We ventured out of our hotel ( El Establo) in the pouring rain and fell into d'sofia by chance. What a lucky find, amazing food, wonderful flavours. Excellent attentive service and amazing cocktails. Reasonable prices for the calibre of food served, a must eat place if you are in St Elena.

We found this restaurant on our last night in Monte Verde and what a treasure it turned out to be. The restaurant is beautiful, rustic and charming. Service was absolutely spot on, they are obviously very proud of the restaurant. We had wonderful cocktails and milkshakes to start and every dish was exquisite. Prices were reasonable given the quality of... More

Fantastic place to dine ,very very reasonable price wise . Cocktails to die for and ice cold beer. As a group of 10 the food served ,we all agreed was one of the best meals we have had in all of Costa Rica it was to such a high standard. We would recommend dinning here without a shadow of a... Of all our gastronomic experiences in Costa Rica this was the one that surprised us both in quality and in service. Was the level of a restaurant in a capital. Also the price was a little higher. For a convivio dinner at the end of a day of much activity is a good option.

We chose this restaurant mainly because we liked the idea of Latin American fushion but also because the restaurant looked stylish. The food exceeded all expectations. The chocolate chimichanga was especially delicious. The service was fantastic too and the gentleman in charge was only to happy to explain what was in each dish and also make wine recommendations. We would... More

The food here was more European in style and presentation. It seemed expensive compared to other restaurants but it did offer a different standard of cooking. Perfect for a romantic evening. The host was very gracious and we really enjoyed the food.

We wandered into d'Sofia somewhat impulsively, and immediately were impressed by the design and menu.We had been wanting to try local beef, so we ordered their Beef Tenderloin withRoasted Red Pepper and Cashew Sauce. It was perfect, as were the asparagus and the mashed potatoes. We started with Enyucados (croquettes filled with smoked provolone) as an appetizer and they were... More

We went for dinner around 6:00/6:30 pm and we were the only ones there at first! We had great service and great food. The decor was really nice, the best soups we ever had! Entrees were also very good.

Compared to every other restaurant I've eaten in this week - expensive. Compared to every other restaurant I've eaten in this week -WORTH EVERY PENNY! I had the Sweet Potato With Plantain Soup - TO DIE FOR. I asked for the recipe. The Shrimp and Sea Bass Chimichanga, also excellent but I could have had a couple quarts of the... More

This restaurant is well worth a visit or two or even three! We were in Monteverde for two nights and ate here both times. After our first meal was so enjoyable we just had to come back to try the rest of the menu and when we did they gave us a discount for returning! The staff was so friendly... More
