On various tours, we ate a several restaurants truistico, and this is definitely one of the better ones. It is buffet style, and I wonder if one of the negative reviews about table service and ordering reflect this. On a busy bus tour, you definitely...want to eat off the excellent and diverse buffet rather than ordering a la cart. The chicken soup was excellent, and there was a variety of grains, veggies, potatoes, fish and meat dishes. The restaurant and the restrooms were also very clean and modern.More

Yes, this is a buffet restaurant stop by tour companies but it is delicious. Big choice is f local food to try including ceviche, veggies, local soups including quinoa, various stir fries and lomos, variety of potatoes (each with its unique taste), my favourites were...the two types of alapacca - both Lomo and rubs - absolutely delicious. Various cakes for deserts. All very fresh. Busy restaurant. 30 solesMore

We were told we could have a lunch here before our bus to Puno arrived. When we sat down nothing happened. We had to stand up and ask for the menu. Same for ordering. As this already all took some time we only had 40...minutes left before the bus left. After we ordered we asked to speed it up. The waiter stated it would take 20 min. to prepare the food and funny enough it was exactly 20 min when the food was served. The chicked tasted the good, but I didn’t trusted the salad, as I saw the waiter collecting salad form the buffet with his bare hands before. Also my plate had a long black hair on it. We could eat it all just in time for the bus. The next night my son and I did empty our stomachs from our mouth, had diarrhea and felt really bad. I am not stating that I am sure it was because of the hygiene from this restaurant as it could also been an virus or something else we both caught.More

Popped in here at the end of may. This visit was spoilt by the bus drivers strike in the town. Blocking all the roads into the area and putting stones on the ground. Not a good promotion for the area. Stay away is my suggest....Why put money into the area when they do this.More

A pleasant restaurant with a buffet set lunch. Quite a good selection of soups and dishes, both savoury and sweet. Meatballs were best.

We ate here on our return from the Cruz del Condor. There was a wide range of freshly cooked items at the buffet which were all of good quality and in the case of the local specialities were enthusiastically explained to us by the helpful...staff. Highly recommended.More

This is, as has been noted, a tourist buffet catering to busses and groups on the route to the Colca Canyon. Ordinarily, "buffet", and "tourists" would be enough to stop reading, even before getting to "busses" - but the surprise is this was a worthwhile...and interesting stop for lunch on the road. Our driver from Colca to Arequipa suggested we stop here, and I am glad we did. the restaurant is clean, has great banos, and offers a lengthy buffet of regional Peruvian dishes. The soups were great, and a variety was offered. All the food was fresh and hot, with a range of tastes available, ending with fruit. This may not be a destination restaurant, but the meal we had here - and the service - were better than we received that night at a high end and highly prices restaurant in Arequipa. The woman in charge was also a delight, and very helpful.More

The food was "OK" I guess. It's a place that caters to tourist groups, and serves several large groups simultaneously. The only reason you'll probably go there in the first place is because the tour package you bought to take you around Colca valley brought...you there for lunch. The cost is cheap for a buffet (30 soles for the food + extra for drinks) and the quality is "OK". Reminds me of cafeteria food. Given the general quality of nearby establishments you probably won't find anything better, though. The hotels in the area usually have great restaurants, but restaurants in Chivay city are usually not that good.More

Good buffet style lunch for a reasonable price. The restaurant is just out of Chivay on the road to Condors Cross.
