We often try to dine here when passing through Orangeville. Make reservations at least 2 days ahead; lots of people know this place has superb food. This time we had their ravioli, crab cakes an house salad with goat cheese, pecans, blueberries. All delicious. Recipes are always innovative, with lots of sauce. Plenty of reasonably priced wines and local craft beer. It is always crowded and noisy, so be prepared for that (i.e...not a romantic atmosphere).
We drove by Orangeville on the way to somewhere else many times, and decided to go for lunch today for no reason whatsoever, we found a review of another restaurant that sounded pretty good, and headed out, after parking the car, while walking to the other restaurant, we walked by Bluebird, and the menu has more options so we decided to just pop in, sure enough, it was very full but we manage to get two seats at the bar. The service was genuine, and the food was great, both in terms of quality and portion, we were already 80% full after appetizers. The atmosphere was excellent, and we have even been to the main dining room yet, we will go back very soon Another interesting thing was we were sitting right by the entrance, and there was an endless stream of people coming in to buy gift cards, and I think it was the owner that knew half the people that came in by name
First time here and we will be back. Atmosphere has a comfortable elegance with lots of natural light. A side patio is also available. We chose two appetizers. The mushrooms on a thickly sliced baguette were delicious and smothered in a wonderful Marney Sauce. The Caesar Salad was a delightful surprise with it’s creamy textured dressing and an added bit of heat. In addition there were bits Napa cabbage tucked in which added extra crunch and nutrition. We were sharing so they served it in two bowls. This is a must try if you are looking for a Caesar salad that’s delicious and updated to scrumptious! Both mains were served piping hot, beautifully plated and ample portions. Beef bourguignon was tender in a luscious sauce with a variety of grilled/roasted vegetables. As much as I enjoyed the perfectly roasted potatoes in this dish, I couldn’t help but wonder how this dish would be served on a bed of mashed potatoes to soak up all the deliciousness! The Duck breast was sumptuous with celery root purée, vegetables and intensely flavourful au jus. We don’t usually have dessert but sometimes take one home if there is something different. Bingo - Rustik Beer Pie. A wonderful crumb crust with a dark chocolate/dark beer filling topped with toasted marshmallow ( I think). It was like eating a S’mor but with the best chocolate ever! Very reasonably priced for this calibre of dining. Service was excellent! As I said, we will be back as we hear other dishes are must try also.
We were visiting family in Orangeville and wanted to show our thinks for their hospitality by treating them to dinner. Everyone was a fan of East Indian cuisine, so our cousin recommended Coriander kitchen. We laced an order for take-out as there was no provision for dining in due to covid restrictions. The order was ready in 45 minutes. I entered the restaurant for my pickup and was immediately treated to a mouth-watering aroma. The four gentlemen in the kitchen and at the order table were going full tilt to keep up with the orders. Covid restrictions apparently did not slow anything down for this business. Five minutes after I arrived, I left laden with two bags of food containers. Everyone at home was moaning with appreciation for all the delicious food. We traveled five hours to visit our relatives. I would do it again just for another meal from this establishment!
We visited here 2 times in March. Once for snacks after a production at Theatre Orangeville and the other time we had dinner before a show. Each time it was with a group of 8 people and all were pleased with their food choices. The onion rings were the hit each time. The menu had lots of choices and all items were nicely prepared and presented. We would certainly go back.
My husband and I took a getaway in the area and wanted lunch before arriving at our destination. We decided upon this pub and we are very glad we did. There were several customers already having lunch and there were reserved signs on a few other tables. We were lucky to get a booth. The soup of the day was a fish and corn chowder and it was absolutely delicious. We also split the house salad and it had heirloom beets and goat cheese. It was also delicious. All-in-all, this was a lovely lunch and we will pop by again if we find ourselves in that neck of the woods again.
First time at Pia’s but won’t be the last. The place is narrow and long with a wonderful spot for two sit in the front window overlooking Broadway. We were there for lunch and they have a varied menu. Pia’s does not serve dinner. Not sure about breakfast. I ordered 1/2 a beef sandwich on crusty bread which was quite good. Our server said their sandwiches were quite large hence the reason for ordering half. Truthfully the 1/2 portion was ample and I would never have eaten a full one. So I definitely appreciated her guidance. My girlfriend had the full size beet & goat cheese salad. The presentation was unique in how the beets were cut and the radishes were served sliced the size of matches. She orders beet salad frequently however this was the best she had had. The staff were friendly and helpful. The menu had numerous options depending on just how hungry you are at the moment. There are daily specials. There were a lot of take out orders. It was not wheel chair accessible. We would definitely go back again.
Great restaurant. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, this was not our first visit here and definitely won't be the last. Right on lower Broadway, just off Hwy. 10. Very accessible, with ample parking close to the entrance. From the first interaction, once inside the door, to leaving after eating, the experience is most pleasant. Staff is very helpful, friendly and engaged. Service is very attentive. Servings are very generous. The food is well-prepared and the wait is minimal. The menus, depending on time of day, offer many options. The breakfast menu runs until 3:00 p.m. Most accommodating. All menus offer reasonable pricing. Will probably visit here on our next trip to Orangeville.
This vibrant family business is just off the main street. Staff is super friendly snd the food is always fresh and delicious. Thai and Filipino dishes are our favourites- lots of choices for gluten free and vegan but their traditional meat snd seafood dishes are also really good. Take out or sit in with a glass of wine or beer. A wonderful dinner out with great prices and an excellent menu.
We get food from Curry Mantra regularly. It is always very good, portions are generous and it is always ready on time when we pick it up (help the restaurant and pick it up instread of using a delivery service) TUpjeet and his team are very kind and generous to the community and have helped hundreds of people during the pandemic. But most, the food is just so darn good!
I ordered the Sunday special for my husband's birthday. The owner was as always very kind and gave us what I ordered and said that I could also have a desert on the house. I chose some Rhubarb cake and my husband really liked it. The Fish and Chips with Coleslaw were excellent as always and the price on Sunday is better than during the week. Thanks again for making my husband's birthday a bit more special. H & B
Having an invalid husband, I have relied for few years on takeout meals. With the recent change in ownership, I was concerned about the change. I am so excited to impart that, although the decor has changed, very nicely I may add, the Service and Quality of food has not. From the moment I telephone my order, to walking in the door of Townline Fish and Chips, getting home and eating a still hot meal, both Hubby and I are very satisfied with the taste of our Fish ‘n Chips, also the Onion Rings and/or sometimes Salad. My friends advise they enjoy dining in the Restaurant. So if you wish a divine meal do not overlook Townline Fish and Chips.🌹
Wonderful polite lady that serves the authentic food.... And very good prices.... Love the doubles and jerk chicken with the killer pepper sauce.
After a hike on the island, friends and I had an early dinner here. There were many of us in the group but our server was so patient and polite taking our orders. I had the chicken burger (beautifully crisp), a salad and the French onion soup. It was a good meal, indeed.
During COVID, Son of a Chef changed hands. The new owners kept the name but upped the game when it comes to delicious bakery items. Always so welcoming, the most outgoing and friendly staff make you smile every time and that is before you have placed your order. From the homemade breakfast and lunch items to their fully stocked bakery items you won't leave disappointed. As an added bonus, if you go on Saturday mornings are you not only greeted with the most delicious bakery smells but the owner, from a family recipe makes, the most incredible homemade Portuguese donuts. Don't let the size fool you-they are light and fluffy and you won't be able to stop eating them. Run don't walk though as these are very popular and don't last long. The best Saturday morning treat in town!
All the food is cooked by one chef, Chef Gio. His Penne A la Vodka is out of this world! Angelo the father and owner is a great guy with an amazing sense of humor and really ensures all of his guests have a great time. It is off the beat and path so I dont think it gets the recognition it deserves. Keep it up!
My husband and I were told by our kids that the Nifty Nook was a great place to enjoy a meal. Our kids both live in Orangeville and we live in Brampton. They had raved about the food at the Nifty Nook, so we finally dropped in for lunch. Kim was very friendly and helpful, the menu has so many great items that I needed help deciding what to have. I ended up ordering banana bread pancakes🤤 and one cinnamon roll pancake🤤. I ordered the one cinnamon roll pancake because I wanted to try one, (it’s their specialty) but really wanted the banana bread pancakes. Both were sooooo good, the portions were huge so I ended up taking home half. Highly recommend this great, hidden gem, we will be back.
My family went for breakfast today ( 8 people) but not me They brought me 2 tarts and I can honestly say that they were the best that I ever tasted in my life. I have eaten there before and the breakfast was fantastic at the great price. Today my family was absolutely satisfied with great food and they even entertained them with a magician. Highly recommended.
If I could give more than 5 stars I truly would! This place has it all- decor, drinks, food, music, and service! This was my second visit to Revival with my friends, this time for New Years, and there was nothing I would change. The menu selection for the night was amazing- the second course was this LIFE CHANGING cauliflower salad and I never knew I could love vegetables so much. I always feel so spectacular when I walk in and I feel transported back in time! Although I was the only person who took the 20's theme seriously (which I quickly realized wasn't a bad thing as I got lots of great compliments!) Everyone was in such good spirits and the music was just the cherry on top of it all. I am excited to visit more this year and to continue making my way through the beyond reasonably priced and excellently made drink menu.
Hello We pre-ordered food to be ready at 7pm as the person on the counter suggusted. It was New Years Eve and we know they all always busy so I took the inititive to call them at 1615PM{New Years Eve} and the administrator memotioned that most of the ordereds for 7pm are already out and ready. I assssssssssked how that could be as the order was not ssuppose to be ready uintil 7pm. I got no real explanation why but I ask my wife to please go get the dinner. When my wife returned with dinner. which was a 1omin drive we opened all the bags and the food was cold! I quickly called them back aand the answer I got from everyone at the restaurant that it was impossible. One gentlemen did return my call saying it was impossible for the food to be cold and that I could return my food and he would return my $100.00 I spent but had no answer on what I would do to feed my family and guests. I am not disliking this restaurant for their food quality, I am truely upset that if they ran ahead of schedule with my food order why couldn't the people running the front counter call each ccustomer and say "your ordr is ready" come get it ASAP please. My wife did memtion too that when she picked up our food at 630pm, there were bags of chinese food everywhere ready to be picked up aand getting cold. I can rest asure their were many other other customers that received cold food last night.
Surprisingly good Thai and vietnamese food. Soups have lots of foreign veggies and mushrooms. Vinegar sauce is weak. Chicken curry is very good. Tom Yum is bland. Wish they had Nam Khao.
We went last night as Wednesday is their special "buy one get one free" appetizer night. We each ordered a pound of wings, which are considered an appetizer. We ordered maple chipotle, honey garlic and dry Cajun. The wings were juicy and a good size and were delicious. We also ordered calamari, which was really delicious and the artichoke dip, which was so good I could have licked the bowl! We also had bruschetta, which was okay. The waitress was very friendly and and personable, and attentive. We had a lovely window table overlooking Broadway (the Main Street) which was quite cozy on a cold January night. The total for 3 people ordering 6 appetizers, 2 beers, 1 HUGE glass of wine (12 oz.) and several soft drink refills, was only $72.00 and we were all full! We would definitely go back again, especially for this deal!
If you love French toast and you love coconut, then you have to try the crunch French toast. It was delicious!! My husband has the eggs benedict and he thoroughly enjoyed them. Cute outdoor patio and the staff are super friendly!
Besides being a very quaint cafe, the food is good and the service is way above par. The coffee is a very good quality brew The staff are super friendly. I will be back. Hopefully soon.
Had a quick visit to Auntie Joys little spot before the cinema in Orangeville. Chose the special Chicken Pad Thai (medium spice ) and it was really great.. Auntie said it was the best in town, and i'm sure she's right! She is a warm friendly character. I will return again for sure.
This is about as authentic Thai as you'll find in Orangeville, but average compared to other Thai places in Ontario. I showed up to pick up our order on time, but still had to wait 25 minutes as it wasn't ready, and 4 others came in after me, also all waiting. I specified an allergy to sesame, which they said wouldn't be a problem, yet it was all over all our coconut rice bowls. I tried calling to verify that the rest of the order was sesame-free, but couldn't get through their phone line. Tried for 2 hours until their closing time. And they were closed for 2 days after that, so I couldn't even indulge in the leftovers for fear of them being sesame-contaminated. I sampled 3 dishes that I know are usually sesame-free from other Thai restaurants. All were average, and my wife said the same about the other dishes that I did not risk trying. If you're craving Thai, this place will do in a pinch, so long as you're not in a rush or have any food allergies.
I went for lunch while on a business trip in Orangeville. I was staying at the hotel in front of the restaurant and it made sense to go there. The outdoor siting area was lovely, staff were very nice and helpful and the food was ok. Its a chain restaurant so it wasn;t out of the ordinary but there was plenty of options to choose and thats always good
The cook The indian owner is fantastic i got a medium steak and it was cooked to perfection. The owner and staff always go beyond to provide a great experience. The servers are exceptional All round great place to eat
Usually we order out from here but we decided to eat in this weekend. Service was quick and servers were very friendly. Meal was served quickly and hot. Prices are reasonable and they always have a daily special.
Good restaurant, service was good. I had the fish and chips that came recommended but I did not enjoy the batter... fries were fantastic...
