I hosted a birthday dinner here for my sister and her family who had travelled from their home in York to visit me . Had a fabulous evening with the food, service and ambience being absolutely first class. The restaurant was extremely busy even at 7 pm in the evening, but there was no delay in seating our party and we were allowed as much time as we needed to peruse the wonderful food and drinks menus. The food was so tasty and beautifully cooked. Every member of the team who served us was very happy, smiling and chatty, and clearly took great pleasure in making us feel very welcome guests. I am more than happy to recommend The Bauhinia to all my friends and acquaintances for a beautiful meal in very attractive surroundings.
Absolutely amazing service from Mick and Lisha today 9.3.23, at The Milehouse. From the second I booked and said it was a 30th birthday surprise so they treated us with some of the best customer service iv ever received. From taking photos, singing happy birthday and a candle to the safe journey home and thanks for coming..... the setting is beautiful and the food is amazing! Lunch menu was £20 for 3 courses and they were decent sized portion considering the offer (usually some places are bit tight lol). Would highly recommend, hardly any wait on drinks or food , went around 12.30 pm few other tables in and all tables had the same service. Will definitely be back all 5 of us said that!!
I and the better half decided that once a month we are going to go out for a Curry and I got to choose where we went, i have walked past and also driven past Monsoon many times so i decided to see how the food was and glad i did, they did not disappoint on the delivery of food. I booked my table online as i had read that its best at times to book and i can understand and see why they must get booked up at peak times. We entered the venue and waited to be sat and offered seats in the window which was great, sadly we had to wait for a little while about 10 mins or so until someone come over and asked us if we would like some drinks. Then we had to wait a little while again until we got the menus, i can only presume they were short on staff but that's the hospitality industry i think at the moment, but it did not dampen our experience. We ordered starters and the chutney dips are lovely one of them had a real kick which was unexpected but nice and a great start to the meal. The food come just after we had finished the starters and wow just wow was it worth the wait. presentation 10/10, taste 10/10 we both had a Chicken Korma (yes i know not for everyone but its what we like) and we had Pilau and Boiled Rice and the food was superb, cooked to perfection the chicken was lovely soft and tender and just fell apart the sauce was creamy and not too thick just how we like it to be. The naan breads were smaller than i had expected so next time i would order extra but even they were cooked superbly with a little char on them but soft and so nice. Overall the venue was very nice and relaxed atmosphere, Staff were superb and polite and great with us, and the food, well best we have had locally and I'm sure we will be coming back at some point in the coming months. Thanks for a fantastic night guys.
The answer to our title is sadly lacking but that does not refer to this bijou restaurant! Some restaurants are set in superb places and serve grotty food, this one the opposite is just off the A34 from Manchester to Southampton. We enter the door to warmth and are seated at a draft free table, lighting a little dark. After a couple of minutes we were asked what we’d like to drink, my wife said gin and bitter lemon, I asked ‘do you do a glass of Champagne?’ No, sir was the reply. ‘Do you do a half bottle of Champagne?’ Yes, sir was the reply and a score of 10/10, reaction from wife ‘Forget the the gin, I’ll share’. Reading the menu it became obvious that this was a Steak place, so we ordered fillet accordingly after starters, quality was outstanding throughout all courses. It’s always a risk ordering steak but this was soft and tender, chef knows how! I allow £35 for a half bottle of Champagne which would get a score of 2/10, this one came in at £21 which get full marks. Come and try this little place
First time I’ve been to this restaurant tonight and it won’t be the last ! Food was really tasty we had the all you can eat buffet and we found it really reasonably priced. The staff were outstanding so friendly helpful and just lovely they were so sweet with my grandson and even gave him his own special Toy Story plate to eat his dinner from. Honestly if I could give the staff more than five stars I would they truly deserve it
We decided to try this little cafe for breakfast. Thankfully they substituted items that weren't gluten free rather than just serve a half empty plate as some places do. The memorabilia is a real treat causing many customers to reminisce. Customers were a real mix of young and older people. The young woman serving was pleasant and helpful. We queried our bill as they didn't seem to have charged us enough. She pointed out that our breakfast included drinks with just a £1 extra cost as I had an American. What a treat we will definitely return.
We ate here for the first time. It won't be our last visit. The food was superb. A separate vegan menu was available with delicious dishes listed. So refreshing not to be offered the unimaginative vegan options most restaurants roll out. We enjoyed the cocktails and the wine we chose too. The waitresses were all attentive but not intrusive, and very knowledgable and friendly. The chef even came round the restaurant to see everyone at the end of the evening. We can't fault this little gem!
We booked a Christmas Day lunch at a cost of £100 each and paid well in advance. A lot of money but we do understand that staff need to be paid a lot more to work on Christmas Day, no problem. The meal and service itself were lovely and we were all happy with it. All good so far. We had a small number of drinks and one of us got the bill to pay. He paid it without checking but we were shocked when he told us how much he had paid for the drinks and said surely that can’t be right. Upon checking we later found that a 7.5 per cent service charged had been added to our £600 bill for the meal. That’s £45 for a tip in effect. I am familiar with the fact that Paragon add this to the bill when dining there normally and that’s reasonable when paying the normal prices for a meal, but when we have already paid a huge premium price of £100 each to cover the extra service charges for Christmas Day I think this is unfair and excessive. I checked the menu and if we have eaten the same meal the day before, the meal I ate would have cost approximately £40 so what did i pay the extra £60 for if not for the extra cost of the service that day? I think the pub group should review this policy and either make this very clear beforehand when people book or include their 7.5 % service charge within the headline price next year as I doubt many people would have expected to pay more money for their meal on top of the very high price that they had already paid.
We visit the Ostler Restaurant regularly as we love it there. The Staff are always polite to us & cater for all our fussy requirements! The food is really great.. We have never had a poor meal. I would recommend the fillet steaks- they are the best steaks around our local area (many friends & family have said this over the years). The bar menu is great for lunches & also as a light evening meal too. Today we had omelette, fries & salad for our lunch which we really enjoyed! Also, Sunday lunch is very reasonably priced and tastes delicious. Our 99yr old Uncle who has sadly passed away recently, loved his Friday evenings at the Borough arms. He was always made to feel most welcome & all of the staff really made a fuss of him which he always enjoyed! He always loved the liver & onions down to the cheesy oatcakes. Thank you for looking after us over the years! Much appreciated!
Went to the shed last night first time we have been and can definitely say that it will not be the last young man dressed smartly really knew his stuff. sat us down was super friendly laughed and joked with us we were unsure about some things he recommended great dished had the salmon was cooked perfectly. red haired lady also super helpful and nice covid restrictions were spot on tables wiped and sanitised after each person great atmosphere amazing drinks selection highly recommend coming here
This place has beautiful decor which really makes you feel you are burrowed down the rabbit hole. Our server Meg was so attentive and friendly from start to finish. She advised my sister and I on how to treat our first (but certainly not last) afternoon tea here. Everything we ate was delicious and freshly homemade. When I mentioned I was vegetarian Meg offered two more tasty sandwich filling options which did not disappoint. I absolutely loved it all and would highly recommend to anyone local or visiting Stoke. A special thank you to Meg who made my time with my mum and sister so memorable. She deserves her very own afternoon tea now!
Came here on a Wednesday night thinking it would be quiet with it being mid week. We were wrong. Place was full and had a buzzing atmosphere. We realised why it was so busy as they do a 4 course buffet for £16.95pp! The food was so tasty and fresh, the dishes even came on a stove to keep it hot until it got to the table - amazing. Staff were very friendly, the decor was nice and nicely dressed tables and napkins. Will definitely be coming back!
Myself and my mum went for Lunch on 29/10/21 and I must say it was perfect. We ordered off the lunch menu, which was 2 courses for £11.99 and it was such good value for money. The focaccia was huge but amazing. We waited a while for our starters, but all the waiters were so accommodating and offered us 2 free drinks and free chips to compensate. This was more than enough for us. Brilliant price and great value for money. Was so amazing we had to give a tip! It’s a must.
Incredible sandwiches, and mahoosive! Might share a Slamwich next time and tuck into a few more of the sides. Really nice atmosphere, great food though a little slow, order taken quite promptly but waited 40mins for food to arrive but it was worth the wait especially as it’s all cooked fresh and to order. Looking forward to a return visit.
This place, seriously, it was one of our favourite go-to’s for good food and premium beers/gins after a tough day at work. We made a visit at least 3-4 times a month. However, we’re going to give it a miss in the future. Unfortunately it’s all down to the customer service, since literally all the staff members have now changed (apart from the management staff). Sure, change is generally seen as a good thing, but when you receive and challenge the half cooked food you’re given and you’re met with a borderline argument from the staff. Well, it seriously takes away from the friendly atmosphere and the reassurance that you’re well looked after, not excluding the food itself. This, and the poorly organised, disjointed drinks and food ordering process (waiting for someone to come and actually take your order) and the “would you like to leave a tip” on the card machine by default when paying the bill… it takes the biscuit, and it’s all a bit lacking. The attention to detail has complete disappeared. Shame, really…
Our favourite Indian Buffet in Stoke. Great value for money, pay one fixed price and eat as much as you like with as many soft drinks included as you like too. Great selection of sauces, starters and mains. Curries are really full of flavour which you don't always get with buffet style. Lovely friendly staff. Shame the pack of drunken gobby men that were in had to ruin it for all even taking the mick out of our Son whilst he was at the table alone, who being autistic didnt tell us till after we left. So if you were one of the idiots reading this, be very ashamed of yourselves. Not fare on the staff when they have to put up with the likes of these! I would suggest you book in advance as last night on a Friday it got really busy really quickly. If you have not bin,try it, you will not be dissapointed ❤️ We will be back very soon.
Absolutely beautiful food and fantastic staff and owners! When we arrived we were the only family in there having food, which we thought was strange for a Saturday afternoon. It turned out that multiple staff has not turned in but the pub had still opened for food just to honour our booking. From the outset, nothing was too much trouble. Becky, our waitress was attentive, efficient and always there if we needed any little thing. Karen the owner and also our amazing chef was also really professional but very warm and nothing was too much trouble. It’s very easy to see how much pride and care they take in both food and service which reflected 100% in our experience. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and child friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! It was all evidently home made and quality sourced ; our braised beef, mushrooms and onions literally melted in your mouth and the chips were to die for! My son said they were the champion of chunky chips and asked me why I can’t cook chips like this. This pub is an absolute hidden treasure and very reasonably priced for the quality of food and fantastic portion sizes. We will definitely be making many a return visit from now on. Thank you Karen and Becky for making our lunch so enjoyable!
This was our second visit to Moohans, excellent both times. Food is fresh and plentiful, service is great by the family boys working there, they are all so polite and welcoming. The chef came out of the kitchen and asked each table if they were happy with the food. Very highly recommended…you’re doing a great job 😊
Well we had a table booked and upon arrival our table was not quite ready so we were asked to have a drink at the bar whilst we waited. After getting a drink in the noisy and quite busy bar area I was not too sure how the evening was going to go. I need t not have worried. We were told that Josh would be looking after us. Josh came a long and introduced himself and we were able to order our starters whilst we still decided on our mains. When it came to ordering our mains, Josh was very knowledgeable about the menu items. As the evening progressed Josh looked after our every need and when one of the side dishes did not appear, it was quickly rectified. Whilst we were looked after by Josh, the rest of the staff we encountered were equally pleasant, providing a very nice overall service. When a glass fell off a tray being returned to the kitchen and was being cleaned up, the member of staff dealing with it was genuinely concerned that we had not been hurt by any of the bits of glass that reached the vicinity of our table. The food itself was lovely and whilst not huge portions they were satisfying and nobody left hungry. The only downside tot he evening was the volume of noise in the restaurant, which was mainly the noise generated by other diners as much as the 'background' music. Whilst the cost of the evening was high I felt the quality and overall experience was worth what we paid. A big thanks to ALL the staff at the Orange Tree and especially to Josh for a great job done.
Haven’t visited for a while due to being disappointed previously, I have to say that Thai food wouldn’t be my last meal if I was on death row, you get the point, however it would be my wife’s, she absolutely adores this type of food. Visited last night on a Thursday and order several meals as we like to dip in to varied cuisine, starters spare ribs & Thai fish cakes, the ribs were okay crispy and salty but bland to be honest, the fish cakes, where do I start… these were disgusting, two mouthful and we had to spit them out, it was like eating rubbery tofu, not pleasant, when asked by a male server, think he was the owner he smiled and said they were authentic, as mentioned I’m not a connoisseur on this type of food but I would like to think my wife had a better palette than me and she said they were dreadful. The rest of the food was okay, tiger beef nice. Overall, for £57 for the two of us with one soft drink each I think your money could be better spent elsewhere. Finally out of courtesy my wife mentioned prior to paying the bill the fish cake wasn’t pleasant and he responded by saying that no one else had complained. So I guess for the sake of £5.70 on the fish cake and an attitude to boot they won’t be seeing us again. Great expectations let down by mediocre food, the venue looks nice, what do they say style of substance.
We visited the Masons early evening and enjoyed our meals which were excellent, followed by gorgeous puddings, wanting to go for seconds as too many delicious options to choose from, even though they have a reduced menu and 15 more selections will be added in the coming weeks as like most are struggling to get supplies, we felt there was lots of choice, many options for vegans and vegetarians. Lovely and clean and nicely decorated. Would recommend. Definitely need to book for Sunday lunch as this is very popular. Thanks again for a great meal.
We were staying at the premier in next door so decided to have our evening meal here. There were four of us eating and three of the four items were unavailable and it was only 6pm, when it eventually arrived the food wasn't great for evening meal, small small portions for the prices paid and not that warm. The staff were friendly and attentive and we felt quite sorry for them really.
Wow, we had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening, there was a great atmosphere and nice music playing in the background. All of the staff are friendly and attentive. We had a lovely pizza and side salad and spaghetti meatballs, the food was lovely and hot, fresh and tasty. The restaurant is only a couple of minutes away from the local theatre, and if you let them know you are going they will accommodate you and book you in early. It was a busy evening and the restaurant was full, sanitiser available on each table, and the restaurant is nice and clean and decorated in an Italian style. Well worth going. If there is one small thing that could be improved, it would be to fix the door, and make it a soft close door as when people where entering and leaving the door does bang loudly, which does get a little annoying when you engaging in conversation and trying to listen to others. This restaurant is most definitely worth a visit, can,t wait to return again soon.
OMG cant believe the quality of this curry house, the staff are friendly and attentive, the prices are reasonable, the quality of the food is top notch. The garlic naan is addictive and we had to have two. The curries can be ordered at the strength you want, and you can ask for something that isn't on the menu and they will make it for you. Worth a visit and im sure you will go back again and again. We had a wonderful evening.
Waited over an hour for food, the restaurant didn’t seem that busy really, the poor waitress was absolutely rushed off her feet but she was still really helpful and polite. When the food came it was average, I wouldn’t have minded waiting 25-30 minutes for that food but it really wasn’t worth an hour wait. We popped in for a quick meal after not visiting for many years, it will be a while before we are back again. Very disappointed but not completely awful.
We happened to drive by and decided to stop for lunch. The staff were very warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in up until we left and picked out a table for us that had room for our pram. We both had sandwiches which were see each with chips, salad and coleslaw for under £10 each which was great value as they were delicious and good quality. It’s a shame we don’t live closer as we’d be regulars but if we are in the area again we’ll be sure to visit!
This was our first visit since it reopened after refurbishment. The bar was nicely decorated, but with televisions all round showing IPL cricket when we were there. We ordered food and drinks at the bar: fish and chips, scampi and chips, Hunter’s chicken. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Including half a pint of Coors, a still mineral water and an apple juice, the bill was £37.
There’s not many times you can say that things are getting better but they are here. Been twice this week, evening and lunchtime, and enjoyed both immensely. Service quick, food hot and tasty an enjoyable experience all around. Staff are pleasant and efficient. Will put this my number 1 eatery locally. Where can you get a triple layer fish finger sandwich, chips and a large Pepsi for under £6 ( and that includes the latest price increase).
Jalfrezi knows what they are doing. The food was Top Notch. I have been eating curry's since 1972. Will recommend to all my friends. It is well worth it.. The staff were prompt and polite, couldn't do enough for us. Will be going back regularly.

Outstanding food at great value. Called for lunch today and had 3 small plates for £15.95 which was an amazing price for the quality and quantity of food we received. Looking forward to trying out the other branches very soon!
