Hidden Gem

Not really that hidden . Just hadn't heard of it till last week . Great selection , excellent service , large portions and reasonable prices . Went with another couple , who had been there a few times over the last 10 years . We never knew the place existed , but sure glad we went . Waitresses always coming back and asking if we needed anything or topping up our drinks . Apparently as busy at lunch time as it is at dinner , but we were seated quickly , with no reservations . Will be back soon . If there was anything that was a negative , it may have been the buzz of people noise , but you have to expect that if everyone is having a good time . Forgot , everything we saw or ate was homemade and the menu lists vegetarian , gluten free and senior meals also .

Food was good with a few issues.

We stopped recently at Ruby's Cookhouse for lunch located in Aylmer. Ruby's has a large diverse menu including a large breakfast menu. We ordered the Quesadillas, southwest chicken club wrap and a beef dip. Our server was friendly and helpful. The place was very busy but we received our food in a reasonable time. The quesadilla were delicious but a bit greasy but still good. The southwest chicken club wrap had to much ranch dressing which made the wrap really soggy. The wrap was good but soggy. We also ordered the beef dip. The roast beef was a bit dry. Food was good but had a couple minor issues. We still like Rubys and will be back.

Worth the drive to Aylmer just for Ruby's Cookhouse

My wife and I were on a two night mini-vacation in Port Burwell, where we had a delightful time - except for the total lack of good quality restaurant choices. After suffering from overpriced and meagre quantity fish n chips and not wanting yet again pizza, we decided to drive to Aylmer and try their local restaurants. Settling on Ruby's we were impressed with the serving staff, the quality and quantity of food and the pleasant family atmosphere. Desserts were yummy too. We were so pleased that my wife made a point of complimenting the owner as we left.

First time but can't wait to come back!

Excellent food and wonderful table service. I had the gyro and the house tzatziki is fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their lunch (clubhouse & mouth watering oven baked chicken with a tasty Greek salad (excellent salad dressing) Definitely a do again!! Too full to enjoy the tantalizing desserts in the showcase as you walk in. Perhaps dessert first next time??? Thank you!!

Great place to eat

Owner and staff are great, always feel welcomed at Ruby’s. Large selection on there menu to please children and adults, I am sure you won’t be disappointed. Service has been fast every time we visit.

Always Great!

The food and service were wonderful, as usual. Kim was right on top of everything, even with our "picky" orders. She is never far away but doesn't smother you. Today we tried two items we hadn't tried before and they were absolutely delicious. This is my go to gem close to home.

Valentines meal

Had our Valentines night out at Ruby's and food plus service both great. Always good food and service here. And love rhe fact that they don't have over loud music drowning out conversation. They also have decent beer on tap.

Very excellent steak dinner. Portions more than one can eat. Perfectly cooked and delicious. Included a huge salad, potato & amazing veggies. the service was excellent as usual.

This place was Hoppin!!

The Pad Thai stir fry was amazing and the portion was huge. My daughter had the salmon which she enjoyed. We topped it off with a couple of slices of cheesecake- YUM! They were very busy but were super friendly. I would definitely recommend!

I had the fish tacos, they were very good. Our server was very pleasant. The price is very comparable to other places in town. Will go back.
