We came here on Friday, for dinner. It was wonderful! We had Caesar salad, calamari, and chicken wings. The calamari had a very original, and delicious, dressing which had been ‘invented’ by the owner’s (Denise) son many years ago. Denise was very patient with our many questions about Little Current and how her business was faring during these difficult times. All the outdoor tables were occupied, as were several inside, though volumes are down significantly. Our sailboat was on a slip in the town marina and there were only 6 or 7 other boats docked, very unusual for this time of year. We really enjoyed our meal...

There is a limited number of restaurant choices in Little Current and all are busy in the peak summer season. This year (2022) may be particularly crazy after opening up after the worst of Covid shutdowns and the severe labour shortage. That being said, there was no excuse for the 40 minute wait for dinner. I was lucky to get a table quickly but after ordering, it was a very long wait for my food. And I was not alone, as people at other tables were getting fidgety and angry as their meals were also not showing up in a timely manner. There seemed to be enough serving staff, scurrying around, but they said the kitchen was backlogged. My server was very pleasant and apologetic for the delay but they offered nothing like a free drink or snack to keep the crowds at bay. A smart manager would have done one of several things - offer something like a free drink, closed several tables completely so the staff would not be overwhelmed, or at the very least informed people as they entered the restaurant that there would be a delay in getting food, out of courtesy at least. My meal finally came, a whitefish salad, which was all quite fresh, refreshing and light. The fish was cooked just right. I quite enjoyed the meal. Two nights later I returned but asked the person who was about to seat me if there would be a delay like two nights prior. She sighed, made a sour face, then went to the kitchen to find out the status of the orders. She returned saying there was again a long delay. (How could she not have known this already?) I told her the the other night was too painful so I would not go through that again and left. Too bad, as some of the other meals looked very appetizing.

Servers were masked and customers masked when walking. Tables spaced Nice service. Very good fresh salad. Had Split Rail beer❤️ The “fresh “ white fish was not fresh- possibly “fresh frozen”.

I just paid 20 dollars for a small piece of unseasoned whitefish and unseasoned microwaved broccoli. The plate was soaking wet from the microwaved frozen broccoli. My wife had pierogies, which were basically cheap frozen "no name" brand. 10. The portions and quality aren't in line with the prices. I'm expecting higher prices in a tourist town, but some basic quality and non microwaved food would be nice.

We eloped to Manitoulin Island Thanksgiving 2017. Never heard of the place. We dined then at Anchor inn and it was an experience that we tell everyone as it was one that helped create a lasting memory. Fast forward three years. We have lived here for three years. We still love this place. Great food ALLLLLL the time!!! Never a worry that you will never get less than what you pay for. If you come to Manitoulin, this place is a MUST!!

I was trying to get some "clean" food with no dairy, grains or vegetable oils and it turned out that most food are prepared in advance, therefore they can't leave out the things I am sensitive to. (Even the bacon was pre-fried.) The place was also pretty busy and we did not get looked after properly (our water refilled for example). We were happy to leave.

Was planning to have dinner here but the staff did not even acknowledge my presence. When I asked ‘how long was the wait?’, I was told an hour followed by a very angry comment “we are doing the best we can”. Meanwhile, an uncleaned and unoccupied table was sitting right there in plane view for the 30 minutes I waited. I left and went to Elliott’s where I received immediate attention, fantastic service, and superior food (white fish).

All summer we have been very honest with all of our guests. An hour wait time has been our usual, especially for dinner service. Not only do we have the patio, the inside tables, we also have a lot of take out. Because of the rules set but the health ministry of Ontario we are not allowed to sit you at a dirty table. It needs to be properly sanitized. Remember this is an unusual time for us all. Hope you will reconsider on your next visit to give us a try.

We ate on patio because of COVID fears. Everything there was great, especially the attentive service and of course the food. I had been wanting to try whitefish but some restaurants had none, or you had to order 3 hours in advance which was not conducive to our travel plans. Our grilled whitefish sandwiches were superb, the fries fresh and crispy and the coleslaw salad was the best I have eaten anywhere. Just wonderful! Keep up the good work.

We were there on the first night of stage 3 opening during the pandemic so was very busy as they adapted. We were advised a 40 minute wait but were seated in 10. The rest of the wait was for our food as the orders were backed up. Staff were great. Serving of local whitefish was very generous. A lot of history here. Looks like a great place on a Friday in summer if we didn’t have a global plague in progress. Hope to go back one day. Directly across from the park and harbour.

Offers a basic bar and restaurant in a town which offers no other similar options. They seem to have overcome recent staffing problems .We found the service adequate and the food quite edible. I recommend the bison burger, which unlike hamburger, can be ordered rare. The local draft beer is excellent ..Moderate prices..

Had lunch here on March 8th. We ordered the smokey burger a handmade burger topped with sauteed onions, smokey bbq sauce and swiss cheese. Both burgers were overcooked to the point where there were several burnt spots. the onions were burnt not sauteed and the swiss cheese was translucent. My husband wanted to send them back and I said no. We had already waited 15-20 minutes for our food. The only thing that was fresh was the bun. Very dissappointing for a $26.27 lunch! The waitress did not approach our table until we were finished eating. She then asked how everything was. We told her and all she did was smile and said she would relay the information to the cook. We should have spoken to the owner. We will not be returning to the establishment in the new future

We have been coming to The Anchor Inn restaurant for many years. It is our #1 choice for lunch or supper on Manitoulin Island. The owner Dee is always friendly and welcoming and always stops to chat for a few minutes. The food is very good with a varied menu to suit everyone. The service usually fast and the wait staff friendly. Today was our anniversary and to our pleasant surprise Dee bought our lunch. Thank you very much, Dee!

We'd been sailing Lake Huron and pulled into Little Current for the evening. Had a very delicious, memorable and fun evening thanks to the owner, Dee and her excellent staff! Their bartender made some amazing vodka tonics and our food selections were fantastic! My friend and I had the sea salt firecracker Calamari as an appetizer and split the white fish tacos, my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Our big laugh of the evening came from our sailing host, Henning...he was whining about the bang bang shrimp, so I am sure Dee will remember him (ha ha)

Dropped in on this place after getting into Little Current early evening. Great fish and good beer. Service was attentive and although the place was really busy we weren’t neglected at any point. Would have eaten there again if the place wasn’t closed on Mondays!
