We stopped for breakfast at this busy roadside soda at about 9am and we were fortunate to get the last table. There's a reason this soda is busy, the food is excellent local cuisine and very reasonably priced. My mother and I both had the...delicious Gallo pinto with omelette/scrambled eggs, washed down with two very refreshing cold glasses of guava juice and a cup of good strong coffee. As an accompaniment to our meal we were served a jar of home made 'hot sauce' that contained small chunks of cauliflower,broccoli, onions and chillis, wow it was fantastic. Despite being busy it was a relaxed atmosphere, the staff were friendly though not all speak English so best to brush up on your Spanish (which you should do anyway as you're in Costa Rica!) Overall great food, great value and set us up perfectly for the next leg of our journey. If you're passing this way, don't pass it by!More
