We were super hungry when we got into this restaurant! The wife had ayam penyet and I had the nasi campur (mixed rice). We loved it but wished the food was served warmer. If you are on a budget and really hungry, this is the right place. Also the cakes like kuih lapis is really good😁 6/10

We have been regulars at this place for many years, enjoying traditional Indonesian cuisine. Over the past year or so, we have found that they are are serving less and less quantity for the same price. Possibly due to great popularity with students population around Swinburne Uni. Not good enough. we think. It is a basic no frills restaurant.

The first time I ate here was good. They have the dishes which I love to eat. Paru, sambal goreng, dried fish n urap. The subsequent visits don't have the dishes at all. When I asked about the menu, the staff mentioned that there's no fixed menu. Not worth the visit for the travelling I've done (40kms) Also, 1 balado... More

Feels just like eating at home, back home. No fuss, no frills, straightforward, you get what you ordered Indonesian food. No fancy names, no fancy decor, no fancy menus, no fancy pots spoons or plateware, just real food when you are hungry and need it.

Dependable for solid Indonesian street food. Nelayan won't win any awards for quality or cleanliness but the smiles and friendly attitude more than make up for it. Worth a visit.

We always eat here at least once when visiting Melbourne, but the food is really average in taste from an Indonesian perspective. Its not expensive but its also not great. Ok if you are in a hurry and want a quick fill of Beef Rendang with rice and vegetables, there are much better Indonesian places around but not on Swanston... More

The food is always tasty at this restaurant - lunch is especially convenient and they have a great choice. They also have side orders of sticky rice and other sweets.

Choose your food at the counter and pay at the cashier. Water is free. Chendol is nice. The meat is tender and lodeh is tasty. Sambal belachan is available too. They have set meals at around AUD9 or 10. Curry puff and kue kue too. Along Swanston St.

Great spot if you want something spicy, tasty, quick and cheap. It's no frills, but tasty.
