The food! The very best Sweet and Sour Chicken. I have not found another with the thin crispy outside, tender all chicken inside and homemade sweet and sour sauce. Add to that, fresh seasonal vegetables, traditional fried rice and a freshly made spring roll. Very friendly and helpful staff. I travel from outside of the city for 30 minutes just to go there. Excellent value for the money.
We order a huge scoff from Long Dragon every Christmas and eat it for three days straight. It’s unbelievably good. I think about their chicken soo guy on a weekly basis. I wish they delivered - because I would order it more often. This is a winner!
This is the only place I totally enjoy Chinese food mainly because they have not changed or modified their food so much that you don't even recognize it. They have not compromised their value for the money. I eat out a lot and none compares. There is another in Dartmouth very good but the staff here are the best and the prices are the best and the food is the best. We were so happy to be able to get their food again. I had to try other places before they opened during covid. None compared. Thanks so much for keeping you food the way we expect and for being there.
This restaurant has been our favourite for years. Menu selection is varied, portions are kind, and food is absolutely delicious!! Our daughter is gluten free, and food is always good. Skip the dishes also offered and we’re appreciative. Lunch specials are excellent prices and portions and offered til 4pm. We often take out lunch for our dinner! Red curry chicken and masamin curried beef are our favourites. Thai chicken skewer absolutely delicious as well. Highly recommend!
Hey gang it is okay Chinese food at an okay price. I have eaten here several times over the year out of convenience. The servers for the most part are lost having no serving skills, not clearing as they go, not understanding the menu, confused on payment systems etc... so that's a negative. The food is slightly above average but all things considered this is an average Chinese restaurant.
Visited this joint for lunch since this place has excellent reviews largely. Other location on Quinpool also does very well. Im sorry to say but I was not impressed as the sushi rice was stale, cold and dry. The chef kept to their tradition of "free stuff" however it does not matter to me as this is not a quality sushi. For the price Wasabi Sushi offer's way more than what you can get at any other sushi restaurant. No doubt this joint is very popular amongst students community in HRM but unfortunately this is not a place for me. I hope as competition increases quality will also improve. Good luck.
Love having extended family get together here!!! Food is awesome and service is excellent. They can make room for large groups. Always love going here. Also I have been known to stop by for a take out combination plate!
I have missed Thai Ivory since they left Quinpool, but a recent errand to Bedford took me past their location at lunchtime, so I dropped in. I ordered the lunch special, a Pad Thai combo, which was very tasty, delivered in good time, and was a generous portion. Well worth the visit.
Dine in or takeout the suchi is always fabulous (6 or 7 visits). Friendly staff willing to help. Will be visiting again.
A scaled down version of the Thai Ivory Cuisine Restaurants. Both the staff and the food at this restaurant are delightful. The menu has something for everyone, mostly stir fry, noodle soups and Thai salads. My wife and I both had Pad Thai Noodle Stir Fry and it was delicious. There is an eat in section with a number of booths or you can take out. This restaurant is very clean and of course wheelchair accessible.
I have ordered takeout from this restaurant many times. The food is always hot, plentiful and a good value for the most part- especially the combos. Tonight my two teenaged kids and I dined in. The atmosphere is quite nice- clean and bright, but the service was not as good as it could have been. We ordered a couple of combos to share ( one with beef and broccoli, ribs, beef fried rice, egg roll, and the other with sweet and sour chicken, rice and egg roll). We also ordered an extra egg roll and a full order of Chicken Chow Mein. The egg rolls were really hot and very good as were the ribs - so yummy. The rest was pretty good/ basic Chinese food. When I asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio, the waitress told me they had two varieties of wine: red from the box or white from the box- she had no idea what kinds they were and didn't offer to check. I chanced it and ordered the white. Mistake ... barely cold and not very good. Based on the description, I shouldn't have been surprised, I guess. Even if I had wanted to send it back, I wouldn't have been able to, as she didn't come back to check on us for quite some time. I had ordered water for all of us, but only the kids were given glasses, so I was stuck with my wine or nothing. We also told them we would be sharing all of the food (they brought us extra plates) but the waitress did not bring us any serving utensils, so we had to use our forks. I'm sure most of these issues would have been taken care of if someone had come back to check on us, but unfortunately, that didn't happen until we were at least half way through our dinner. I think the total bill (before tip) came to about $48 tax in. The prices were higher in the restaurant than they were online. Would I eat here again? Probably, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to order the wine.
This Thai restaurant is one of our favorites. Having lived in Southeast Asia we really appreciated the authentic flavors and dishes. The staff was very friendly and when the manager/ owner is there he is always checking on everyone to see if they are happy. We always have the nicest service.
Ordered Take out BBQ Pork Pho. Seriously delish! This came in three separate containers. One container held noodles, sliced onions and very tender slices of BBQ pork. Another container was filled with the most delicious broth. And another held bean sprouts, cilantro, small containers of both sriracha, and hoisin sauce, and a lime wedge. All together it was spectacular! Also ordered Kung pow chicken and crab Rangoon’s. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious! We were very happy with our choices. Highly recommend.
So. I only had 2 things. Hot and sour soup, could be a little spicier but the right flavors. Very good. Singapore vermicelli was one of the best I have ever had. Spicy, right amount of curry, good ratio of noodle to meat/onions/bean sprouts. Just really superb. Based on these 2 items. I would say maybe the other dishes are to westernised so the reviews are mixed. But if you go for their noodles and more authentic dishes, you won't be disappointed. I don't think the locals realize what a gem they have. My new go-to when I fly out of Halifax. Very reasonable prices especially in CAD.
Chef Ivan, a gold medal winner, prepared an outstanding meal for us. Each dish was crafted and beautifully presented. The mini taro root nest with sugar snap peas, local scallops, and crispy leek threads was a wonderful sight and a pleasure to eat the entire creation. His specialty Peking duck, wonton taco, kimchi, and shilgochu is so tasty we want to order it each time! We asked Chef beforehand to prepare a meal for us and definitely were delighted. He explained each dish. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back again.
If you order take out beware the time they give you is not exact. I don't know how many times I've ordered and they told me it was going to be 30 mins but I have yet to go pick up and it's ready. We waited almost a full 45 minutes over and above the time they told us. Needless to say my boyfriend was livid as he was the one that picked it up. We normally order on a saturday night and I thought it was because they were busy but a few times I went, there was not that many customers there. If it wasn't for the taste, I wouldn't go as often, but the food really speaks for iteself. May Garden does not compare to this place at all!
I don't get why May Garden set up a banquet place, filled it with large chandeliers and big screen TVs and turned down the temperature. Really? Do you think your customers like freezing while having some loud American news channel reverberating in their ears while trying to have a nice conversation? For the love of Pete! Turn up the heat and put on some quiet music channel to help you patrons stay warm and feel like they are having an enjoyable time! The food is not bad.... Hit and miss depending on your tastes.
Had a delicious bento lunch at Tako. The tempura was light and crispy. The teriyaki was the right mix of sweet & salty and the maki rolls were plentiful.I found the serving generous. We also shared a mango roll. It's in the Bayer's Lake area and easy to find.
Ordered egg rolls, spring rolls, soo gai chicken, and ginger beef with extra sauce. All dishes were piping hot, generous portion sizes, and very fresh and tasty. It should be noted that we ordered the same dishes as take out in June 2021 and on that occasion, the food was poor quality, lacked a sufficient quantity of sauce, and tasted reheated. Very disappointing. Maybe due to Covid or a different chef. We were very pleased that we gave Canton Gardens a second chance and went back in September 2021. This time the meals exceeded our expectations. Excellent Canadian-Chinese style food. We will be back again!
Great service and great food. We enjoyed the Spicy Pork and Pad Thai Chicken . . . both were served piping hot. Everything had great flavor. I thought the meals were very reasonably priced. I would definitely try again when I am in Dartmouth.
We have eaten at this place a couple of times. At first it was okay, as time went on, we noticed that our food took so long to arrive despite having only a few tables occupied. We had to cancel the food that we ordered because we lost our appetite from drinking just pop and 2 selections from the menu. Decided not to come back again. The waiting time for your order to arrive is just too long. There are other better buffets that bring ALL you have ordered in time.
