The hostess welcomed us in the beautiful old "pannenhuis" and was very happy to explain us a bit more about what makes this house so special. The renovated interior is very cosy full of character. We were offered some amuses bouches and decided compare the simmental and rubia gallega dry-aged beef. The steaks were grilled to perfection. Amazingly rich flavors!... More

This nearly 200 year old rotisserie is in the heart of the capital and located in Jette. The meat is just splendid, fresh or aged. From pata negra (succulent) to their steach haché, from Zimmenthaler steak to cod, all is superbly cooked/baked and top notch . They serve good champagne and have a great wine list, not too long but... More

This is the third time I have visited the restaurant, but the first time for lunch. The ambience of the place is the first thing you notice when entering, then a great welcome from the staff. The speciality is the steaks, the dry aged steaks are displayed in a special cabinet and your choice is cut from a whole piece... More

When you pass by restaurant on street, you would not think much of it. But when you are inside the restaurant blows you away - cosy, genuine & great personal service. Food is excellent and cannot think of a better place to eat grilled meat! A hidden gem that we will definitely be going back to!

Vieux pannenhuis has a clear connection with history : Leopold I , the first King of the Belgians stopped in this old post house before on his way from The Panne into Brussels to take the royal oath . This sets the scene for the very harty Belgian cuisine served in this well known house but its reputation is well... More

We went for a business lunch but was not the ideal place. To heavy lunch and not a lot of choice (especially for vegetarians). Very classic, which is not wrong, but here it was rather basic. I am sure (and hope) the restaurant can make more out of it, which would be good for the neighborhood.

Thank you for your feedback concerning the lunch. Many visitors like to take the time and enjoy a longer lunch but I fully understand your position when talking about a business lunch. What would be your suggestions for a lighter meal? I thought about great salads for instance. I would highly appreciate some suggestions from a customer like you who... More

This was the second time I had eaten here as part of a large group (50-70 people) which blocked-booked the whole restaurant for the evening, and it was a real pleasure to go back. The warmth of the welcome from the staff was matched by the roaring fire in one of the large dining rooms in this lovely old house... More

In an very old house with o lot of historical past and simular decoration, you can find a fair meal or menu at a reasonable price. Good food, good service and an unforgetable interior. Your friend (girl) will appreciate it!

Le vieux pannenhuis is probably very happy with all the good reviews they get and as a result, they just don't care anymore. The decoration is nice and the place looks good, from the outside, inside and the menu. But that's where it ends. The food itself isn't very good. We were with a relatively large group. When someone asked... More

Thank you for your detailed feedback. I would like to further investigate what happened during your visit at Le Vieux Pannenhuis. Would it be possible for you to inform me about the date of your visit to check about the service and the kind of soup you ordered as no soup should be served lukewarm. At only 2 steps from Brussels Expo and the Atomium. enjoy a gourmet experience away from the stress of the city in the quietude of a picturesque inn dating back to the seventeenth century. "Le Vieux Pannenhuis" has been known for decades for its subtle blend of classic gourmet dishes and daring culinary preparations, its hearty grilled meats, its proposals of lobster, scallops or serrano ham, and the best game preparations in Brussels during the season. Many businessmen meet here at lunchtime for the great businesslunch formula. The place also attracts a discreet gourmet public. Our guests gather here in the winter, around the open fires, or, in the summer, in the small intimate city garden or in the airconditioned rooms. A trip back in time, a magical place that will not leave you unmoved. As pointed out recently in "The Bulletin", after a great dinner at "Le Vieux Pannenhuis", you may unexpectedly find yourself wondering where you parked your caleche !
