Mums is a small restaurant in Mindemoya, but the apple fritters are out of this world. Warning: you need to call in your order for your apple fritter order at 6am or you'll be out of luck. They only seem to make so many during the day and they seem to be sold out within the hour! If you are lucky enough to get your order of fritters fresh from the oven, they will melt in your month :) Save up your appetite - the fritters are huge!
The food here was very good and tasted like a homemade meal. Which was a delight, as because of the restrictions due to Covid our expectations were that it was going to be standard burger and fries. The meal we purchased was far tastier than we expected.
These folks know how to make a coffee! Check out their delicious vanilla bean frap. Quick service if you're in a rush. We came every morning on our holiday- thanks for your great coffee and friendly service.
It is usually busy at lunch so food takes a little long. Food was great and burgers are always a must have. Cute little diner.
This was our third summer visiting Manitoulin Island but we’d never tried Lake Huron Fish & Chips, despite all the great reviews until now. Lineups are huge and business is brisk so it’s best to call ahead and order well in advance of when you’d like to eat. Or, like our friends did who stayed nearby, drop by to order, and then come back an hour later to pick up. Having tried it, I can now understand what all the fuss is about! It really is extremely good fish and chips!! The batter is light and flavourful and not at all greasy. The fish tastes great and chips are crispy. They even make their own tartar sauce with little slivers of pickle right in it, and give you the option of normal tartar sauce and a spicy version. Gotta say. Worth the wait. All the great reviews are bang on. If you go to the island, and especially if you’re on the gorgeous Providence Bay beach next to it, you should definitely try it!
Great little pizza place in M'Chigeeng with ample parking. We stopped for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the portion of the pizza. We got the double pepperoni and it has very large slices, you definitely get your moneys worth and youre not sacrificing flavor for the size either. The sauce is sweet but very tasty and the crust is a solid medium thickness. Was craving pizza and this hit the spot. Quick and friendly service and they even have a table or two outside on a deck to eat. Would recommend if you're looking for a quick slice of quality pizza on the island.
Nice atmosphere located in Providence Bay. Outdoor seating is nice except for droppings from trees. service is good but compared to other Island restaurants it is expensive
They are located on a small road and there are some picnic tables to eat. It is take out only! The prices are a bit high for quick bites and there are no combos. You can add fries or poutine on top of ordering burger. However, poutine/fries portion are big!
Lovely location, beautiful gardens, quaint atmosphere, Manitoulin souvenirs for purchase. The food was good but pricey and portions were small. I ordered the polenta which consisted of three small slices of polenta, some tomato sauce and a few olives. It was over $20 for maybe $2 worth of ingredients, and I was still hungry. My friends had the schnitzel and laketrout and their portions were small as well. Everyone had room for dessert and we still needed a bedtime snack. Meals for three people without dessert was $150 before tip.
