The food was delicious! The chicken was soft, and not at all chewy or hard. The chips were so tasty, the coleslaw was fresh and homemade, and the rice went very well with the entire meal. The portions were huge, so we took the leftovers with us...and we got TWO more dinners out of them! Worth the price. Our waitress was very patient, and quite friendly. Not intrusive and not ignoring us. Perfect level of care, and also giving us the privacy to enjoy our dinner in peace.
Dropped by while we were getting some work done on our cars, coffee & almon croissant was awesome. I ordered 4 papo secos traditional Portuguese buns to take home. Wanted to soak up our sauce that we had with dinner, I opened the bag and these 4 papo secos they gave us were terrible ... not even close to what we were expecting... they should of warned us. I would say these were tasteless and not worth it at all... please give us the real version of papo secos, not this cheap rendition of wonder bread
Glad I had my gps to get here, A little confusing to enter their shop as it tells you to go somewhere else, however having checked my gps, it’s literally around the corner. Entered and was met by 2 stern looking ladies. Let one know what I wanted and was surprised by a great sandwich. Look past the welcoming committee and enjoy a great cold cut sandwich for $5.50. Would recommend.
Another excellent visit at Wild Orchid - our staples include the grilled sardines, rabbit and piri piri chicken (which comes with authentic fries!). We also like that you can purchase Portugese wine at a very reasonable price for a full litre, in the same way offered in Europe. Since getting to Europe is too difficult now, this little slice of Portugal is welcomed! Their refurnished patio is wonderful in summer too.
Enjoy a casual dinner of traditional Portuguese fare. Paired with a demi-bottle of red wine, a home cooked meal awaits you. Family owned, you will receive great service from one of the hard working family members. Recommended to me by a close friend who eats there most days, I can recommend this to you!
We ordered the whole chicken with 2 sides special for a family of four. The chicken was great...flavourful, juicy and really tasty. Had the piri piri sauce on the side. Had the roast potatoes and rice as sides. Servings were huge. Had lots of leftovers. Called order in and it was ready at the promised time. Definitely going back!
Trying out the great sandwich places in The Hammer and went here. Easy parking, lovely staff and friendly people . Asked for the spicy deli meat and whatever they recommended on it. Great sandwich and was full, all for $6.50 all in. Definitely recommended.
Ordered for take out last evening The chicken was amazing, the skin crispy and chicken beautifully cooked. The spicy sauce was perfectly balanced on flavour and heat. The potato balls were 90% perfect Potato Chips (thinly sliced fried potatoes) were slightly undercooked The rice was flavourful and perfectly done. Portion sizes were decent and overall a great meal. While waiting for the food, I sat in the restaurant, friendly and clean.
This was my first time trying Nandos. I ordered takeout. I had the 1/4 chicken breast / wing with 2 sides being: the peri peri fries and caesar salad. Overall, the chicken, fries and salad tasted good. The fries had good flavouring. The to-go sauce container for the chicken came in a small packet, would be better if it was a bit larger. The chicken portion was also smaller than I expected, but overall with the two sides the meal was sufficient.
Their breakfast sandwich is amazing, Sandwiches are fresh and made to order. Their Natas (Portuguese custard tarts) hands down one of the best I have ever tasted. The pizza is next level as well.
You immediately know they are grilling over charcoal-the bags of it piled everywhere are a bit of a tip off. But the smell of BBQ when you enter is hard to miss. The food is well prepared and made to order, so there is a bit of a wait, but completely worth it. Buns are really fresh and the optional toppings for the sandwiches should satisfy most. Portion size is generous, and the pricing is very good.
Went here for a take out food as a treat. Food is average. I ordered the side of fries to get the piriri mayo...it was left out of my order. 😒 Fries average better at Harvey's. Rice plentiful double portion really just like hubby's roasted potatoes but both lacked spices and flavour. We ordered medium level. It was mild to nothing in spice level. My quarter chicken small too. NANDO's piri piri chicken much better. Roasted side of veggies divine and even Rony's on Gray in Stoney Creek is also much better...food in both of those places has lots of flavour. My quarter chicken was small. Seems they want to fill you up on carbs.
