The staff was really nice, but the food left a lot to be desired. Ordered over medium eggs and got sunny side up type of snotty eggs (the eggs were not flipped to cook on both sides - I’ve never seen this anywhere else when...asking for over medium eggs). The potatoes looked really good in the pictures on the menu, but they were obviously canned potatoes. The service was really good, staff was friendly and fast. The person I was with ordered a sandwich and said it tasted like they didn’t use real mayonnaise, but whipped dressing. Really disappointing as we travelled from another town to visit this specific restaurant.More

We stopped in here for a late breakfast while cycling along the Waterfront Trail. We were hungry and a bit cold, so stayed and enjoyed some conversation with the owner, some good warm coffee and a great big omelette and homefries. It was a very...cozy and welcoming stop along our route. We had been here some years ago, also cycling along the Waterfront Trail, and were glad to be able to return. The space had expanded and some nice outdoor seating was put in, so it was even better than last time!More

So much food for the price! The portions are amazing and so delicious, you'll want to clean your plate! The big breakfast is my husband's favourite. I love their breakfast sausage. Great for lunch as well! Highly recommend!

I had been there once previously last February and thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast. So decided to go back with some visiting relatives today. We sat down in the Restaurant and I were brought mugs for coffee. My sister asked for hot water in her small...thermos. The owner took the thermos and filled it up although he looked kind of ticked off. A young man came over and poured coffee for us and was going to take her mug since she wasn’t having coffee but she asked him to leave it for her Ti. She had brought her own tea bag because she can only drink decaffeinated tea and most places don’t have that. The owner came over and abruptly grabbed her mug and said you can use your own since you brought your own tea bag. She was surprised and said - I can’t drink out of this. Her thermos is not one u can drink out of. He then yelled at us from across the restaurant - I am trying to run a restaurant here!!! We then sat in stunned silence and I finally said quietly that I would like to leave as I was very uncomfortable. We got up to go and I stood at the counter to pay for our coffee but the owner looked at me and said angrily. - goodbye have a good day. So my brother in law left a $5 on the counter and we left. I have no idea what was going on in that owners life that he felt the need to let loose on us today but I will certainly never enter that restaurant again. If he didn’t like giving my sister free hot water he could simply have said you will have to pay for that and she happily would have. Worst experience at a restaurant ever.More

If you want to know what the weekly menu is look at the stains on the owners shirt! This place is crap and nice wet firewood! Don't think about getting a fresh pie because the pie is uncovered on the counter.

Thought I would take myself and my 3 year old out for a late breakfast after doing some errands. Now anyone who knows a 3 year old who is starving out of their mind and might just die because of it will get this. We...walk in from outside with soiled muddy shoes as the parking area is a wet mud pit. Great. Now I have a dirty, and hungry kid. The front door of the store is wide open to the air allowing anything to fly in... alright let's step in. The store is completely cramped with typical corner store stuff. Okay fine. A guy approaches me and asks if I need help as I am walking to the restaurant side of the store. No, I am here to eat, clearly. Thanks. So my kid and I sit down where the guy who also turns out to be our waiter and gas tender provides us with a grimy menu for myself and a kids menu for my kid with crayons. Thanks for keeping him busy as he dies of starvation. I pray that he can get us food as fast as possible to keep him from having a further meltdown. Guy walks away to let us decide. Normal. My son proceeds, I mean inhales 3 packs of jam as I gander at the menu to satisfy his aching tummy. Poor kid. Go ahead. It's already down. Nothing I can do about it except reason with my 3 year old about "hey that's not a good idea honey"... So guy comes over to our table and stands over the two of us like a drill sergeant about to lose his top because someone just stepped out of sequence, like full on eye stare with me, could have sworn I seen an eye twitch, about to blow... "Are you serious right now?" he says with wide eyes staring right at me. "You can't just let him do that! That's not how things go around here!" I just stared at him in disbelief... surely he is being sarcastic over the fact that my 3 year old ate 3 of your jam packs... Nope! This guy is serious. What the blank was that?! I didn't even know how to respond. "I'm sorry I said, I guess yes, he did eat 3 of them". Now guy says "what are you having to eat?" Well I should have gotten up to leave but my son was dying of hunger still because I wouldn't let him eat the place out of house and home of jelly packs! "Well I will have the western omellette and he will have scrambled eggs, toast and bacon." "Well he's gonna eat from the kids menu right?" Seriously, no. He's going to eat the biggest breakfast you have here... "Umm, ya the kid's menu, one egg." Guy walks away to put our order in. Okay fine. Still contemplating leaving or enduring the tantrum of a starving beyond repair 3 year old... It just so happens the place has really small and dirty bathrooms with no ventilation... I should know as my table was right next to it after someone dropped a huge brown bomb that completely invaded my table space as I thought about having a similar tantrum as my kid. This. Is. Just. Great. Just then, as I already told you the door is left wide open, simultaneously a dirty fly lands on my tea cup rim and a friggen bird is flying around the restaurant. Hope it didn't poop on anything. Although it would have blended in with the rest of the grime and dust all over everything. Gross. Where is Public Health when you need them. So my kid, becoming ever so anxious over waiting decides to touch stuff that is hanging all over the walls. Like this place actually has stuff to buy all over the walls freely accessible for sneaky, lighting speed, on hunger crises/bored mode toddlers to grab and destroy. Of course he goes for the Avon cologne with a dusty candy cane no doubt from 3 Christmas' ago taped to it off the wall. In true toddler mode, that candy cane was busted, broken and off the wall in lighting speed. Parents can agree. The ninja toddler ages are fast and furious. Especially when their hungry. I thought for sure we were going to get blasted again... Nope saved by the graces of my quick speed. I slapped that dirty, busted candy cane right back on that dirty box and back on the wall where no one will continue to not buy it. Foods here. Finally. Thanks. Just what I imagined. Cheap. Burnt potatoes. Worst I've actually ever had at a restaurant. And a slightly burnt omelette. Don't see that everyday either. Not much flavour either. I ate most of it as my hunger did match that of my ninja. And go figure, my kid is miraculously full after a piece of bacon. Sit. Down. And. Eat. Those. Eggs! My ninja ate his eggs. Finally, let's get the hell out of here. Let's walk past the poor waitress that has been serving tables with her baby on her hip serving hot coffee and such the whole time. Not really any of my business, but I'm not sure children in the workplace in this manner may not be recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Labour. Just saying. Any how. Guy's debit machine is expectantly slow. Excruciating. He uses this precious time to make small talk. Shut up jerk. "Isn't your kids hair something?" Again, shut up. What the hell do you know about anything cute or toddlerish. You're a maniac. And that will be $20 bucks. Really? For what? I didn't think I could bite my tongue so hard for having to deal with these shenanigans. No tip for you. And I will never be back again, and hopefully anyone reading this post won't either. Have a nice day!More

Supper friendly, cute place in the back of a Country Store and Gas Station. I had a Western Sandwich and my friend opted for scrambled eggs and toast. The owner put on a fresh pot of coffee for us, and we had a couple of...refills. A lot of the customers seemed to know each other, which helped to create the nice friendly atmosphere. The next time, I would like to go for lunch.More

Small diner in the back of a gas station/convenience store. Doesn't sound like much but its actually one of the best breakfast diners in the county. Great service in a small atmosphere, with greasy-spoon breakfast food (and i mean that in a good way).

When outside in the county between harrow and amherstburg, not really sure where to go for breakfast. But as part of the tour county road 50 weekend, started with breakfast here at the intersection of Hwy 18. I have driven by this business and have...always thought it was a convenience store and did not realize there is a restaurant inside. You do enter through the variety store with the kitchen in the back. The decor is rustic country. The menu selection has something for everyone and everything is made fresh with mom in the kitchen and dad watching the variety store. When we visited on Sunday morning, it was busy and service can be slow. The food is good, location is easy to find and is a good spot being close to harrow and holiday beach. I do wish they do them out and will visit again for breakfast if I find myself visiting in the area.More
