You must try this amazing place for their food and service. This is the only place we will drive miles to for the food. And the food, Dev is queen in this area. She can blend spices and recipes as no one can. You mouth will thank you for coming here. Jen is amazing in her service for you. Actually the whole crew deserves credit. When you see the employees eat the food after closing, you know you are in the right spot. Reservations are a must most nights, and don't wait too long to put your order for the day, as they only make so many servings of the food per day, (again showing that they don't take out bags and reheat them as some restaurants do) and you don't want to be disappointed by the sold out announcement. Just love, love this place.

Visited during covid, so review is based on takeout. Service was very quick, ordered at door as couldn’t get through on telephone and was staying just across the road. Advised it would be about 20 mins but was only about 10. Ordered the haddock and fries 4 piece and the cod and chips. Both portions were very good sized with plenty of fries. Fish and batter was very tasty. I am a lover of fish and chips and this is one I would certainly recommend for taste and value.

We went here at the recommendation of a friend and also bc it was one of the few restaurants open on Labour Day in the Port Elgin/Southampton area. We were welcomed and seated promptly on the busy patio, as per our request. The hostess was very nice. She asked if we wanted drinks and we ordered two Caesars which were delicious and delivered by our server as he first approached our table. We had the spinach dip with nacho chips as a starter, it came out quickly and was hot and very cheesy. I ordered the Allan’s steak which was a little under seasoned but perfectly cooked. I added some salt and it was good. My husband had what he called “the best fish and chips ever”. Highly recommend. Service was professional and prompt. Great vibe all around. Props to the owner who seems to treat his staff well (we were told they were closed Sunday for a Staff Appreciation event— nice!) and they seem to like working there.

What a lovely place. Nice owner and aesthetic. I have not been in since the location change but excited to see it. Coffee was good, flipping through their vinyl records and local music was even better.

Excellent quality food and service. The restaurant was packed on a snowy Saturday night and no mystery why once you taste the food. After starting with a shared fresh Waldorf salad my friends had i)the short rib staple on the menu and ii) the seared tuna special and both found their meals delicious. I require gluten free and had one of my best GF meals ever. Replacing the linguine noodles with GF gnocchi in the chicken, mushroom dish worked perfectly- thank you! While I skipped dessert my friend’s opted for the flourless chocolate cake and were extremely satisfied. Combine all this with a congenital host, great server and comfortable surroundings and we couldn’t have asked for better.

Stopped in here for a lunch. Location is right on main road through town at major intersection traffic lights. Small so not a lot seating - maybe for 6 total. Good for take out. Selections of sandwiches are wide and you can build your own or select from their prepared menu. Ingredients seemed very fresh as was the four different types of breads or buns. They say their ingredients are locally sourced. Prices begin around $8.00 and upwards per sandwich then adds toppings etc. Drinks from a fridge - standard soft drinks and milks and water bottles. Lunch for two sandwiches plus one bottle of water was around $22.00 - that was build-your-own roast beef and Classic BLT choice. Apparently they have award-winning chili?? They serve poutines but I did not select this time. Seemed to be just fries with gravy but their menu shows different types. Will likely return if in the area.

Port Elgin is lucky to have this little gem of a restaurant and I want to make sure to return for their dinner options as well. Tastefully decorated in French Bistro style it was comfortable right from the start. We tried their daily soup (ginger and carrot) and were warmed throughout by this tasty offering. My dining companion had a burger and enjoyed it thoroughly and I had a GF upscale grilled cheese which came with sprouts and slices of apple and some chutney on the side - scrumptious! The service was cheerful and professional and looking forward to a dinner on my next visit.

Had breakfast here recently for the first time. I immediately liked the warm, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. When my breakfastseemed to be taking forever, the owner was very apologietic and gracious in wanting to give me all my money back when my food arrived, explaining that her grill had stopped working. I was so appreciative of the sincrere response, and frankly had nowhere to be anyway, that I would come back alone for that kind of attentive service. The breakfast was bacon and eggs with hash browns, and was good. Overall, a good experience, and I would definately go back.

Got to Chesters latter in the evening on a Wednesday night after traveling to the area. What a great idea it was getting out of the hotel room! Everything about Chesters makes you glad you are there. The atmosphere the decore, the patio, the otherpatrons, including the regulars, the drinks and the Server, who in our case was Sarah. We ended staying until they were closing, just because it was such an unexpected great place to be. By the end of the night, we found out why, when we met our hostess, Bella. Bella, and her husband, the owners of Chesters run an A1 operation in all regards. Meeting Bella was a pleasure and she was genuinely accommodating and thoughtful to us strangers. We will be back!

My family order Christmas dinner from JC's and it was delicious!!! The turkey was moist, the gravy and the dressing were fabulous, I am glad I came across the ad on fb. Dinner was a hit and I didn't have to cook. Plan on doing this again next year!!!

They’re doing a great job managing through the Covid restrictions. Well organized and safe. Our first patio meal since March did not disappoint . Staff are extremely friendly despite having to wear masks in the heat. We had the gf fish and chips.. fish “battered in crushed potato chips” was amazing . Side was thin crispy sweet potato fries. Also had a Caesar salad that was very good. Washed it down with three sheets strawberry blonde beer. Excellent meal and great service . Also nice idea to add $12 to your bill to buy a round of drinks for the kitchen staff. Can’t wait to visit again.

It was a spur of the moment visit to a place we walk past once in a while. Open only from 7am to 2pm. Blonde wood and country motifs in keeping with the attached motel having been once called the Colonial (now a Travelodge). Good service - did not have to wait long to be seated or for the meals considering there was only one waitress and one cook. Tables clean. Had the all-day breakfast (2 eggs, 4 slices of bacon, 2 slices of toast and home fries) with endless coffee. Just under $20 for two people. We will be back!

The Queen's offers a great Sunday brunch. Choice of four or five items and the eggs benedict are very good. I had them with spinach instead of peameal accompanied with excellent home fries. The coffee is great and the portions are generous. I highly recommend The Queen's as they offer quality food and the price is only $11 (this includes coffee or tea and juice)

Finally we are able to dine out again...we will look back and find the world in a different place in the trying times of COVID. Would highly recommend the delicious food, the atmosphere quiet and relaxing. My spouse and I enjoyed Seared White Fish and Schnitzel Luzern from the menu. For appetizers we had Salt Baked Beet Salad, very delicious presentation done well. The Caesar Salad was like no other, yummy! The pricing is reasonable for fine dining. The service friendly and professional! Thank you to the chef! See you again...

Best fries on the beach! Quaint. Breakfast never disappoints. Our go to when at the beach. Sunset stroll with an ice cream cone from locally sourced ice cream. Part of Port Elgin's history!

Very good wild mushroom soup, biscuit and coffee for lunch on a cold winter day. Also browsed the shop and brought home some steak pies and Guinness steak sauce. Lots of baked items, teas, preserves. The owner, Marion Hill, was very friendly and helpful. Gave us lots of tips on travel to the British Isles.

In fact, it's right on the beach behind the building that serves as a change room and restrooms. Come as you are, right off the beach. We had drinks and French fries and ice cream. All were excellent. That's useful because there is nowhere else to buy food near the beach... other restaurants are downtown and they would not have served us while we were wearing swim suits. A nice, colourful place with reasonable prices and good food. (Probably not worth 5 stars when compared to a full service restaurant but for this type of business, it's very, very well done).

Well.... we had pizza and it was good. One of the only locations in Port Elgin where you can dine in during these strange times. I appreciate that of this Boston Pizza location. It was next door to our hotel which was good for us. The server was an upbeat guy, our drinks and food was served fast and he was knowledgeable about our options too.

Ordered a delivered pizza from here once and was shocked at the outrageous delivery fee, but the pizza was acceptable. Won't ever order for delivery here again, but thought we might drop in for lunch one day. The restaurant wasn't very busy and there was a buffet set out. Before deciding we checked out the buffet, and it appeared pretty sad. The salad bowls had very little in them, and there wasn't much variety. The pizza was in short supply and was dried out. The pasta dishes didn't appear fresh. There was nothing appetizing on the buffet so we tried our luck with the menu. Ordered a custom pizza and waited quite a while for it to arrive. The pizza was finally served and it was indeed hot and fresh, but had only a little sauce and a small quantity of toppings on it. There was so much more crust than toppings, we weren't very impressed overall. For the price, the pizza is certainly not amazing, but it is passable. I wouldn't consider the buffet, it really didn't appear to be appetizing and the price was simply too high for what it contained. Likely won't return, there are other options in the area offering really good pizza.

We have been searching the area for good Chinese food and Tangs Kitchen is our new favorite. The service was awesome and supper friendly. We ordered the chicken fried rice, the combination lo mien, chicken with mixed vegetables and beef with snow peas and broccoli. I had a 30 minute drive home from this location and the food was still hot and steaming when we opened it. Everything was delicious. The vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly and they do not skimp on the meat. It was a great meal and we will be going back to Tang’s in the future.
