We always go to the Alex Bar and Grill when we are staying on the Sunshine Coast. The place has a cool, friendly atmosphere with views of the beach from the balcony and great food at reasonable prices. We head there for the ribs, of course, plus the salmon or the delicious vegie burger.

This restaurant did not disappoint.
The service was friendly and relaxed, the food was tasty and delicious.
My partner ordered the ribs and wings meal, very generous serve, and cooked perfectly. I ordered the Salmon, again, cooked perfectly.
My son ordered a burger, very meaty and tasty
We ate approx 5pm, with our young family, and by 6.30pm, it was starting to get busy.
Will rush back here next time we visit

The manager organised a last minute table for 17 during school holidays which was awesome. The food was delicious, our group loved the ribs and the wings. The chicken with creamy garlic sauce was also a hit. Plenty of beers on tap and a decent wine list. Great atmosphere. Would definitely come again.

Great vibe great views and great food. Always call in here when visiting the Sunshine Coast and it never disappoints.
Great daily deals on offer but he sure to book. If you’re into cocktails just ask and they’ll happily make one up for you.

The burgers are delicious, had the pulled pork with slaw and it didn’t disappoint.
My partner had the cheese burger with onion rings and said it was the best.
It does get quite rowdy on a Saturday night with intoxicated 20 year old but we just ate and ran. Still was a great night 👍🏼

A local recommended the food at this place so we went for dinner. There is something going on here because there was no greeting, lots of discussions behind the bar and the servers could care less that people were in the restaurant.
We had a toddler with us who managed to smash a glass while putting it back on the table. The poor girl who got sent to clean it up was very nice about it and moved us to another table while she got it sorted. I asked if they had a take-away cup or a plastic cup to avoid another breakage. The lady who appeared to be in charge was curt in all responses. The food was good, but the service meant we couldn't wait to get out of there. There are so many choices around. We won't go back.

Ribs were ok but not as spectacular as other reviews claimed..they were not smoked & lacked flavour. The wings were good n had nice sauce. Good chips but the slaw was very ordinary. Fast takeaway service

Close to where we are staying so it was an easy choice.
My wife and I had seniors, chicken for wife and salt and pepper calamari for me. Both meals were huge, what I would normally get on the Central Coast as a full meal. The salad was wonderful and good hot chips. Definitely coming back to try their ribs.

Comfort food.
Tastes good.
Friendly staff.
Nice views from veranda.
We visited as a family if we stayed longer lost pulley would have returned.
Husband and kids quiet enjoyed the steaks, wings and chicken strips.

This was our second night in town and since we don’t have a car, the Alex Bar and Grill was right down the street from our resort. My husband and I shared the half rack of ribs and six wings combo because I had read the reviews raving about them. The price was reasonable and the wings were good. Maybe because we are from the states, but the ribs were horrible. I’m not sure what kind of ribs they are, but they are not baby back. There was barely any meat on them. Also, the sauce on them was like tomato paste. Yuck! If we go back before we leave, we’ll try something different.

Thank you so much for your fantastic hospitality last Friday night. Our group of 15 were made welcome, looked after, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and drinks flowed. great atmosphere.

Amazing BBQ chicken and Avocado salad and fabulous service! The staff really took care of me; particular shout-out to Maddie, who on a busy Friday night, found a table for one and made my visit special. Very generous meal serving; excellent value for money. Thank you

My wife and I were up on The Sunny Coast for the weekend. First thing in the morning we did the tourist thing, went for a walk along the beach. A local I know advised me to stop at The Surf Club, grab a break wrap with ago and enjoy. So glad we tool his advice. The staff were friendly and the break wrap was of perfect size and flavourđź‘Ś. The background view was pretty good too.

Excellent wings and good ribs. Ribs were well cooked with nice bbq sauce. I prefer them falling off the bone but these were close. Honey soy wings were awesome. Would definately return.

We had both the ribs and wings and both were surprisingly good.
This is an upstairs bar and while not particularly flash, is quite acceptable. Great for an afternoon drink on the desk and watching the skate park across the road.
We use this more as a bar than a restaurant, but if is probably more suited to the later. Friendly staff, but don’t expect great service. Get their early if you want your pick of seats
