So disappointing, we reserved a table a month in advance for a special Birthday dinner with friends, wanting a good table. We got a table that felt like a overflow table on a landing of a multi-floor level house. Where wait staff were constantly running...up and down the stairs. Our reservation was for 7:30pm, after ordering drinks, the waiter who turns out to be the owner, took our food order, two of our party ordered Jerk Chicken supreme. The waiter/owner told us it would be 25 minutes for the Jerk chicken. That would be reasonable for us. 1.5 hours later still no food to be seen, even after getting a 2nd drink order and more bread for table, waiter/owner even forgot that we already ordered 2nd round drinks. He mentioned 45 minutes ago that our food was coming up immediately. At 9:15pm we gave up. Told him that we are leaving, he again tried to convince us to stay, saying food was coming up, but we already made up our mind to leave. He did the right thing and waived the drinks that we consumed. We left the restaurant and went somewhere else. We were so disappointed it seemed that everyone else got their food, and our table was the forgotten ones. A successful restaurant does not have the actual owner doing the waitstaff position. He susposed to be directing his staff to do the work, if Restaurant is short staffed, hire more employees. It really felt like Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen with the mess ups with the ticket times. Sorry we won't be backMore

This was our first visit to Harvest and our real first nice dinner out since Covid started. I booked a table for 4 people. Initial thoughts were very positive, we were greeted well and the server was very pleasant. He let us know there was...a large party upstairs so a delay in service was possible. We ordered drinks, a starter, and mains. We advised that one of our party was lactose intolerant and could not have the risotto with the salmon, he said they would prepare a portion without, not sure if that is possible. The starter was ok, a shared charcuterie meat and cheese board but only 4 crackers, not great. The mains arrived, the salmon, sitting on its own with some vegetables, no risotto for $34; the other orders came out, and the food was cold on all four plates. I called a server over to ask where my partner's side was, she went to check and then a manager came over and said they cannot do risotto without cream, would plain rice be ok, that was fine, they sent out a bowl of risotto? We wanted more drinks with our mains and ordered wine, but it never arrived. When the server picked up our plates, he asked how it was I commented "disappointing" He said he would provide a 30% discount on each bill, very generous, however, I would happily have paid the full bill for decent food and an enjoyable evening. We were so looking forward to the evening, instead, we all came away thinking, we would not go back. If you have a full booking for the restaurant, you have to be able to execute and provide both excellent food and service, sadly this did not happen.More

Charcuterie was excellent, fresh salad and great main courses. Wine list was awesome too. Quaint atmosphere in an old Victorian home!

We were a party of six for dinner on the patio. The good: beautiful backyard patio, excellent appetizers and drinks, excellent halibut and chicken, steaks just okay (dry) to good, excellent desserts. Pleasant servers. The bad: forcing an awkward app to order everything for six...people was a disaster.m that ruined our dinner experience. Our reservation was for 7 pm, we got seated at 7:10pm, and were immediately advised we had 1.75 hours only to stay. With the app nightmare we only got drinks at eight o’clock, no bread in the meantime, food later when we were starving. The awkward app took way too long for six people’s orders. using a small iPhone to navigate. Usually in a restaurant you order drinks, and then decide on appetizers and main course. Here we were told to order everything upfront. We requested a paper menu but this was refused “due to covid”. Say what? Every other restaurant has prior menu, why not this establishment? We were under a loud music loudspeaker and had to request twice for the volume to be lowered so we could hear each other talkMore

The food is so delicious. Lots of flavour, cooked and served perfectly. The service was really good too. Harvest restaurant has really figured out the future of restaurants post-covid. They have an app that’s easy to use to call the server or ask a question,...and you can put your order in as well.More

Arrived at the restaurant at 6:30pm. We were told we had to order our drinks, appetizers and dinner with our IPhone. We ordered two drinks at 6:35 and checked with the hostess to ensure we did it correctly. At 6:50 we asked her where are...drinks where. She said she would check. She never did. At 7:00 we asked another server. She said she would check. She never did. Then we asked a different server again about the drinks. She never checked. We re-ordered the drinks and our entire meal at 7:08. We got our drinks at 7:23 almost an hour after arriving. The servers are like zombies - they walked by our table and never noticed we hadn’t been served anything but a jug of water and two glasses for almost an hour. The entire dinning experience took two hours and 15 minutes. The food was okay - the service was horrible. Set aside at least a couple hours for dinner. I don’t recommend it.More

Cute restaurant in Whitby Ontario Where is the hostess greeting us at the front? Where was the hostess to guide us to a table? Finally ( 10-15 mins), after being seated we had to wait for another 30 mins until someone came and informed us...we needed to use our phone to order our food. I don't have a cell phone so how about a lamented menu? No can do. There was no interaction between the server and us at all. Very impersonal and very low end. We were given dirty napkins and had to ask for them to be replaced. My drink was served in the wrong type of glass and was curdled .My steak was ordered med rare and it arrived med-well done. Nothing really went well at all, We left and headed out for dessert elsewhere.More

Cute restaurant in small community just east of Toronto. I will blame Covid19 for my bad experience. The servers appeared all "freaked out" about Covid19. Ordering is via your iPhone, waited a all while for the food. No water or interaction until then. Food was...not special at all. To add insult over injury I overhear the servers talking about how they were considering not allowing Torontonians to dine there. No decision required - I will make it for you. I am not coming back nor will my friends and followers.More

Last night we have met with a family from Ottawa in Whitby for dinner at Harvest Restaurant. What a great place, considering that at the present time only a patio is open for business. The food is very delicious: all the dishes we ordered. They...now have a touchless menu, order over the phone. All people who work there were very friendly and accomodating, considering that they work under stressful conditions. I strongly suggest all Canadians support this local gem.More

We attended a family function on the patio. I cannot say enough about the food, service or atmosphere. My burger and fries were great - juicy and delicious patty and crisp and hit fries. The view from the patio is really nice.

Yes, I think it would be very kid friendly as there is a "Kid's Menu". The restaurant is divided into sections that would be perfect for diners that want a family dinner.
