward.
Of course and most importantly the food is always fantastic. I’m a butter chicken fan personally but last time I had the pasta and my hubby dug in to my dish as well as his own. The naan and dips are delish and the schwarmas too. The little paired cocktail kits were also a very creative and fun idea.
We are lucky to have this little local gem in our town. Let’s continue to help them by showing up, ordering online and supporting their little family business.

Visited here for lunch in Aug. 2022. It was a weekday and wasn't too crowded. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and the food is good. I had a burger and it was delicious. It would have been good if I could have substituted the soup for fries, but it didn't come with that and they didn't allow substitution. It's a nice place though. I'll certainly go back.

4 of us dined here on Saturday night. We booked our reservation for 6:30 and were seated immediately upon arrival.
Numerous drink choices were offered and we all were quite happy when we received ours.
We shared two appetizers, the beef carpaccio and bruschetta. My only disappointment was I had to share with the other three! Delicious
I ordered rack of lamb for my main while the others ordered steak , rainbow trout and the red curry with shrimp. All arrived hot and plentiful. My lamb had a wonderful mint sauce and came with smashed potatoes and tender crisp green beans. No room for dessert that was offered. Being new to Port Perry and we love it here , we are very happy with the dining establishments we’ve visited but Marwans ranks the best so far
Thank you you are doing everything right!
My only suggestion would be to have more seafood specifically oysters on the menu

We shop all the time in Port Perry eating at lack luster ladies type restaurants. Then bang Marwans opened and the word was out, I looked at my friend and said that's it we are going there, never NEVER do we go elsewhere! Best flavours, best food combining, best wait staff and a kitchen that never fails us. Just go to eat there, whether its vegetarian or fish meat and chicken you will be happy you went.

For my birthday dinner we ordered take out. Unfortunately that was a mistake. We ordered the butternut squash soup, that was hot and delicious, but the creamy chicken alfredo was oily, lacking any cream sauce, noodles were rubbery and the chicken was dry.

I love this restaurant! It s one of my absolute preferred places to eat up in that area. That pasta dish was made to perfection. The sauce was delicious, the shrimp cleaned beautifully, and the pasta al dente. The portion was a good size too, nicely filling on a winter's afternoon. I had the minestrone soup before this and it was delicious. I've never been disappointed with the food there as it's always been a satisfying experience!

The chef has a wonderful menu with a subtle middle eastern touch. The calamari is divine with a butter and garlic sauce, my lamb hamburger with brie cheese was juicy and tasty and my Moroccan soup was simple and full of subtle favor. The penne daily special was also very good and my husband loved the Caesar salad. The red Diamond Coppola wine by the glass pared well with everything I ate and was smooth.
Well worth the trip to Port Perry, twice in one week!

We made last minute dinner reservations tonight. We’ve been here before, but dined outside. This was our first time dining indoors. The atmosphere was welcoming and the beer selection was great. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was delicious. We both ordered the butter chicken and were blown away! The sauce was delicious and there was so much chicken. Since moving to Port Perry I have missed having a local Indian food restaurant. Marwin’s did not disappoint! The service was just as great as the food. We will be back soon.
