During Covid, we have been heading out of town from Toronto, safely, for day trips. Today we landed here. We had our dog with us, and their back patio was enclosed and could not accommodate him, so these amazing people set a table for us...out front! The best private dining experience! Wonderful service, really solid food, at decent prices. We loved it!More

My wife and I booked for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary which coincided with their Thursday “date night” special where two can dine for $60.00. This a a small but delightful restaurant. Owners are friendly and the food is excellent. We have...no hesitation in recommending. You will not be disappointed. Not only is the restaurant highly recommended for its food and ambience but they also have paid great attention to safety during the pandemic. We felt 100% safe while dining there. Suggest you try Cassis for yourselves and suggest to your friends...but please don’t tell too many people as we want to be able to ensure our own repeat bookings!More

Our meal was delivered due to COVID. We had shrimp bisque, beef medallions, and lemon tart. It was all excellent. They provided easy clear instructions for reheating it. The prices are quite reasonable for what you get.

My wife and I had a fabulous evening at Cassis Bistro. Jacky and Rob were the consumate hosts. They have the dining area set up for Covid but you wouldn't know it. It feels like you have the restaurant to yourself. Ambience was very calming...and inviting. To the food (don't have the menu in front of me, but here goes), we had the "Festive Special", Starters- Phylo with apple and a special cheese, Butternut Squash Ravioli. Entres- Beef Bourgonon and Maple Glaze Pork Tenderloin. Dessert- Christmas Cheese Cake, Egg Nog Creme Brule........Chef Sharon knocked everything out of the park! Every dish had its own identity. The flavors were inclusive and not over powering, perfect! Best vodka martini I've had in a while yo boot! Thanks again Team Cassis. You never disappoint! All the best for the remainder of (ech!) 2020! John and Joanne (Toronto/Buckhorn)More

I have been here many times over the years but it has been a while since I last wrote a review. This restaurant still ticks off all the boxes for me. Warm and friendly service. Food is wonderful with a great presentation. There is a...lovely menu to choose from. I feel like I am in France with the intimate atmosphere. Great desserts.More

Stopped at this delightful restaurant for lunch on our way to the cottage . Our call for a reservation was returned promptly . The restaurant is small, intimate and comfortable . The two different soups and the seafood crepes with bechemal sauce were outstanding ....The restaurant made chocolate cake was not long out of the oven and would be a credit to any Toronto fine dining experience . Service was warm and professional . For the quality of the food the prices were quite reasonable . Steve , Aurora Ontario.More

Stepping in is like stepping into a little village bistro in rural France. The food is OUTSTANDING and rivals anything anywhere in the country.. A MUST stop in Lakefield. Proud to say Cassis is in my home town!

We were staying at Viamede Resort for an anniversary getaway, and booked a table here based on TA reviews. Really the best meal we have had in a long time – and not just because of covid. Service was excellent, my husband had contacted Jacky...after I made the reservation and secretly arranged to have flowers delivered to our table – Jacky was very helpful in suggesting a local florist. In recognition of our special day, Jacky had the chef decorate our dessert plate with Happy 45th in chocolate and offered to take our picture. A very nice touch and much appreciated. This was the first indoor dinner we have had since covid so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but felt completely safe. Although the seating area indoors is small, the tables were spaced well apart, and there was a screen separating our table from the one behind us. Lots of hand sanitizer available, and masks worn, etc. We both had the same thing – Caesar salad, filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, potatoes galette and grilled veggies. Everything was absolutely scrumptious. For dessert, I had the fruit crisp with ice cream – very good – and hubby had the lemon tart – SO tart and SO lemony, I tried a bite and wished I had ordered it instead. If I lived in the area I would go there just for the lemon tart! My husband isn't much of a dessert person, but I noticed he didn't offer to share it with me and finished it to the last crumb -- so that says a lot! Topped things off with a cappuccino and a specialty Cassis coffee – a perfect experience. Lakefield is lucky to have this hidden gem of a restaurant.More
