Visited there with my boyfriend for his birthday, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The staff were awesome! Polite and welcoming. My boyfriend wanted to substitute something else for the appetizer of the tasting menu because he doesn’t like anchovies, and they agreed to do so without any additional fees. Do try the broccoli flan!!! It is to DIE FOR! I love the texture, the flavor, and how it melts in your mouth. The rabbit stew was another great choice. I haven’t tried rabbit for years and really forgot how tender it could be. Everything was perfect, the service, the environment, even the price. Strongly recommend it to any couples who would like a romantic dinner.

It was a really good change after all the pizza and pasta. We had a great dinner. They serve plenty of vegetarian and even vegan dishes, really nice. The spice is adopted to the typical European mouth but you can order hot. Portions are big for the price in Florence you most of the time get less food. The quality was also awesome. Our waitress Komac was really patient with us and polite, she gave us some extra stuff and was over all a great waitress, really appreciated the service and loved having our dinner at Royal India

Let’s start by saying I’ve been coming here since 2018 when I first arrived in Florence from the United States to start college. My first birthday dinner was here and from then on I’ve been back many times. The food is consistently fantastic but more importantly the atmosphere and staff are the nicest restaurant owners ever. Even on busy nights the wait is never that long, you’d be greeted with more snack delights for the wait. It’s one of the few places where I feel they take care of the people who always come back with a smile, offering free things because you there’s a mutual respect for one another. You’re offering me high quality nourishment and that’s a big deal. My favorite order is the curry mango chicken!! With lemon rice and some butter naan. The tikka masala is great as well. If you want mild they have it, if you want it really spicy they have that also lol!!!🥵 It’s always been a pleasure to visit on birthdays, get together, meetings with people because the atmosphere is so lively and very well decorated inside. Not a blank space on the wall. Thank you all for always making me feel welcome and filling my stomach completely🍷❤️

It was an awesome experience at Taj after having pizza & pasta I was craving for Indian food so I found this hidden gem nearby my hotel. Food was delicious the flavour of food reminded me of authentic Indian cuisine that we can only find in India so you can call this place as “mini India in Florence” and the staff was very warm, welcoming and made all the efforts to make us comfortable. I recommend this place to anyone in search of real taste of India. Reasonable prices. Will visit again as soon as possible. Highly recommended. Special thanks to Manisha and navil for their kindness 😘😘

Outstanding service and great food! Staff was warm and welcoming. Family owned. Food came out almost instantly and very good attention to detail. I believe it was the owner who came to our table, saw that our food had excess oil, and on his own took it back and got us a new one. The saying on the wall of the restaurant says, “Atithi devo bhava,” which means guests are like God. Crown of India and its staff definitely live up to that saying. If you’re craving Indian food in Florence, GO HERE!

I so recommend this place to everyone! It was full with locals which is always a +. The service was great, I loved the rock music playing quietly in the background and most of all I loved the food. We had pizza and daily pasta dish + dessert. All three dishes were delicious, and this is coming from someone who regulary goes to Naples just for the pizza - couldn’t find any fault with the one we ate here. 10/10!

We had been traveling Italy for three weeks, and just decided to stop here for lunch because there was a tiny open table on the sidewalk. My goodness! This was the best sandwich (Porchetta and Avocado on a baguette) that we had the whole time we were there. The beer was ice cold, which generally isn't the case in Italy. Highly recommend this stop.

The pizza was served hot, and the restaurant had a delicious spicy oil to complement the flavor. They also had a very good set of delicious sandwiches with housemade bread prepared in the oven. I only tasted the banoffee pie from the dessert menu, but it was really good. A special thanks to the waiter named Gabriel, who attended me with great attention and respect! I'll definitely come back when possible.

Sensational bistecca and a delightful house Chianti to pair with it. Great ambiance and service - the water was nice and cold. House Chianti was a well-priced pairing with the steak, of which was served rare, but can be further cooked on the tray to one’s desired doneness. The servers, Noemi and Cristina, did an excellent job, spoke great English, and made our meal feel special. Easy to get to on foot, would eat here again.

We were recently in Florence to attend a wedding. After a series of unplanned-for rearrangements of where everyone was staying, we found ourselves booked into the truly delightful Il Guelfo Bianco for which Il Desco Bistrot is the house restaurant. Our rental mishap was actually a very lucky turn of events. We loved our hotel, and we loved Il Desco Bistrot SO much that we ate there every night that we could. The ambience is unpretentious, fresh and light. Filippo who handles the front of the house is personable and able to give wonderful recommendations. He was happy to serve us dinner or to serve us a lemoncello or grappa digestif when we popped in after a day of wedding events. The wine selection is wonderful, and Chef is really a master. Everything we ate there (everything!) we enjoyed. One of my favorites was the vegetarian lasagna which was light (so so light) and flavorful. We took a shine to their Pappa Al Pomodoro and ordered it pretty much daily. If I didn’t order it, Filippo would give me a spoon as he KNEW that I was going to dig into my husband’s order. The dining room is very light and attractive. Chef works at his station assembling dishes and beautiful trays of charcuterie while you dine. The restaurant is not large, and I would definitely recommend reservations. The ingredients used in the restaurant are produced at the restaurant’s farm outside of Florence; and while meat is on the menu (delicious according to my husband), the restaurant is definitely vegetarian friendly. We directed some friends to Il Desco Bistro, and they said it was their best meal in Florence. We agree.

We were wandering around Florence on a Saturday night trying to find dinner without a reservation and they were gracious enough to set up a table for us. This random place had strangely high reviews so we were willing to give it a chance, even though from the outside it looked like nothing special. It ended up being the best place we ate across 18 days in Italy, and it wasn't even close. We still talk about the truffle egg dish and wonder how they could turn a few simple ingredients into something so special. As the single bad review here mentions, the service wasn't particularly fast, but it was obvious that the one server and small kitchen were really busy and we were just happy that they squeezed us in. This place is serving dishes that you'd expect at a Michelin-star restaurant with a small staff in a simple and unpretentious location and reasonable price. You could imagine Anthony Bourdain filming a segment here - this is a restaurant that just cares about its food. Lots of great options here for vegetarians too, which is not an easy find in Italy. After our dinner we thanked the owner and talked with him for 20 minutes about punk music and the Hebrew bible. The next time we're in Italy we don't have a choice - we have to go to Florence again just to come back to our new favorite restaurant.

In my opinion, Universo Vegano is the most underrated restaurant we had a meal during our trip to Rome/Florence. The place offers salads, pasta and a couple of other options (all vegan). The restaurant does not offer service (you have to order at the counter). However, for this same reason, it ends up being more cost-friendly. The staff can have some difficulty speaking English but it is very kind anyway. The restaurant is located a few minutes from the Duomo, but it is completely worth it!

It's hard to explain how great Fake Firenze is, I'll try here but it's one of those places where you don't go just for the food and drinks, but also for the architecture, the mood, the people. Food side the owners are using high quality local products as much as possible. The offer is not overly complex, but is very refined. Menu is changed often and great preparation goes into the taste as well as the look of it. Prepare to be offered dishes that are out of the ordinary! Food is listed with 3 or 4 "suggested drink" in order to experience both at their best. Drink side you can have the run of the mill liquors, wines and cocktails, but here come two other features of Fake: on one side is the creation of a vast array of unique cocktails, breaking the monotony and opening for some new experiences. On the other side there is an extensive list of special liquors, beers and wines. if you are into trying something unique, Fake is a must stop. Last but not least, the whole place has been decorated by a famous street artist, the interiors are really special, like no other in Florence. In short, Fake is a great place for an aperitif, for a cozy dinner, to experience new beers and wines or just to eat a dessert in the afternoon chilling out. Absolutely recommended!

Excellent vegetarian restaurant located in a bookshop in the centre of Florence close to the river Arno..They have a good number of vegan options. It is not very easy to find; look for the foliage around the door and possibly twinkly lights on. There is no menu displayed outside. We ate there twice in the evening during our visit to Florence and particularly liked their ‘piatti unico’ deal where, for €18, you can choose a salad, a pasta dish and a special, and you receive a portion of each of these on one plate. We found this much more satisfactory than ordering separate dishes which came in quite large portions and were more expensive. It’s essential to book as they are very busy. I found they had some problems with the booking system on the website, but they have a Facebook page so I sent a message through that and they replied quickly. At lunchtime they have a counter with paninis, juice, smoothies and a few cakes and desserts where you can eat without booking. We found this to be the ideal lunch stop for us. Highly recommended.

My friend and I came across this restaurant when we walked past it one evening and we thought the menu looked great so we decided to give it a try. Matteo, one of the lovely waiters who served us, was absolutely excellent, he explained every dish and the wines for us, we tried several incredible appetisers and a lovely dessert wine. The incredible staff, Matteo in particular, contributed to us having a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s in Florence, very central location, chic and clean good prices for the incredible quality of the food and service. I will be back!

One of those cases where you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. This is a small local spot in Florence. The restaurant doesn’t look that great from the outside, but trust me, indoors what awaits you is the best lasagna your Euro can buy. It is homemade with love in a way that will make your toes curl when you take that first bite. I’ve had lasagna in other places in Italy but they never live up to here. It’s an experience you won’t forget, honestly. What tips it over the edge is also the tiramisu that is so good it will spoil any other tiramisu for you. The best part is that this place is relatively cheap, too! The owner is also a sweetheart. Definitely can’t wait to come back one day.

I am currently studying abroad in Florence and I have eaten many great sandwiches in Florence but Pino’s is one of the best, if not the best, that I have ever had. Budget friendly and lots of options (catered to my nut allergy). My sandwich was amazing and made with super fresh ingredients… but it was Pino and the staff that made my experience unforgettable. I walked in and was instantly greeted with smiles and warmth from Nirvan and Martina. The Pino’s staff made me feel like I was at home in their shop, and that feeling is hard to come by when you are thousands of miles from home. Anyone visiting Florence/studying abroad MUST eat here!!!

My husband and I recently got married in the summer in Lake Como and Haveli were the caterers for the wedding day. I can honestly say they were outstanding - they catered for the whole day which included traditional Indian breakfast / lunch and dinner at the reception. My husband and I first met Giotti and Rubel back in May when we travelled from the UK to Florence for our food tasting - Giotti allowed us to taste a numerous amount of dishes and worked with us on perfecting which dishes we required for our big day. This is when we truly realised how incredle the food was going to be for our special day. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and I would reccomend going if you are ever in Florence and looking for an Indian restaurant! I would like to say a massive thank you to Giotti and Rubel, all guests couldn't stop complimenting how amazing / nice the food was throughout the whole of the wedding day, many guests said it was the best Indian food they had ever tasted! If we come back to Florence we will definitely come visit Haveli again!

The best food 1000%. Everything on here is delicious. I highly recommend making reservations otherwise you will have to wait a bit. We had appetizers, mains, desserts, sides, everything. The cocktails are great too! It is a bit more on the expensive side but it’s all really delicious food. We were in Italy for a month and overall would say this is our favorite restaurant. There are a lot of appetizers and I would recommend the Zaza appetizer to get a little bit of everything. The mojito and strawberry cocktails are delicious. The truffle gnocchi is SO soft and just melts in your mouth. I’ve had gnocchi many times and no place does it better than this! The Florentine Steak is delicious. It’s alot of food and would recommend cooking it the way it’s traditionally made. For desserts, the cheese cake, the custard, and the flan/ panna cotta caramelized cake are the Holy Trinity. We ate here 3 nights in a row cause it was that good. Service is good too, im not sure how they can be so quick when the restaurant is huge.

You usually have to go to a Michelin starred restaurant to get this creative at a much higher price. The chef and Besi have created a menu and wine list that combines artistry, historical reference and flavors that surpass even the most expensive restaurants in Firenze We stopped by without reservations and Besi, the owner allowed us a table on a busy night. Our server Dora was very helpful. But what amazed us was the food. Very creative twists on standard Tuscan fare. Highly recommend. Must not be missed!

Maybe it was because we like Mediterranean food, maybe it was the delicious smell/flavors surrounding us and the view how they made your wrap fresh in the oven... maybe it was their smile and the little chat we had, that made us feel home. I will go back before the end of our vacation here. And in my opinion: Fair price for filling your belly with good healthy food.

The place offers a set menu with a few vegetarian/vegan options. Some ingredients (e.g. cheese) can be changed to its vegan equivalent for a small fee. Really enjoyable experience at Essenziale on a cold, rainy Sunday night in December. Brilliant value for a tasting menu (with choices for each of the four courses) at €65 per head. Service was relaxed but friendly and the pace of the courses was perfect. The food is so interesting, to the point of even being challenging at times, but shows a really modern twist on Tuscan cuisine. All the courses were beautifully presented and the staff were able to recommend great wine pairings for each course from a ‘by the glass’ list that changes every week. Everything tasted delicious and overall would highly recommend!

In my Arizona hometown there is a wonderful chef (Chris Bianco) who has made a valiant attempt to bring Italian cuisine to a place half a world away. If he came to dine here, I know he would cry...the food is THAT GOOD. It's about as good as the foods he makes, but if I had the resources to do so, I'd buy him a ticket and send him to Santarpia with my next heartbeat. The food, ambiance, service, food, waitstaff, food, appetizers, pizza, art, food, and the food here...oh my goodness. Everything is like the best prayer you ever prayed and had answered. How in the world can I describe what it feels like to eat such good food that you always want to have it on your palate, that you NEVER want to leave, that you always want to have its molecules in your DNA? OK, I know this is over the top, but Italy itself just might be heaven on Earth. Thank you.
