We were staying at a bed and breakfast a few minutes away and with there not being a lot of restaurants we were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food. Everything tastes incredibly fresh. From the ‘spats’ (just trust us you have to...try it), to the burger which for a pub burger was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The cherry on top was their Lemon bomb crème brûlée. If you are in the area don’t hesitate to stop you will not be disappointed.More

We were happily surprised at this fantastic little pub in the country. Wonderful service and delicious food. Especially the seafood chowder. Highly recommended.

Always a great meal. Wonderful gluten free fish and chips. I’ve tried many things on the menu and am always happy. I visit every time I’m in Nova Scotia

I suggest you make a reservation as there is often a line up. It is small, a little out of the way, but they have great food, a cozy atmosphere, and I will definitely go again!

It was a very busy Saturday night so we were glad that we'd made a reservation. Very nice to find a celiac friendly restaurant where the majority of the choices on the menu were available gluten free. Excellent gluten free fish & chips. Staff were...busy but very kind and friendly despite the demands on them. Highly recommend this pub.More

Our first sunny day of March and my family needed some comfort food. My Dad has to eat Gluten Free but dining out is almost impossible. The Bayport Pub is almost ALL Gluten Free or has a option! We were so happy to find a...place that could accommodate us all. The food was amazing, the waiter was friendly and quick and had a great personality. The atmosphere was comfortable and so relaxing. I cannot believe this wonderful Pub has been an hours drive and I’ve never eaten here before. Definitely made our day!More

Well, it is great to be in Nova Scotia where fresh fish is pretty much always available. But finding fish with gluten free batter is a rare thing. Moved to the area a year and a half ago and was delighted to find a very...cool pub with a great vibe that operates the year round. My partner and I are both gluten free and figured it would be hamburger without the bun and salad when we first visited. But no! Gluten free fish and chips. What a find. We really appreciate the friendly folks and the way that they stepped with a great take out service through the lock-down. Live music on Friday nights. We love it.More

We met with family at the Pub for late lunch on November 13/20 I always loved when they turn a house into a restaurant, gives such a warm presence as soon as you walk in and we was not disappointed, greeted by a waitress with...a bubbly attitude and great smile! The food was delicious, the fish was perfect, we come from a fresh fish community and I give a thumbs up to the chef he nailed it perfectly! We enjoyed our company at lunch, and was completely stuffed but not too stuffed to enjoy my favourite dessert, cream brûlée, too die for! Thanks to chef Colton and Jeff, was great to met you, we will be back! 👏👏More

Fish and chips are pretty basic foods and available everywhere, however, good fish and chips are rare in NS. The fish was fresh and the light batter did not detract from the taste of the haddock. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice meal in nice...surroundings.More

I have been to The Bayport Pub a number of times. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. This is one of the best restaurants in the province and I have eaten at many in conjunction with my work.

We decided to make a trip from Halifax to the Bayport Pub. About an hour drive, not difficult to find. We made a reservation as I wanted to sit outside. We noticed that they had quite a garden of vegetables and herbs as we sat...down My husband had a Garrison beer and I thought I would try the Elderflower Lemonade! Wow never had that before and it was such a refreshing and delicious cocktail. And fresh mint from the garden. Good selection of beers and ciders. We started with the Cauliflower Buffalo Wings! They were good and really enjoyed their homemade spicy sauce. Since we were on the south shore we thought we should try the fish and chips, which Kayla our server said they get in fresh. Well folks, I have been eating fish and chips for years and I can honestly say this was one of the best I have had!! The fish was haddock in their own special spice, rice flour and Garrison Tall Ship Beer. Fries and house made tarter sauce and coleslaw. The fish was so light, flakey and melted in your mouth! Wow! Not greasy at all just that light dusting of batter. Delicious! Well done! I only ordered one piece should have ordered two piece but ordered the homemade mushroom gravy to finish off my fries! Ha ha.. so good! Kayla our server was great, friendly informative and made our lunch very enjoyable! Pricing was very reasonable! The Bayport Pub is now on our rader and we will be back for sure!! Thanks for a great lunch!!More

Positive-fish tacos Negatives-Naan pizza (piece of naan bread with package marble cheese, a few cubes of frozen chicken and two small pieces of bacon-$14 I believe). The poutine we ordered with gravy on side since it was mushroom gravy. It came with gravy not on...the side and just a little pool of it in the middle, not nearly enough to melt the cheese. I asked it they could put more gravy on it to make enough to melt cheese. When the bill came, they charged me for extra gravy!! Pardon the pun, but that a very bad taste in my mouth and we left feeling ripped offMore

My girlfriend and I stopped by on the way back from the Ovens in the summer time. (I know this is coming late, but we felt awkward enough about it that we still remember it to this day). The pub is charming, and the atmosphere...is great, with that great wrap around deck on the outside. We thought we were going to be leaving, so we asked for our food to go while we had a beer on the deck. To our great amusement, our table was supplied with Trivial Pursuit cards. Our server was actually great. She chatted with us, brought us cold beer and was quite pleasant. We really enjoyed our time on the deck, so we decided to stay and eat our food. The server even brought us cutlery so we could eat out of our take-out containers. (Which we were happy to do). All was well, until another server came over, visibly upset, to tell us that we weren't allowed to eat food at this table. Specifically. This. Table. ? We were confused. There were five other full tables of people eating all around us. The food was good, and we were just eating it out of take-out boxes that we had already paid for. It was a rather awkward encounter. Even after we tried to explain to her that the first server knew about this. So we just left without discussing the matter further. It was just weird. Reflecting on it, maybe the second server thought we brought our own food? If that were the case, her frustration would have been more understandable. But without any polite inquiry, she basically told us we needed to leave. Cool restaurant. Weird experience.More
