I normally don’t like leaving negative reviews but this is the third time I have ordered the crispy Pata and it was really not good, so I felt I should leave a review. Hardly any meat and the skin was flubbery. It was really mostly...bone, like they took off the best parts for Lechon Kawali and left this piece for the unlucky person who placed an order of crispy Pata. I was hoping the other times were flukes but I guess not. It’s the last time I’m ordering this dish and the fried chicken. On the plus side, the pancit and bisteak were tasty.More

Well, well, well, what an ABSOLUTE GEM to discover in a little strip mall in the West Island. Beck's Sunday buffet is a terrific introduction to Filipino food. This way, you pay one price and you get to taste a variety of items to know...your brand-new favourites! Normally, I am superb at listing exactly what I try at a restaurant I review but this was my first intro to Filipino food beyond pansit and adobo. Therefore, the names of the different dishes were unfamiliar to me. I can tell you however, the menu for the buffet we enjoyed in early March included - Ginisang Munggo, steamed and fried rice, Filipino spaghetti (a little on the sweet side), Pork Kare Kare, Beef Caldereta, Fish Filet in Coconut Milk, Dinuguan, Chicken Afritada and Ginataang Munggo. They put out the menu the day before. And you should reserve in advance as the restaurant is small. They have two seatings for their Sunday buffet. Service was among the friendliest I have ever experienced and I've eaten in posh places all around the world. The food was flavourful and delicious. I loved the many condiments offered, from chilli sauces to vinegars to limes. The interior was beautifully decorated, in white, with chandeliers on the ceiling. It was a touch of class and posh but with such down-to-earth warm hospitality. It felt like we were being received by a beloved aunt. I am totally coming back to Beck's and I cannot wait to bring a group of friends to try their Kamayan (Boodle fight meal) which is a communal meal spread out on banana leaves and we eat with our hands. What an experience that will be. Beck's, I hope you stay open for a long time to come. Wishing you well.More

We had never been to Filipino restaurant before but we couldn't have been more pleased. When we arrived we were greeted right away and we told the waitress we had never had this kind of food. She was extremely polite and took her time and...explained all the dishes to us. We found what we ate very good and are going back tomorow for sunday brunch. The ambiance is very nice ( the Christmas tree was gorgeous and made for a very nice atmosphere.More

Delicious food at very reasonable prices, generous servings, impeccable and friendly service, casual yet elegant ambiance and easy parking. Upon the recommendation of a foodie friend who is just discovering Filipino food, we ordered crispy pata (pork leg). It was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy...surrounded by a crispy skin and served with pickled green papaya and homemade sauce. One order is more than enough for 2! We tried many other side dishes and desserts, which were all good. We'll have to come back again to try more of their Filipino food, which I think will soon hit mainstream cuisine!More

We tried this place after noticing one of our favorite breakfast places closed and this nice Filipino family run restaurant opened. Authentically different and to our palate very pleasing. We tried the fried rolls one vegetarian one with pork, they were good. The minced pork...dish with a fried egg upon it was yummy, the deep fried pork leg also tasty (a little dry though) the pork belly, wow. They offered us a few desserts to try, the rice cake with coconut milk and shredded coconut with condensed milk, this dessert was green and another cake with coconut milk, this was an amber color. They were all good and visually interesting and sweet !More

We had heard nothing but praise for Beck's from our family friend so many times and decided to finally try it out for ourselves. We were not disappointed. It is located in the strip mall on Des Sources boulevard, between Marche Sheng Tai and Jean...Coutu (Closer to the Jean Coutu side). There is plenty of free on-site parking available. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm. We were greeted by friendly and helpful waitstaff and were seated immediately. After being given a few minutes to browse through the menu, our order was taken. The menu has a good selection of Filipino dishes. We ordered the Bulalo, Palabok, Longsilog and Beck Silog as well as an appetizer of shanghai egg rolls. Diners are all given a complimentary bowl of soup (Bulalo broth) which was excellent to start off with considering the cold weather lately. Portions are excellent for the price. And the food was so good. Service was quick and attentive. We even had Beck herself come by our table to ask how everything was. The West Island has been waiting for it's own "good" Filipino" restaurant. Finally, we have one. We will definitely be coming back again and again. You owe it to yourself to try this place out.More
