A tip from a local resident led us to this small restaurant, on Government Road (Highway 22), just behind the Black Diamond Hotel. We enjoyed the "Queso Pimento" soup of the day, served with fresh sourdough bread. For dessert, we shared the decadent "Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich"which was two enormous chocolate chip cookies with a thick layer of ice cream in between. On our next visit, we plan to try the deep fried avocado!

In early December my wife and I had breakfast at the Chuckwagon Cafe. We liked it so much that today we returned with my In-laws. We had the same upbeat, friendly and energetic server, Genevieve. She can brighten and make anyone’s day better. On both occasions we witnessed the same upbeat friendly behaviour from all the servers. The food is excellent, especially the eggs benedict. Keep in mind this is a small eatery and you may have to wait 20 minutes or more at times, but it is well worth the wait.

The food here is always fresh and amazing. It is a favorite with both locals and visitors alike. We order both from the pho menu as well as the other menu choices and all are exceptional. We eat here on a monthly basis as we are local to the area, and have never ever been disappointed and often see him busy with take out. Totally worth a visit

We were on the bikes today just putting a few hundred kilometers on the tires. We'd pulled into BD to visit one of our regular places and, forgetting it was Wednesday, found our regular place closed. This lead to the happy discovery on the Soft Rock Bistro! I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon, fries and a slush. The folks behind the counter are attentive and very pleasant folks. The burger was incredible!! The spicing was perfect; the vegetables crisp and fresh; and, the fries were hot, lightly seasoned, and golden. The lemonade slush was refillable and delightfully refreshing after a long hot ride up from Chain Lakes. It was the best burger that I've had in a very long time.

The pizza from Foothills Pizza is delicious. The crust is soft but somewhat chewy and smothered in cheese with lots of toppings. Their 2 for 1 pizza deal has consistently been the best value around. They have pick-up and delivery. Providing a great experience for over 20 years.

I loved this place. The fonzie burger was yummy. Fries were crispy and banana split was delicious, especially the strawberry ice cream. Don't listen to the previous reviews. I eat at high end, low end restaurants all the time and this was worth it. The decor and set up could use a little TLC, however, I felt like I wanted to go back and visit the 50's. Bring the kids to this place for sure if your not on a strict budget. I get the feeling that the reviews on here are made by others who might be slightly cheap!

I love ginger beef. Theirs is the BEST! Have visited several times in the past few months usually bringing new friends and family. Everyone was impressed Looking forward to dining in again.

This has become out. Compared to the restaurants in Calgary you cannot compare, the prices are reasonable, the portions are plentiful and the food is exceptional. They have a great menu, the venue is very comfortable and inviting. The servers are pleasant and do not have the entitlement attitude so many in the city have. It is a nice drive from Calgary and we will try and go there at least once a week.

Whenever I am in Black Diamond, usually in the Summer, I always stop in to Grillo's. Whether for for their yummy pizza, or amazing soft serve ice cream (not joking probably the best soft serve selection in Southern Alberta), it is always a treat! I cannot come to Black Diamond and not have a soft serve ice cream from Grillo's, it is that good!

Honesty for a pizza connoisseur this is the best pizza around south Alberta. If you know a good pizza then you will not be let down from here. If you like a greasy, soggy, wet, over loaded unbaked pizza go down the street. La Cazza or no pizza for me. Thank you for your service La Cazza 🖤

Through the years I have eaten at several Pizza Hut locations in different cities; however, this Pizza Hut has the best tasting pizza of them all.

Newly renovated with free wifi. Eat in or take out. Friendly staff and decent Subway food. It's nice to have a Subway in a small town.

Friends meeting for lunch at our new local DQ. Clean, fast, friendly in-house dining. Lots of drive-thru customers while we were there.

When you walk in the front door, you are transferred into an old two story English house with warm smells. The variety of tea is exceptional, the service friendly, and the ginger cookie was huge!

On our way to the Sheep River Falls, we stopped into this location for refreshments. The drive through staff were were pleasant and our order served quite promptly. The Timbits were very fresh and their coffee very good as well. Great service, lots of parking and this location had easy access.

I stopped at the Country Store Diner after a September mid-week hike in Kananaskis. There was virtually no one at the restaurant, so I choose to sit on the patio. I ordered the Loaded Beef Burger Platter. The food was good, reasonably priced, and the service had a small town feel to it.

Great place to stop for a relaxing afternoon. We went on a motorbike drive and the colourful and spacious outdoor area caught our eye....food was delicious, background music very entertaining and the ladies who served us were friendly and bubbly. We enjoyed it a lot.

Coyote Moon Restaurant was highly recommended, but we were disappointed with breakfast for the price. Poor service. Serve yourself. Cold room. Only one refill coffee allowed. Tasted terrible. Will not be going back.

We stopped at the Turner Inn more than two years during our Sunday drive in the country, and we have been back ever since. The Chinese special has always been my wife's favorite and it's priced right for my wallet. I usually have Lasagna, Salmon and a variety of food items on the menu. The table wine was too sweet for my liking, but they filled the glass to the top.. a double. Now you can see I am a value guy, but I always leave a good tip.

It looks unassuming. If you didn't know about it you would drive by without noticing it. Just an ordinary bungalow at the crossroads. But why the big parking lot? the picnic tables? the welcoming doorway? You open the spring door to a bit of warm air wafting from the open kitchen. Inside you find country style tables and chairs; big smiles from the locals who all greet you with at least a friendly smile. On the menu: Hungarian Mushroom soup, thick and full of flavour. Pies like you wish your mom had made for you. The best coffee and chai any where near here. delicious salads. breakfasts. big servings. everything so good. It is a big treat to come here even from YYC. This is down home cooking and heartfelt service at its very best. I come here all the time. but beware, they close at 3pm, a most reasonable family friendly decision.

Go regularly for the wings, pool and great people that hang out there. We take guests and family there all the time. Lorie is just great!

I met a friend for breakfast for a good old gab-fest. We had our coffee and were able to talk comfortably without having to order right away. I had a most delicious ham & cheese omelette served with cubed potatoes and toast.

Amazing pizza, a tad Pricey, but you get what you pay for. The chefs Pride is outstanding, all fresh toppings and the crust is almost perfect.

Four of us took the extra long drive from Canmore to the restaurant, including the dusty Smith Dorrien. That Strongbow Cider certainly hit the spot upon arrival to meet the other two families in our group of 10 + infant. Owen fit beautifully in the high chair. Cocktails were delicious, hubby commented on his lovely Campari 'n Soda. Sam has the most joyful personality and he took time to ensure we each ordered in detail, each of the 8 different entrees. How the chef/ess manage to cook to absolute perfection each and every entree and present it so beautifully, is beyond me!! Altman and Sam took excellent care of us, keeping water glasses filled, etc. We brought two bottles of The Vicar wine and it was worth the $18.95 corkage per bottle to drink. We also indulged in at least 5-6 desserts, but I only wish a famous Longview Cinnamon Roll was amongst the choices as I would have taken one home. Owner took a Family Photo for us from the enclosed Balcony. The drive home via Hwy 40 was magical as so seldom do I drive it at dusk.
