The daily menu was a good deal, the pasta taste acceptable, but was more like something you'd get at a corner eatery, not a restaurant, the meat (plateada) was well cooked, though a bit dry. The salad was alright, though tomato was a bit pasty. The pastel de choclo (a typical chilean dish) was a bit mushy and the taste... More

We'd been to most of Vicuña's restaurants on previous nights before we took the plunge and ate at the cavernous Halley's - we'd have been better served not trying something new. There's little wrong with Halley's, but little right either. In a country where my sense is that most food is hand made, Halley's food seemed to be a combination... More

After a long drive from Valparaiso to Vicuña, we were hungry and our hostess at the B&B suggested this restaurant so off we went. At about 7:30 pm we were pretty early by Chilean standards and felt a little lost inside the large restaurant. Still, the waitstaff was very friendly and helpful and we set about ordering. We ended up... More

We decided not to cook and head out for dinner, finding this restaurant was a huge mistake. We ordered juice which was watered down and then told the only chicken dish on the menu was the 6500 pesos option and by then we were hungry and committed to staying. We were brought some bread with the most disgusting accompaninents; red... More

With memories of the best cheese empanadas in Chile from 12 years ago we were eager to have dinner. We should not have bothered. Canned vegetables as salads. Braised goat that was dry and lacked flavour, even salt. Time to move on to s new favourite or cook ourselves.

Sadly the place a few yards up the road (which has excellent reviews) was totally packed and nowhere else seemed to be open. I should've guessed that this place would be dreadful since it was so empty, but against my better judgement I decided to try it, which was an error. The simple steak and potato dish that my partenr... More

Have a meal-deal in the attached cafeteria. There, they don't server beer, but do provide a small range of good meals for a mere 2800CLP.

There aren't too many choices here so this is a safe place to eat. The staff is friendly and service is good.

We went in for an early (by Chilean standards) dinner and were the only people in the restaurant at 6:30 pm. My husband ordered the marinated rabbit stew and at had the roasted lamb. The rabbit was so salty as to be barely edible. The lamb was over cooked to the point of being completely dry and stringy. It was... More
